• Dynamic web user control problem when browser's back button is clicked.

  Hi all, I have an .aspx page in which I dynamically add web controls to a panel. The problem is when I hit the browser's back buton, it's displayed a version of the page that no longer exists on the server-side, because the controls are dynamically added. Let's say my aspx dynamically adds Control1. From there, I click a button that loads Control2. At this moment, if I press the browser's back button, it will display the page with Control1, but Control1 no longer exists on the server-side, so if I interact with it, some erractic behaviour will occur. Any ideas on this? Thank you very much.

• How to load a page with its default values after a postback

  I'm creating user controls that i will put into an update panel and make them visible only when required using triggers. Once visible it will float in a dialog box so it has a close button which will just hide the control on client side. The controls have multiple post back states, like a wizard, i'm using a multi view control to accomplish that. My problem is that once the user is at step number two in the control, if the user closes the dialog, than opens the dialog again, (note that the control is made visible on the server and reloaded by updating the updatepanel) the second step will still be displayed. The reason is . because whenever there is a postback the control will load its state using the viewstate, even if EnableViewState is false it will still load it using the LoadControlState method. so my quesion is how can i force a user control to load fresh with its default values without any postback data.

  My university is holding a quiz contest in 2 weeks, and I need some sort of software (desktop or web based) that can be used to manage the quiz. I need functionality like an admin panel for adding teams, creating matches between 2 teams, adding questions and answers. I then need the software to automatically display the questions, accept answers, and display and store results. Is there any software (open source/freeware) that I can use for this task. If a pre-built software is not available, which language+library+platform would you suggest I make the software in. It can be either web based or a desktop app. But I need it by 2 weeks. Any suggestions?

• ModalPopupExtender OnShow Event

  When clicking a button, I have a ModalPopupExtender (Panel) that gets displayed. I can't seem to trigger any event during that process. Adding an event to the button that opens the ModalPopupExtender doesnt work, as it never triggers. Adding the button as a trigger in my UpdatePanel also doesnt work. Scenario: I have a gridview with a button outside of the gridview. Clicking the button opens up a ModalPopupExtender which needs to display the checkboxes clicked on the gridview. I have the code to get the checkboxes clicked on the Gridview, however I cant seem to use an event during the process of opening the ModalPopupExtender.

  I want to create a GUI driven application for a micro-controller (Atmel XMEGA) that is connected to a 128x64 dots graphics LCD (EA DOGL128-6) and 4 buttons for navigation. Controlling the display itself (e.g. drawing pixels and characters) is no problem but in order to prevent me from reinventing the wheel I was googling for a GUI-Library/-Toolkit that is written in c, includes its source code, will run on a 32 MHz 8-bit micro-controller and provides at least the following controls: panel (to group elements) menu (scrollable) icon label button line-graph (optional) But I didn't find any thing useful. Does anyone know (or better uses) such a library(preferably for free)?

• How can I get VS2008 winforms designer to render a Form that implements an abstract base class

  Hi, I engadged a problem with inherited Controls in WinForms, and need some advice on it. I do use a base class for items in a List (selfmade GUI list made of a panel) and some inherited controls that are for each type of data that could be added to the list. There was no problem with it, but I know found out, that it would be right, to make the base-control an abstract class, since it has methods, that need to be implemented in all inherited controls, called from the code inside the base-control, but must not and can not be implemented in the base class. When I mark the base-control as abstract, the VS2008 Designer refuses to load the window. Is there any way to get the Designer work with the base-control made abstract?

• How to retrieve JSON Data Array from ExtJS Store

  Is there a method allowing me to return my stored data in an ExtJS Grid Panel exactly the way I loaded it using: var data = ["value1", "value2"] Store.loadData(data); I would like to have a user option to reload the Grid, but changes to the store need to be taken into account. The user can make changes and the grid is dynamically updated, but if I reload the grid, the data that was originally loaded is shown even though the database has been updated with the new changes. I would prefer not to reload the page and just let them reload the grid data itself with the newly changed store. I guess im looking for something like this: var data = Store.getData(); //data = ["value1", "value2"] after its all said and done. Or is there a different way to refresh the grid with new data that I am not aware of. Even using the proxy still uses the "original" data, not the new store. Thanks in advance

• asp.net FileUpload control problem: access to directory is denied

  Hi, Im trying to use the fileupload control. Im using Visual Web Developer Express on my desktop. My web application is working fine except I cant use the fileUpload control. I get the following error: ERROR: Access to the path (My_Directory) is denied I searched and it appears to be a permissions problem. So I attempted to add the user ASPNET and give appropriate permissions to the directory, however, I was unable to add user "ASPNET". User "ASPNET" was not found. So then I followed the following directions to add user ASPNET via Control Panel Administration Computer management. So now I was able to add user ASPNET to the directory and give appropriate permissions but I still got the above error. http://p2p.wrox.com/net-web-services/5918-creating-aspnet-user.html Any ideas on why I cant access the directory?

• I have some questions about building an AIR app for use with a connected projector.

  For an app I'm working on, I'd like to have a control panel window and a video output window to use for projecting video with an attached projector. I have built many Flash applications but this will be my first time using AIR so I have some questions. Is it possible to have two seperate windows as part of one AIR application? Can one of the windows (the video output) be in full-screen mode while the other window stays normal? How does AIR do with playing local video? Will there be crashes or choppy playback? Is there a better language option for what I'm trying to accomplish?

  Hi all!I'll give an example of what I intend to do: I have 2 StackPanels one containing an Ellipse the other one containing nothing; I want to drag the Ellipse from one stack panel to the other . The actual drag & drop is already done and works fine. However I'd like to know how to keep that that Ellipse shape at the tip of my mouse cursor (I've been searching all day and couldn't find anything that helps ) Even an windows forms example would be nice , I'll be able to adapt it :). • User controls do not properly fit on the screen

  Hi, My application has several controls. Like in one screen has TreeView on left side, GridView with paging in the middle and 4 buttons at right side. The controls properly appear when the form is in a maximized state, but if I minimize it the controls do not properly fit on the screen. I tried with different different tricks like table layout.. in dat I added a panel, etc... But I could not solve the problem. How can I create such type of screens which fits independently of size of my window? Thanks

• Why does TabStop stop working??

  I have a project that uses a series of auto-generated user control instances. The user-control itself exists, but I populate a panel with a series of these user controls, one for each item in my collection. Each user control displays a ton of information, but only ONE text field is editable. All of the other fields have TabStop set to false, and are marked as ReadOnly. The tab order of each user control is set at the time it is created so that the tab-key goes from one field to the next (or ... it's supposed to). When I have TWO fields on my user control whose TabStop is set to true, everything works great. But if I only have ONE field whose TabStop is true, the tab key stops working, and I have to physically CLICK on the next user control for it to gain focus. What's up? Has anyone else seen this behavior? Am I doing something stupid as usual?

• Setting up boost filesystem

  I've been having serious problems trying to set up boost. I must have installed and uninstalled the libraries a dozen times. In my most recent attempt, I followed these instructions: Download the zip and unzip it. Get the prebuilt jam executable and unzip it. Put that directory in your path. (Edit Path by using Control Panel...System..Advanced....Environemnt Variables) Open Visual Studio command prompt. Browse to boost directory. Run: bjam "-sTOOLS=vc-8_0" install The main reason I'm trying to use boost is for boost/filesystem yet nothing is working. I know this question has been asked before, but it only resulted in more errors.. Please Help!

However, I have also tried p:commandButton but to no avail. • default webmail url workaround

  Hi, Is there a way or at least a workaround on masking default webmail urls or disabling access webmail urls so users will not be able to change their passwords? Website is PHP based and is using apache server under a shared hosting account. The thing is that http://domain.com/webmail will let users access the main panel where they can change their individual passwords. We do not need this. Most solutions point to changing httpd.conf which we are not allowed to change since this is on a shared hosting service. I'm looking for at least a workaround to this issue. How about disabling it through their browsers if my client is under a network server, this would be a decent workaround isn't it? or are there any more suggestions aside from this? Please help. This is my urgent issue. Thank you very much!

• can't start MySql in Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard

  I've googled this and could'nt find anything new and useful for Apple's new OS SnowLeopard. I wonder if this is my mistake or I do need to do something? this is what I did: Downloaded from mysql site: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.1.html#macosx-dmg I choose : Mac OS X 10.5 (x86_64) I run all the packages and installed all of them. So now I certainly have mysql in /usr/local/mysql/ But when trying to start it from preferences panel, it is always STOPPED. When I try to do (in the terminal): /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql I got : -bash: /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql: Bad CPU type in executable What is wrong here? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

  Basically I'm using phpbb as a forum of the main site and for images there are captions and in the Control Panel of the forum I added a custom profile field asking if the user if he/she wants amusing or descriptive captions. • wx Python is not properly drawing customtree items

  Hi, I am currently using wx.CustomTree, to use to display a series of configuration settings. I generally fill them with wx.TextCtrl / wx.Combobox, to allow the user to edit / enter stuff. • Google map in user control not loading from aspx code behind

  I am using Google maps API for proximity search. I have all this in an ascx client side. I have a button in the aspx code behind. The initial load of the map is fine. But on the button click, the map is not being loaded though all the other controls are loading properly. The controls are in an Update Panel and I am new to using these. SVN management (authz, web viewer, commit log, diff) Create template projects (1 click e.g. create me a microsite with this name in svn and give these people access) Reporting on code churn, time spent on tasks on a per project basis User story management Basically like Team Foundation Server but that integrates with SVN properly (reason for this - we have a wide range of skill sets and not everyone can use a TFS client). Is there a combination of Trac plugins + something that can create trac instances (a la Dreamhost's admin panel) that can acheive this. • How can I create a new email account in Java?

  I am able to send and receive emails from my JSPs and associated Java code using the Java Mail API (javax.mail.*). Now I would like to create a new POP3 email account programmatically when a user registers for my site. I've found surprisingly little information about this with web searches. I would think it would be a somewhat common problem. It appears that the Java Mail API does not provide any assistance in this area. I have many email accounts available under my godaddy account, and to manually create an account, I just go to the godaddy email control panel, click Add, and specify the email address and password. This is exactly what I would like to do via a Java program. Any ideas?

• How can I hide the taxonomy field for authenticated users but show it for other users in Drupal 6?

  I have a Drupal (v6.17) Content Type which includes a Taxonomy field. I want to hide this from ordinary Authenticated Users, but want it available to my Site Contributor role users, so they can review and then assign tags to user-created nodes. I've tried overriding the Node Add/Edit form in Panels 3 by creating a panel variant especially for Authenticated Users, which would exclude the Taxonomy field. However, the Taxonomy field is bundled in with the "General Form" controls - without showing this, I don't get the Title and Body fields. Is there a way I can either include the Title and Body fields without Taxonomy, OR hide just the Taxonomy field when the authenticated user role creates a node. I realise there's a CCK field which might be able to help me out here, but how do I tie that to the Taxonomy module? Any help gratefully received.

• setting up/installing/configuring nginx LEMP stack on fresh VPS server

  I need some help in settingup/installing and configuring nginx LEMP stack on a fresh new VPS i have. The specs of the CentOS 5.7 VPS are 2GB DDR3 ECC RAM(4GB burst), 1 core 1.5Ghz(3Ghz burst) and 100GB RAID 10 storage, unmetered bandwidth @ 100Mpbs all for a whopping $25/month(unbeatable, yeah i know :) Anyways i have followed this LEMP(will also need MySQL and PHP) stack guide on linode http://library.linode.com/lemp-guides/centos-5 but basically what i want is to be able to host multiple website on this webserver after everything is setup. I am used to using DirectAdmin control panel on other server and want to have things setup so i can host multiple websites...mostly wordpress and drupal themes. Lets say 10 websites on this nginx web server. So can someone please help me on what i need to do to take "full" advantage of nginx power and performance, while been able to easily manage these multiple websites (wordpress and drupal themes)?   Hi guys, I'm considering Wordpress as my CMS platform for a client site I'm doing at the moment. However, I need to create a couple of custom 'modules'. One of these modules is a form that people will be able to complete and have a quote, and once submitted, in a special place in the Wordpress panel (like a menu or something), there will be a listing of all the submitted quotes (just fetching it from a table in my database). Another one is to manage a cafeteria menu, so the client can add a different meal to each day of the week. I know perfectly how to do this kind of things using some kind of MVC framework and doing it 'by-hand', but I'm just wondering if this would be possible to do with WP and if yes, what kind of tools I'll have to use. I want to implement a functionality that specific part of the file like stack panel or grid needs to be export or print to the image format.
