  We have a package that ends with exception e.g. package a.b.c.exception; Our code base had no issues up till eclipse 3.3, however when we shifted to eclipse 3.4, it started giving errors related to this package: "The package a.b.c.exception collides with a type" When I refactor the package name to a.b.c.exceptions, there are no issues. Is this due to a bug in eclipse 3.4 or is there some setting to rectify this behavior?

• Simplest database implementation

What I am looking for is something demonstrating B+ trees and ACID storage (Suitable for educational purposes). What I have found up-till now form my current searches was hamster-db. I am looking for something even simpler with a smaller code-base. If there is any such opensource project in your knowledge please let me know.

• Problem using a public key when connecting to a SSH server running on Cygwin

  We have installed Cygwin on a Windows Server 2008 Standard server and it working pretty well. Unfortunately we still have a big problem. We want to connect using a public key through SSH which doesn't work. It always falls back to using password login. We have appended our public key to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on the server and we have our private and public key in ~/.ssh/id_dsa respective ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub on the client. When debugging the SSH login session we see that the key is offered by the server apparently rejects it by some unknown reason.   Hi all, I'm using Git to manage my website's source code and deployment, and currently have the test and live sites running on the same box. So a few questions: IS this safe? Would a better approach be to have my base repository be the test site repository (with corresponding working directory), and then have that repository push changes to a new live site repository, which has a corresponding working directory to the live site base? This would also allow me to move the production to a different server and keep the deployment chain intact. Is there something I'm missing? Is there a different, clean way to differentiate between test and production deployments when using Git for managing websites? As an additional note in light of Vi's answer, is there a good way to do this that would handle deletions without mucking with the file system much?   I am not really understand how's the nested attributes work in Rails. I have 2 models, Accounts and Users. Accounts has_many Users.   Background I'm working on an application which requires user-entered content, and I've decided to use a StackOverflow-style MarkDown editor. After researching this topic for the last few days, I realize there are numerous forks of the base WMD editor, some with a few basic enhancements and some with serious differences from the StackOverflow one. Since this will be the heart of the application, I'd like to start with the best code base I can. I'd be happy if anyone can recommend which one of the many solutions out there best fits my needs. Below is requirements, plus what I've managed to find already. I'm hoping this question will help me decide which version to go with, and maybe help me discover a port out there that's an even better fit for my needs. The requirements for my project Live Preview Multiple editors on the same page (not know how many in advance, since the user can dynamically add another editing box). Ability to extend with extra buttons (I'd like a button to upload a picture, instead of just adding an img url). Ability to dynamically show/hide the edit box (and only see the preview box). Not an absolute must, but I'd prefer to stick as close to StackOverflow's look and feel, since it's well known. Don't know if this matters, but the backend is written in Django. Editors I've looked at Here are a few of the code bases I've looked at, with thoughts. Obviously, I might be missing another solution out there. The derobins version. From what I can tell, this is the official StackOverflow version. Seems like it doesn't support multiple editors on one page. JQuery.MarkEdit. Looks very good, but is pretty different from the StackOverflow version. MooWMD. Looks like the winner right now, but I'm a little concerned since it looks less active/hackable than MarkEdit. The wmd-new version. Not sure, looks like an old codebase without much use. The SocialSite branch. Seems like it's not for public use.

I'm looking to switch to SASS as it has a bigger user base than CSS Cacheer and better documentation. I am aware of phpHaml but it doesn't have support for SASS yet. Any recommendation on a SASS parser for PHP? Preferably it should support SassScript.

• Why do I get extra, unexpected results with my ack regex?

  I'm finally learning regexps and training with ack. I believe this uses Perl regexp. I want to match all lines where the first non-blank characters are if (<word> !, with any number of spaces in between the elements. This is what I came up with: ^[ \t]*if *\(\w+ *! It only nearly worked. ^[ \t]* is wrong, since it matches one or none [space or tab]. What I want is to match anything that may contain only space or tab (or nothing). For example these should not match: // if (asdf != 0) else if (asdf != 1) How can I modify my regexp for that? EDIT adding command line ack -i --group -a '^\s*if *\(\w+ *!' c:/work/proj/proj Note the single quotes, I'm not so sure about them anymore. My search base is a larger code base. Unfortunately, when monitoring this value, it only shows the percentage when one of the counters is incremented. At all other times it it is sampled, it shows 0. Is there some way to tell the counter to hold onto the last value until the next time it needs to recalculate the fraction?

• Why html frame behave differently in Firefox and IE8 ?

  I use html frame on my webiste, it's been running for I while, usually I only use Firefox to surf the net, my site looks and functions ok, but today I suddenly found IE8 has a problem with the frame on my site, if I click on the top menu items, it's supposed to display the content in the lower part of the frame, it does this correctly in Firefox, but in IE8, it displays the content in the upper part of the frame and replaces the menu items.   I have the following elements in my schema: <xs:schema attributeFormDefault="unqualified" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <xs:complexType name="optimizeModelBase"> <xs:attribute name="name" type="xs:string"/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="riskModel"> <xs:complexContent> <xs:extension base="optimizeModelBase"> <xs:attribute name="type" type="xs:string" use="required"/> </xs:extension> </xs:complexContent> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="fullCovariance"> <xs:complexContent> <xs:extension base="optimizeModelBase"> <xs:attribute name="fromDate" type="xs:date" use="required"/> <xs:attribute name="toDate" type="xs:date" use="required"/> <xs:attribute name="windowSize" type="xs:int" use="required"/> </xs:extension> </xs:complexContent> </xs:complexType> In my main schema body, I use a element to specify a 1-of situation: <xs:choice id="RiskModelParameter"> <xs:element name="RiskModel" type="riskModel"/> <xs:element name="FullCovariance" type="fullCovariance"/> </xs:choice> When I run xsd.exe, the resulting code is: [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("FullCovariance", typeof(fullCovariance))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("RiskModel", typeof(riskModel))] public optimizeModelBase Item { get { return this.itemField; } set { this.itemField = value; } } The issue is that the element's ID tag is being ignored, and xsd.exe is arbitrarily naming the property "Item". I have to admit, it's not a big issue, but it's starting to annoy me. What makes this extra annoying is that if I have additional elements at the same level, xsd.exe binds them as "Item1", "Item2", etc. Does anyone know if it's possible to not have xsd.exe name my choice elements as "Item", and instead be able to put in my own property names?
