  • Jboss EAP 5 and Tomcat 6 on the same Win env. (Jboss gets Toncat`s home page when`s up)

    Hi guys, I`m newbie to Java technologies, just trying to catch up some idea of it. I was trying to build a java environment to play with Eclipse, Mysql, Tomcat and Jboss and integrate these together. I did: 1. Installed jdk1.6.0_20 (including JAVA_HOME and path variables; I work on Win Vista), mysql 5 and eclipse-jee-galileo (the latest one, 3.6 I believe) and all went good - java programs are compiled and run getting a DB connection. 2. Installed Jboss enterprise-installer-5.0.1.jar with localhost:8080 and this also went good - run.bat started it and I could log in as admin thru its home page. I integrated it with eclipse and could start and stop it from there too. 3. I got apache-tomcat-6.0.26-windows-x86 and this also runs and stops from command line and from eclipse. But this one uses localhost:8080 without asking. Now the problem is when I start jboss I get Tomcat home page and I can`t fix it. Is it probably because both now use localhost:8080? BTW, does Jboss EAP 5 contain Tomcat inside and I shouldn't add that Tomcat separately? Thanks for you help in advance, Eddie

  • For the professional programmers - do you still write code for fun at home ? [closed]

    Possible Duplicate: Do you ever code just for fun? I've been working as a 'professional' coder for about 11 years. (I've just turned 33.) When I talk to my collegues, I find that most of them actually don't program any more in their spare time - 8 (or 10 :)) hours a day at their job is enough for them. A difference between me and them might be that I was always programming for fun (demoscene stuff etc.) which is why I got into the field, while most of them picked up programming later on (at university or whatever). When I get home my head is always full of ideas, so usually I have a hobby-project going on. Is it weird to spend 8 hours a day programming, and then get home, have dinner, and do some more ? For me the reasons are just - ideas : trying stuff - wanting to develop something all by myself, so when it's finished I can claim it as my own victory How about you ? And if you do, do you have other reasons to do so ? Edit: And if you've got sparetime projects, it might be fun to tell us a bit about it :) Spamming a link to your site/hobbyproject won't be frowned upon here ! Edit2: Vote for this if you want to encourage companies to make monitors that'll give you a nice tan ! ;-)

  • Why Can't SSMS Access The Documents Folder in Windows 7?

    I have a database backup located in my Windows 7 Documents folder (c:\Users\Aaron\Documents...), and I'm trying to restore it using SQL Server Management Studio. However, the program is unable to access anything within the Users\Aaron directory using its non-standard file selection dialog, even when run as an Administrator. I'm brand new to Windows 7... Is there some sort of security setting that I need to trigger to give programs access to these files?

  • Microsoft Windows 64-bit application development best practises installation folder.

    My problem is that a vendor is providing me with a 64bit application (packed in a 64bit installer) but it goes and installs to the x86 (Program Files) Folder and he keeps telling me its OK but I want it to install in the Program Files directory; as the 32 bit version does that and scripts for the app are developed based on this assumption. Can someone direct me to the Microsoft recommended best practices for 64bit applications(links). Thanks in advance.

  • How to exit current activity to homescreen (without using "Home" button)?

    Hi everyone, I am sure this will have been answered but I proved unable to find it. So please excuse my redundancy. What I am trying to do is emulating the "Home" button which takes one back to Android's homescreen. So here is what causes me problems: I have 3 launcher activities. The first one (which is connected to the homescreen icon) is just a (password protected) configuration activity. It will not be used by the user (just admin) One of the other 2 (both accessed via an app widget) is a questionnaire app. I'm allowing to jump back between questions via the Back button or a GUI back button as well. When the questionnaire is finished I sum up the answers given and provide a "Finish" button which should take the user back to the home screen. For the questionnaire app I use a single activity (called ItemActivity) which calls itself (is that recursion as well when using intents?) to jump from one question to another: Questionnaire.serializeToXML(); Intent i = new Intent().setClass(c, ItemActivity.class); if(Questionnaire.instance.getCurrentItemNo() == Questionnaire.instance.getAmountOfItems()) { Questionnaire.instance.setCompleted(true); } else Questionnaire.instance.nextItem(); startActivity(i); The final screen shows something like "Thank you for participating" as well as the formerly described button which should take one back to the homescreen. But I don't really get how to exit the Activity properly. I've e.g. used this.finish(); but this strangely brings up the "Thank you" screen again. I noticed they all have similar folder names in the root directory bin boot dev etc home lib lost+found media mnt opt proc root sbin selinux srv sys tmp usr var I googled around, but couldn't find anywhere that explained the purpose of each of these. I understand a couple, but could anyone point me somewhere or give a quick breakdown of the common ones.

    Starting around the time I installed the Office 2010 Beta, Whenever I login, Windows tries to open a file named "Bob", coincidentally the first part of my username. Selecting Notepad to open it, and it contains TCP/IP network settings. I've looked for and deleted unrecognized entries in my StartUp folder, in HKLM/.../CurrentVersion/Run and in HKCU/.../CurrentVersion/Run with no luck. Is there any other place I should be looking for errant entries?

  • Live Mesh deleted my folder! Is there anyway to recover it?

    I'm using Live Mesh to sync files. I have two machines, one has my work and the second was offline. When I booted the second Live Mesh deleted all the content of a folder from my live desktop. I can see the entry in the news section of my live desktop (delete 74 folders...). Anyone know if there's a way to undeleted or recover these files? Thanks!

So how can I sort folders by the last characters in the folder string? Characters will always be three consecutive numbers, and will run from 001 to 999 (until I've done a thousand jobs, which will take years).

  • How do I exclude an Outlook folder form Windows Search Index in Windows 7?

    I have a pretty big (~30GB) email archive (Outlook + Exchange: .ost file) and I would like to use the Outlook Search Feature (Windows Search technology). I would like to exclude some folders from the indexing (at least the "spam" folder!) but it seems there is no option for that in the standard configurations. Is there any other way (registries, etc) that can I accomplish this? I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2007. Thanks!
