• How are value types implemented in .NET

  Been looking around the net and can't find any articles about how value types are actually implemented. For instance, an Int32 is a struct and it's direct parent is System.ValueType and that's ultimate parent is System.Object. Object is a class - I imagine ValueType is a class? What's the class hierarchy? What part does the CLR have to play? At what stage and how does the CLR know to allocate value types to the stack? (FYI, I am aware that value types are stored where they are declared).

  Hello, In the following XML structure how do i retrieve the name value and put this into a string? (i am using a XPathNavigator in my method) <testsystem> <test> <name>one</name> </test> </testsystem> I was able to get a attribute with a syntax alike this: (but when changing the xml struture it no longer holds a attribute value) string name = nav.GetAttribute("name", "") But have no luck getting the value with a nav as of yet.   I want the following rules but I don't seem to get the right setup. <domain>/training-courses/ both with or without the slash at the end it should go to: <domain>/?index.php?page=training-courses and for each variable extra after this I want it to behave like this: <domain>/training-courses/success/another-value/and-yet-another/ to <domain>/?index.php?page=training-courses&val1=success&val2=another-value&val3=and-yet-another-value If it's not possible to have the option for unlimited leading variables, i'd like to have at least 2 variables after the page variable Is this possible? and how do I get this sorted out?   I am using SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Studio and struggling with returning an integer value from a very simple execute SQL Task. For a very simple test, I wrote the SQL Statement as: Select 35 As 'TotalRecords' Then, I specified ResultSet as ResultName = TotalRecords and VariableName = User::TotalRecords When I execute this, the statement is executed but the variable doesn't have the updated value. However, it has the default value that I specified while variable definition. The return of a date variable works, but integer variable isn't working. The type of User::TotalRecords specified is Int32 in a package scope. Thanks for any hints

  Suppose I have this XML: <x> <e s="1" t="A"/> <e s="2" t="A"/> <e s="1" t="B"/> </x> Is there any way to write an xpath to find any nodes named "e" which have the same value of @s as another node but a different value of @t for the same node. The first part is easy: //e[@s = //e/@s] as is the second part: //e[@t != //e[@t]] But I don't see any way to construct an xpath that compares two different attributes for two separate elements "e". Is there a way within the xpath syntax, or is it hopeless?

  Hello, i'm building a template engine for my next project, which is going great. It replaces {tag} with a corresponding value. But, i want {tag[0][key]} to be replaced as well. All i need to know is how to get the value, if i have the string representation of the array and key, like this: $arr = array( 0=>array( 'key'=>'value' ), 1=>array( 'key'=>'value2' ) ); $tag = 'arr[0][key]'; echo($$tag); This is a very simple version of the problem, i hope you understand it. My question is how to find the highest value in my array and return the index key. In my case, I need to get 'c' and 'd' and the value of 6. Not sure how to do this. Any helps would be appreciated.   in C++ Primer 4th edition 2.1.1, it says "when assigning an out-of-range value to a signed type, it is up to the compiler to decide what value to assign". I can't understand it. I mean, if you have code like "char 5 = 299", certainly the compiler will generate asm code like "mov BYTE PTR _sc$[ebp], 43"(VC) or "movb $43, -2(%ebp)"(gcc+mingw), it IS decided by the compiler. but what if we assign a value that is given by the user input? like, via command line? and the asm code generated will be "movb %al, -1(%ebp)"(gcc+mingw) and " mov cl, BYTE PTR _i$[ebp] mov BYTE PTR _sc$[ebp], cl "(VC), so now how can compiler decide what will happen? I think now it is decided by the CPU. Can you give me a clear explanation?

• MySQL Limiting a query to one consistent value

  My current query returns a table like: +------------+ value1 | .... value1 | .... value2 | .... value3 | .... +------------+ I want: +------------+ value1 | .... value1 | .... +------------+ I want to only receive all rows with the first value. Normally I would do a WHERE clause if I knew that value, and I cannot use a LIMIT because each value has a different number of rows. Right now My query looks like "SELECT u.*, n.something, w.* FROM ... AS u, ... AS n, ... AS w WHERE u.id = n.id AND w.val = n.val AND u.desc LIKE '%GET REQUEST VARIABLE%';" This works great, except I get way too many rows and using PHP to do this ruins code portability and is superfluous.   I'm creating some pagination for my website, and want to use an input-element to navigate between pages. Like the following example: The input would require the "return" key to be hit for the script to trigger. If the value entered is not within range and alert would trigger. e.g. If there was 32 pages, "Please enter a value between 1 and 32" Can this be done using jQuery or javascript, by detecting the value change within the range of pages and redirecting to that page? • Rails model to represent multiple fields

  I'm developing a rails project where I have one data model with multiple fields that are collection selects. I'd like to create another model to represent all of these collection select fields. So, for instance, my main data model has three collection select fields -- one for county, one for category, and one for classification. I could separate these into three separate data models, but that seems redundant since they all share the same characteristics. They have a type and a value, like a county is a county and it has a value of let's say Sonoma, just as category has a type of category and a value of let's say Winery. If you've ever used Drupal, I'm basically looking for the behavior of the taxonomy functionality. So you see my dilemma: I need to separate these fields into three separate fields but they have very similar data structures. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  I want a Date Time Picker control WITHOUT a default value. Doesn't seem to be possible anymore :-( To reproduce, create a blank XPage and place a Date Time Picker control. Open the XPage in the browser and you will see that it defaults to today. I didn't found any way to set the default to an empty value. I tried setting all properties/data/default to 0, null, empty string and so on - no luck. I tried the data-dojo-probs attribute with value:'', this sets the default to 1970-1-1, but not to blank. Any ideas?
