  (this is related to another question about implementation on iPhone) I have a large image, size around 30000 (w) x 6000 (h) pixels. You may consider it's like a big map. I assume I need to crop it up into smaller tiles. Questions: what is the tile strategy? Requirements: whole image (though cropped) can be scrolled up/down/left/right by swipes zoom in (up to pixel-to-pixel) out (down to screen-fit-by-height) by the 2-finger operation memory efficiency by lazy loading tiles Thanks!

  Hi everyone, I am currently working on a project and i would like my users to be able to backup/restore theirs accounts. I am looking for a rails plugin/gem that would easily do that, ie : current_user.backup() = backup_file current_user.restore(backup_file) = database import/replace I don't know if my question is very clear, but i would like to backup every user's related object (posts, comments, etc) and to be able to restore them from a backup file.   I have a number of Office 2007 documents (.pptx, .docx, .xlsx) in a SharePoint document library and when user tries to open the documents, it tries to open as a zip file. This happens to some users, but not all. I posted this issue at http://superuser.com/questions/110211/why-office-2007-documents-open-as-a-zip-file, but I failed to mention that it was related to the Sharepoint so it got moved to the superuser.com Please help.

  I've noticed that PHPmyAdmin creates the following SQL for table creation: CREATE TABLE something ( ... ) auto_increment=1; When I write a database creation script I don't use the auto_increment bit. From reading related questions here I understand that it determines the starting value for auto_increment values. But it is good practice to reset it to 1, or should I just leave it out of the SQL so that the default is used?

For example, in 2008, January 1st to January 6th are in week 1 and January 7th to the 13th are in week 2, so if my date was January 10th 2008, my week number would be 2. But always if a want to soft delete a record which hasMany other records, which are translated (located in the i18n-table partly), the related hasMany records aren't soft deleted. Example: Post hasMany Comments (dependent = true) Post actsAs SoftDeletable Comments actsAs SoftDeletable, Translate Post record get's soft deleted, but I also get an error for the dependent Comment records and they aren't soft deleted.
