  • IIS 7 SSO stops working during high CPU load? [migrated]

    - by DanB
On our IIS7 site (Windows 2008 Server), we have set up single sign-on (SSO). It seems to work fine most of the time, but when the CPU load becomes high, SSO authentication completely stops working. I did some research and tried this suggestion to increase the max number of worker processes in the default app pool, but the increase did not help. Some details: The site is a WordPress blog. The server has plenty of RAM (2 GB) and free disk space. SSO is achieved by putting a copy of the WordPress login page (wp-login.php) into a subfolder below the root that has anonymous authentication disabled, and then redirecting the browser to it. This was the recommendation of Microsoft given to our consultants. To increase CPU load for testing, I have three scripts hit the home page simultaneously, over and over. This drives CPU to 100%. When these scripts are running, SSO authentication simply doesn't happen. As soon as I stop the scripts, SSO works again. (I should mention that the SSO problem also happens when many users visit the site at once....) The WordPress database process (mysqld) is not stressed at all by the scripts. I would be happy to provide further diagnostics. Any help appreciated!

  • How to reduce the CPU load on a hosting with WordPress installed as a CMS? [on hold]

    - by Akky Awesøme
I have been using hostgators hatchling plan for three months. I got an email from the hosting that my website is creating an over load on CPU. They said that I am eating up their processor and as a precaution, they have temporarily suspended my account. When I contacted their customer support, they said: You have to optimize your database and use some sort of caching mechanism, where the script does not need to generate a new page with every request, helps to lower the over load that a script will cause. I am not a technical geek, I am wondering how I will do this thing. I don't have any resource to hire a web developer to do this job. My website is down for 48hours. I was using wp super cache along with cloudfare's free support. Now I have intalled optimize-db plugin and optimized my database. Please provide me with some more tips on how to optimize my database to reduce CPU usage. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Calling a webservice via Javascript

    - by jeroenb
    If you want to consume a webservice, it's not allways necessary to do a postback. It's even not that hard! 1. Webservice You have to add the scriptservice attribute to the webservice. [System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService]public class PersonsInCompany : System.Web.Services.WebService { Create a WebMethod [WebMethod] public Person GetPersonByFirstName(string name) { List<Person> personSelect = persons.Where(p => p.FirstName.ToLower().StartsWith(name.ToLower())).ToList(); if (personSelect.Count > 0) return personSelect.First(); else return null; } 2. webpage Add reference to your service to your scriptmanager <script type="text/javascript"> function GetPersonInCompany() { var val = document.getElementById("MainContent_TextBoxPersonName"); PersonsInCompany.GetPersonByFirstName(val.value, FinishCallback); } function FinishCallback(result) { document.getElementById("MainContent_LabelFirstName").innerHTML = result.FirstName; document.getElementById("MainContent_LabelName").innerHTML = result.Name; document.getElementById("MainContent_LabelAge").innerHTML = result.Age; document.getElementById("MainContent_LabelCompany").innerHTML = result.Company; } </script> Add some javascript, where you first call your webservice. Classname.Webmethod = PersonsInCompany.GetPersonByFirstName Add a callback to catch the result from the webservice. And use the result to update your page. <script type="text/javascript"> function GetPersonInCompany() { var val = document.getElementById("MainContent_TextBoxPersonName"); PersonsInCompany.GetPersonByFirstName(val.value, FinishCallback); } function FinishCallback(result) { document.getElementById("MainContent_LabelFirstName").innerHTML = result.FirstName; document.getElementById("MainContent_LabelName").innerHTML = result.Name; document.getElementById("MainContent_LabelAge").innerHTML = result.Age; document.getElementById("MainContent_LabelCompany").innerHTML = result.Company; } </script>   If you have any question, feel free to contact me! You can download the code here.

  • TinyMCE include crashes IE8

    - by dkris
I am trying to open a popup onclick using a function call as shown below. <a id="forgotPasswordLink" href="#" onclick="openSupportPage(document.getElementById('forgotPasswordLink').innerHTML);"> Some Text </a> I am creating the HTML for the pop up page on the fly and also including the TinyMCE source file over there. The code is as shown below: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function openSupportPage(unsafeSupportText) { var features="width=700,height=400,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,scrollbars=yes"; var winId=window.open('','Test',features); winId.focus(); winId.document.open('text/html','replace'); winId.document.write('<html><head><title>' + document.title + '</title><link rel="stylesheet" href="./css/default.css" type="text/css">\n'); winId.document.write('<script src="./js/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript">Script_1</script>\n'); winId.document.write('<script src="./js/support_page.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript">Script_2</script>\n'); winId.document.write('</head><body onload="inittextarea()">\n');/*function call which will use the TinyMCE source file*/ winId.document.write(' \n'); winId.document.write('<p>&#160;</p>'); var hiddenFrameHTML = document.getElementById("HiddenFrame").innerHTML; hiddenFrameHTML = hiddenFrameHTML.replace(/&amp;/gi, "&"); hiddenFrameHTML = hiddenFrameHTML.replace(/&lt;/gi, "<"); hiddenFrameHTML = hiddenFrameHTML.replace(/&gt;/gi, ">"); winId.document.write(hiddenFrameHTML); winId.document.write('<textarea id="content" rows="10" style="width:100%">\n'); winId.document.write(document.getElementById(top.document.forms[0].id + ":supportStuff").innerHTML); winId.document.write('</textArea>\n'); var hiddenFrameHTML2 = document.getElementById("HiddenFrame2").innerHTML; hiddenFrameHTML2 = hiddenFrameHTML2.replace(/&amp;/gi, "&").replace(/&lt;/gi, "<").replace(/&gt;/gi, ">"); winId.document.write(hiddenFrameHTML2); winId.document.write('</body></html>\n'); winId.document.close(); } // --> </script> The support.js file contains the following. function inittextarea() { tinyMCE.init({ elements : "content", mode : "exact", theme : "advanced", readonly : true, setup : function(ed) { ed.onInit.add(function() { tinyMCE.activeEditor.execCommand("mceToggleVisualAid"); }); } }); } The problem arises when the onclick event is fired and the pop up opens up, IE8 stops responding and seems to hang. It is working fine on Chrome, Firefox and Safari. I feel that the issue is because of TinyMCE script inclusion because on commenting the lines that include the tiny_mce.js and the support_page.js, the popup renders with no issues. I am also using the latest TinyMCE release. Please let me know why this is happening and what could be the resolution.

  • Missing 'DomContentLoaded' and 'load' time information in Firebug's Net Panel.

    - by stony_dreams
Hello, Firebug is awesome in reporting the relative time when an HTTP request was made with respect to the 'DomContentLoaded' and 'load' time. However, once the 'load' event occurs (seen by the red line on the timeline), the requests thereafter do not have any information about how later they occurred with respect to the two events. To confuse things, these requests (usually at the bottom of the timeline) appear to have started right at the beginning of the page load. Could somebody shed some light on what should i infer when i see such entries in the timeline which do not have information about the 'DomContentLoaded' and 'load' event times and appear to have occurred after the page load event, still net panel shows that they started at the beginning? Thanks!

  • How do I add a version number field to an office 2007 docx document?

    - by Jon Cage
I've been having a crack at using fields in Word 2007 and have hit a slight stumbling block. I want to add a field which I can use in several parts of the document to represent the current version (something of the form v0.1 but I can't see an obvious way to do it). The only provision I've found for this is something called RevNum but that gets updated every time I save the document. Is there a field I've missed or a way of adding custom fields or something?

  • How to determine which image(s) in a word document is unusually large?

    - by Brian
I have a word 2007 document that is now 7MB in size that is being edited by many folks. I would like to figure out which of the many images in the document is the 'culprit'. My hunch is likely one or two of them is a bitmap or some other large image. In smaller documents when this is happened I can do it by trial and error: Remove an Image Save the File Check File size repeat Is there a more elegant solution to this issue?

  • Back button of Adobe PDF Reader after clicking a hyperlink whose target is on the same document

    - by artknish
PDF documents have hyperlinks to the contents on the same document (analogous to "#section" hrefs for an HTML document). Where's the back button to go back to the page I was on (where I clicked the hyperlink). Let's say I'm on the index of a PDF tutorial, page 4, and I click on Chapter 2's hyperlink in the index that takes me to page 38. Now, if I want to go back to page 4 again, which button or shortcut should I use?

  • How to add items to the Document Types context menu.

    - by Vizioz Limited
I am currently working on an extension to Umbraco that needed an extra menu item on the Document Types menu in the Settings section, my first thought was to use the BeforeNodeRender event to add the menu item, but this event only fires on the Content and Media menu trees.See: Codeplex Issue 21623The "temporary" solution has been to extend the "loadNodeTypes" class, I say temporary because I assume that the core team may well extend the event functionality to the entire menu tree in the future which would be much better and would prevent you from having to complete override the menu items. This was suggested by Slace on my "is it possible to add an item to the context menu in tree's other than media content" post on the our.umbraco.org site. There are three things you need to do:1) Override the loadNodeTypesusing System.Collections.Generic;using umbraco.interfaces;using umbraco.BusinessLogic.Actions;namespace Vizioz.xMind2Umbraco{ // Note: Remember these menu's might change in future versions of Umbraco public class loadNodeTypesMenu : umbraco.loadNodeTypes { public loadNodeTypesMenu(string application) : base(application) { } protected override void CreateRootNodeActions(ref List<IAction> actions) { actions.Clear(); actions.Add(ActionNew.Instance); actions.Add(xMindImportAction.Instance); actions.Add(ContextMenuSeperator.Instance); actions.Add(ActionImport.Instance); actions.Add(ContextMenuSeperator.Instance); actions.Add(ActionRefresh.Instance); } protected override void CreateAllowedActions(ref List<IAction> actions) { actions.Clear(); actions.Add(ActionCopy.Instance); actions.Add(xMindImportAction.Instance); actions.Add(ContextMenuSeperator.Instance); actions.Add(ActionExport.Instance); actions.Add(ContextMenuSeperator.Instance); actions.Add(ActionDelete.Instance); } }}2) Create a new Action to be used on the menuusing umbraco.interfaces;namespace Vizioz.xMind2Umbraco{ public class xMindImportAction : IAction { #region Implementation of IAction public static xMindImportAction Instance { get { return umbraco.Singleton<xMindImportAction>.Instance; } } public char Letter { get { return 'p'; } } public bool ShowInNotifier { get { return true; } } public bool CanBePermissionAssigned { get { return true; } } public string Icon { get { return "editor/OPEN.gif"; } } public string Alias { get { return "Import from xMind"; } } public string JsFunctionName { get { return "openModal('dialogs/xMindImport.aspx?id=' + nodeID, 'Publish Management', 550, 480);"; } } public string JsSource { get { return string.Empty; } } #endregion }}3) Update the UmbracoAppTree table, my case I changed the following:TreeHandlerTypeFrom: loadNodeTypesTo: loadNodeTypesMenuTreeHandlerAssemblyFrom: umbracoTo: Vizioz.xMind2UmbracoAnd the result is:

  • CodeIgniter/PHP - Calling a view from within a view

    - by Jack W-H
Hi Folks Basically for my webapp I'm trying to organise it a bit better. As it at the moment, every time I want to load a page, I have to do it from my controller like so: $this->load->view('subviews/template/headerview'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/menuview'); $this->load->view('The-View-I-Want-To-Load'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/sidebar'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/footerview'); As you can tell it's not really very efficient. So I thought I'd create one 'master' view - It's called template.php. This is the contents of the template view: <?php $view = $data['view']; $this->load->view('subviews/template/headerview'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/menuview'); $this->load->view($view); $this->load->view('subviews/template/sidebar'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/footerview'); ?> And then I thought I'd be able to call it from a controller like this: $data['view'] = 'homecontent'; $this->load->view('template',$data); Unfortunately I simply cannot make this work. Does anyone have any ways around this or fixes I can put into place? I've tried putting ""s and ''s around $view in template.php but that makes no difference. The usual error is "Undefined variable: data" or "Cannot load view: $view.php" etc. Thanks folks! Jack

  • How to get the Blur event to fire for the document on the iPhone?

    - by Ian Storm Taylor
Does anyone know how to get the blur event to fire on the document for the iPhone? I'm trying to get it to fire either when a user changes windows in Safari, or when they open their bookmarks or when they decide to add the page to their homescreen. But none of these are firing it. Here's my code: $(document).blur( function () { document.title = "Ian Taylor"; }); I've tried "document", "window", "'body'". Nothing seems to work.

  • iPhone: How to read contents from UIWebView XML Document?

    - by David Conlisk
Hi all. In my iPhone app I'm using a UIWebView to allow the user to browse to an XML document on a website. When the user has found the xml document they want, they click a button below the UIWebView. Then I try to read the contents of the XML document from the UIWebView using: NSString *xml = [webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"document.getElementByTagName('rootXmlNodeName')[0].innerHTML"]; This doesn't work for me for XML documents. It works fine in a HTML page, e.g. using "html" for the rootXmlNodeName in the code snippet above. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • How to create an XML document from a .NET object?

    - by JL
    I have the following variable that accepts a file name: var xtr = new XmlTextReader(xmlFileName) { WhitespaceHandling = WhitespaceHandling.None }; var xd = new XmlDocument(); xd.Load(xtr); I would like to change it so that I can pass in an object. I don't want to have to serialize the object to file first. Is this possible? Update: My original intentions were to take an xml document, merge some xslt (stored in a file), then output and return html... like this: public string TransformXml(string xmlFileName, string xslFileName) { var xtr = new XmlTextReader(xmlFileName) { WhitespaceHandling = WhitespaceHandling.None }; var xd = new XmlDocument(); xd.Load(xtr); var xslt = new System.Xml.Xsl.XslCompiledTransform(); xslt.Load(xslFileName); var stm = new MemoryStream(); xslt.Transform(xd, null, stm); stm.Position = 1; var sr = new StreamReader(stm); xtr.Close(); return sr.ReadToEnd(); } In the above code I am reading in the xml from a file. Now what I would like to do is just work with the object, before it was serialized to the file. So let me illustrate my problem using code public string TransformXMLFromObject(myObjType myobj , string xsltFileName) { // Notice the xslt stays the same. // Its in these next few lines that I can't figure out how to load the xml document (xd) from an object, and not from a file.... var xtr = new XmlTextReader(xmlFileName) { WhitespaceHandling = WhitespaceHandling.None }; var xd = new XmlDocument(); xd.Load(xtr); }

  • How do I print an HTML document from a web service?

    - by Chris Marasti-Georg
I want to print HTML from a C# web service. The Web Browser control is overkill, and does not function well in a service-environment, nor does it function well on a system with very tight security constraints. Is there any sort of free .NET library that will support the printing of a basic HTML page? Here is the code I have so far, that is not running properly. public void PrintThing(string document) { if (Thread.CurrentThread.GetApartmentState() != ApartmentState.STA) { Thread thread = new Thread((ThreadStart) delegate { PrintDocument(document); }); thread.SetApartmentState(ApartmentState.STA); thread.Start(); } else { PrintDocument(document); } } protected void PrintDocument(string document) { WebBrowser browser = new WebBrowser(); browser.DocumentText = document; while (browser.ReadyState != WebBrowserReadyState.Complete) { Application.DoEvents(); } browser.Print(); } This works fine when called from UI-type threads, but nothing happens when called from a service-type thread. Changing Print() to ShowPrintPreviewDialog() yields the following IE script error: Error: 'dialogArguments.___IE_PrintType' is null or not an object URL: res://ieframe.dll/preview.dlg And a small empty print preview dialog appears.

  • Unable to get the DspStatus Field in the Task document properties.

    - by Pari
Hi, I am using Interop.Domino.dll API to read the NSF file and able to read the properties of the Task Document. When i view the Task Document properties in the Lotus Notes, i am able to view the Status Field, Importance Field and few others, but when i programatically dump all the Field Names and their values i am unable to get few of them as mentioned above. So, how to get all the Field Names and their values as i iterate through all the document properties. Is this the problem of IBM Lotus Notes Application or the Domino API ? Here is my sample code to iterate the TODO document properties : object[] TaskItems = docTodoDoc.Items as object[]; foreach (NotesItem objItem in TaskItems) { m_objLogFile.Debug(objItem.Name + " - "); m_objLogFile.Debug("Values :: " + ((object[])docTodoDoc.GetItemValue(objItem.Name))[0] as String); } Please help me out to over come this issue as i need to access the status value of the TODO Item from the NSF file. Thanks.
