    I have bought a cheap SSL certificate to run my website using NGINX. They sent me 4 .crt files: www_mywebsite_it.crt AddTrustExternalCARoot.crt PositiveSSLCA.crt UTNAddTrustServerCA.crt I have configurate www_mywebsite_it.crt and my .key on NGinx, but I also have to install the others .crt files. How can I do it? I'm using Ubuntu. (The problem is that I see correctly the SSL certificate using Firefox, Chrome and Opera but if I use Firefox 4.0.1 (the last) I get the default Firefox alert for insecure website.) Thank you!

    I got instructions from here, and I found several sites with similar instructions but somethig is wrong with the repositories on 12.04. This should work for 11.10 and previous versions. Any ideas how to install backtrack repos and some back track apps on 12.04? I read about downloading the .deb package for gerix and manually making the same folder structure that gerix uses on backtrack, then manually run the python script, but this way didn't work for me either. How can I get gerix installed and working on my Ubuntu 12.04 system?

    I'm going to be installing Visual Studio 2010. I already have my source code on the SSD. For best performance, especially time to open the solution and compiling time, would it be better to install VS 2010 on the SSD or install it on the HDD. If both were on the SSD, loading the VS 2010 files would be quicker, but there would be contention between loading the source and the program files. Thanks!

    I don't seem to be able to share between my Ubuntu (fresh install) and any of my Windows machines. I tried using this guide: How to Share Folders in Ubuntu & Access them from Windows 7. The problems is that I cannot see the Ubuntu machine in my network pane on the Windows machine. Any Ideas of what I should check? Ultimately what I am looking to do is make mobile media server that I can put in the Van, attach a WiFi router, and stream to an iPad, tablet, laptop, etc. Any advice on setting this up would be appreciated.

    I would very much like to install OSQA on my host (provided/owned by my friend), but I can not make heads or tails of how I would go about doing it; a lot of the dependancies and such can't be installed with the current level of access (or most probably just knowledge) that I have. I can provide any further information required, and attempt to contact (friend) to see if he can do any of it for me, but I'm unsure as to how often I will be able to contact him. exec and shell_exec are not disabled on the server. If there are any other alternatives that I could use, please let me know! I tried Qwench but that was pretty buggy. I can usually deal with these kind of things, but this is my first foray into Python stuff!

  • Attempting to install Ubuntu 11.10 along side Windows 7 Professional 64bit. Installer doesn't recognize an operating system present

    System Details: Asus Sabertooth 990FX motherboard AMD FX-8120 CPU 16 GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Vengance RAM (4x4) EVGA Nvidia GTX-560Ti video card 2x Dvd/cd rw dirves 1 Bluray RW drive 1 Orico USB 3.0 & eSata panel 1 Sabrent floppy bay card reader w/USB 2.0 port 760W pc power & cooling PS OCZ agility 120GB SSD (Windows 7 Professional 64bit installed in an approx 80gb partition, NTFS. There is also a "System Reserved" partition shown in disk management at 100mb in size, also NTFS) That leaves about 32GB usable free, un-partitioned space in which I hoped to install Ubuntu. However when I run the Ubuntu 11.10 AMD64 installer, it doesn't show there is even an operating system installed. It just shows the entire drive as free-unpartitioned space. Just not sure what to do here. I was thinking about using the Wubi installer, but i don't know about that. Is the performance reduction pretty drastic? Thanks,

    Unlike with earlier releases, the website is unclear on giving a straight recommendation for installing ubuntu on a mac: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04/release/ I've read several times, that I should use an alternative image. But this is only offered as 64-bit. However, I'm also told to rather use 32-bit images for better software compability. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04/release/ubuntu-12.04-alternate-amd64+mac.iso Even though I should only use alternative images, there is offered a standard desktop image which is "adjusted to work properly on Mac systems". http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04/release/ubuntu-12.04-desktop-amd64+mac.iso Question Which image should I take? Do both of these images offer UEFI boot? I've tried both of them already, but both have setup an install with BIOS emulation. This is quite annoying because of the short battery life and high temperatures which are harmful to battery longevity.

  • Eclipse version in Debian package directories too old. Alternatives to manual install?

    Ian Murdock, the founder of Debian, has commented that package management is "the single biggest advancement Linux has brought to the industry". (Wikipedia) But for some reason I'm forced to install eclipse manually if I want the most recent version, rather than the ancient eclipse 3.5.2 from the Debian package directories. Why? Is there a more convenient way to get the newer version? (I know the manual install is very little work, but I still think it should be unnecessary)

  • Java and Eclipse setup properly, how do I install JOGL or LWJGL?

    I have my Java environment installed alongside Eclipse, and I was successfully able to create and run a new project (simple System.out.println("Yay I work!"); I have the OpenGL SuperBible, and I primarily want to code 3D things (I'll take my time using the book to learn how to draw shapes in 3D space, etc..) Can you help me get setup with OpenGL in Java? I dont really need LWJGL, although I WILL make games eventually. I just can't even figure out with all of these terrible (and old) tutorials floating around on the net how to install either JOGL or LWJGL. If you can give me a hand with that, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to feel I contributed by having this page show the answer to the question, so that other poor souls googling for this same information can benefit.

    Does Windows 8 support upgrading from a clean install. For example, buying the upgrade key and entering it on a clear install? Or is it functionally necissary to have the version you are upgrading from installed on the computer. The former was the case with Windows 7, but I recal Windows 2000 needed the an installed copy before an update would proceed. I currently have a linux setup and I have the liceanse for Windows 7, but I don't want to have to downoad two 4 GB isos.

    I have been recently trying to find a solution for this on the web but did not find something useful or accurate for Ubuntu 11.10. I also consulted the NVIDIA help, but things there did not work for me. I installed the additional drivers from system settings but they are not fully compatible with my GeForce 6200. First I tried finding how to stop the X server. I succeeded, but another problem was the nouveau kernel. This is really frustrating. Can anybody tell me an accurate and authentic way to install NVIDIA drivers?

    I have an SDK that must install 32-bit and 64-bit files in the correct places under /usr/lib for a variety of Linux distributions. For example, it appears that for Fedora, /usr/lib64 is the 64bit lib, but for Debian based systems, /usr/lib is the 64bit directory. I want to find out if there is a reliable way to determine the correct locations. More specifically, is there a way an install script can determine programmatically which are the correct equivalents for /usr/lib for 32- and 64-bit libraries on a given distribution?

    I am going to be buying a second hard drive for my desktop here pretty soon, because my current hard drive is a piece of junk running windows 7. What I want to know is how to install Ubuntu on the second drive. I am looking for a non complicated answer as I am not familiar with the Ubuntu lingo. I am so sick of Windows..   • How can I install another version of Ubuntu on my computer and then uninstall it without messing up my bootup process?

    I have Ubuntu 11.10 installed and I am having some problems with it. I'd like to see if the problems are related to some customizations I did. Since one of my problems relate to the slow logout process, I don't want to use the live version. I want to actually install a new version in a separate partition along side my current version and then, after testing that new version and figuring out what I want, just removing the partition and going back to a single version of Ubuntu on this computer. Does anyone know how to do that without messing up my boot process?

    I own both a Mac running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and a PC running Windows 7. On my Mac is a font called "AmericanTypewriter.ttc". I'd like to use that font on my PC, for a specific creative project. I was able to copy the actual font file over to the PC, but when I try to install it into the Windows Fonts folder I get the following error message: "Cannot install (FONTNAME).ttc - The file '(FONTNAME).ttc' does not appear to be a valid font." Can *.TTC format font files be installed on Windows? If so, how? Thanks! UPDATE: I downloaded the source code for a simple ttc2ttf utility (ttc2ttf_AA.tar.gz) found at this Japanese page and compiled it under cygwin via g++. The resulting executable extracted a single file, "AmericanTypewriter.ttf", from the TTC / True Type Collection. (Why have a collection with only one file!?) However, I still get an error message similar to the one above when I try to install the resulting AmericanTypewriter.ttf onto Windows. I'm stumped again. p.s. I no longer need this font on Windows, but now I'm determined to figure out why & how-to :-)

    I'm currently working on how install and configure multiple (30+) JBoss EAP 5 configurations (both standalone and clusters) for development, test and production at a client's site (running SuSE). I'm not to fancy about the jboss way of storing application/configuration together with system files, so I have tried to split things up (ie moving server config out of the jboss installation directory). I also would like minimize the amount of configuration needed when upgrading/patching jboss - but I'm not done thinking about that... It would be great to hear how you've done and what you think about my approach.     I was having a very hard time getting webex to work under Saucy. Up until now I've been able to just install a java plugin, install ia32-libs, and I was good to go. With Saucy ia32-libs is gone and it's up to us to figure out which 32-bit libraries we need to install. I struggled with this for a few days trying blindly to install this and that until I found a way to get exactly what I need. I got the clue I needed from this post: http://blogs.kde.org/2013/02/05/ot-how-get-webex-working-suse-linux-122-64bit#comment-9534 and for anyone who wants it, here is a step-by-step method to follow that works every time (so far) ***Install JDK and configure java plugin for browser. No need for a 32-bit JDK or Firefox ***Try to start a webex. This will create $HOME/.webex/1324/ ***Check those .so libraries for unresolved dependencies by running ldd against them. For example: ldd $HOME/.webex/1324/*.so >>check.txt Look in check.txt for anything that is not found.   • Profile creation process stuck halfway Websphere

    I'm creating a cell profile on Linux Mint 12 , WAS 8.0 Network Deployment Trial. But using manageProfiles.sh or Profile Management Tool, I can not create any profile (cell, application ...).     Im trying to install an rpm file on CentOS 5 and Im not sure how to resolve this issues it brings up: $ rpm --install epel-release-6-5.noarch.rpm warning: epel-release-6-5.noarch.rpm: Header V3 RSA/SHA256 signature: NOKEY, key ID 0608b895 error: Failed dependencies: rpmlib(FileDigests) <= 4.6.0-1 is needed by epel-release-6-5.noarch rpmlib(PayloadIsXz) <= 5.2-1 is needed by epel-release-6-5.noarch What do the lines rpmlib(FileDigests) <= 4.6.0-1 mean? is rpmlib out of date or FileDigests out of date? Whats with the syntax of something followed by parentheses? Ive tried to use yum so that it can resolve dependencies automatically but it is unable: $ sudo yum --nogpgcheck install epel-release-6-5.noarch.rpm ... Running rpm_check_debug ERROR with rpm_check_debug vs depsolve: rpmlib(FileDigests) is needed by epel-release-6-5.noarch rpmlib(PayloadIsXz) is needed by epel-release-6-5.noarch Complete!
