  • Taking MySql backup from my Java application

    I am developing a Java application with MySql as the database. I have to dump the MySql database from my application periodically(let say every day at 10 a.m.) and I have written a batch (.bat) file for dumping the database. The batch file is working fine, but the problem is that it is asking for password each time during its execution. Is there any way to dump MySql database without prompting for password and achieve it from Java application periodically?

    Is it possible to execute raw commands as javascript through the Java driver for MongoDB? I'm tired of wrapping everything in Java objects using Rhino, and would happily sacrifice performance for the convenience of passing javascript directly through to the DB. If not, I can always use sleepymongoose or something, but I don't really want to add yet another language (python) to the stack at this point. Any insights are appreciated.

Inside the function, it has a pointer to that object which is a location in memory. I am wondering where this pointer lives in memory? Is a new memory location created once inside the function to hold this reference?

  • Cannot Debug Visual Basic 6 ActiveX Component On 64-bit OS

    Hi, The situation might sound a bit weird but I have to play with what I have. There's a Win2003 64-bit server OS and a legacy application written using Visual Studio 6. The app consists of two parts: ActiveX components written in VB6 and C++ code which uses them. I need to debug the components' code. I installed Visual Studio 6 on the server and I'm able to step into the component's code. Then I got following situation: 1) C++ code works until it needs to instantiate component A. 2) At this step we switch to VB6 and start debugging Component's A. 3) In the very beginning component A creates an instance of a class C exposed by component B. At this step VB6 debugger shows error message with title "OLEDB32.DLL" and following text: "Failed to load resource DLL C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\System\Ole DB\OLEDB32R.DLL" Additional information: The last step in initialization of the class C is opening an ADO connection to SQL server using OLEDB provider. I'd appreciate any ideas on how resolve this problem. Thanks in advance.

    Hello, I have a little COM+ component as a service on a remote server. I´m trying to execute a method of this component using: Type type = Type.GetTypeFromProgID("ComPlusTest.ComTestClass",serverName); // Create Service Object service = Activator.CreateInstance(type); // Execute Method String result = service.GetType().InvokeMember("LaunchPackage", BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, parameters, null).ToString(); The type is returned as null. What is the best way to do this?? The server is Windows 2003 Enterprise, the service is a .NET component wraped as COM+ (I know that I don´t have to do it that way, but the purpose is to itegrate a legacy App with a .NET component) The purpose of this is just to test that the .NET COM+ Component works.     What I'm trying to do is to update my database after a period of time. So I'm using java scheduler and connection pooling. I don't know why but my code only working once.
