    Hi, Is there a way to disable the Javascript in a UIwebView ? I have memory consumption problem, and I'm looking for a trick here because it seems to not be be possible with the official stuff.     Hello. I have created new a view controller in my project (ActivateController). I have added it to the interface of the parent view controller (PrefsViewController): #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "ActivateController.h" @interface PrefsViewController : UIViewController <UITextFieldDelegate> { ActivateController *activateController; } -(IBAction)pressedActivate; @property(nonatomic,retain) IBOutlet ActivateController *activateController; @end I have also added it to parent's controller nib (and changed it type to ActivateController), and connected it to IBOutlet ActivateController. But still, when I perform (on pressedActivate): [self.navigationController pushViewController:activateController animated:YES]; Nothing happens. I have done it successfully many times before. What might be wrong? P.S. pressedActivate is executed for sure (I used NSLog to check).

    I use MFMailComposeViewController to send a message in html format. If my html template contains the css styles: <div class="margin:10 10 10 0"> <a href="domain.name">Go To</a></div> In this case it works good. But if I send: <a href="domain.name">Go&nbsp;To</a> then I see the letter that comes with broken styles as there (3D is not my misprint) <div style=3D"margin:10 10 10 10;"><a href=3D"www.google.com">Go=C2=A0To</a></div> Well as the letter goes broken when I insert in the template symbols from national alphabets. Somebody can tell what the problem and check with yourself?

    In my Core Data app I am using a FetchedResultsController. Usually to set titles for headers in a UITableView you would implement the following method like so: - (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section { id <NSFetchedResultsSectionInfo> sectionInfo = [[<#Fetched results controller#> sections] objectAtIndex:section]; return [sectionInfo name]; } where [sectionInfo name] returns a NSString. my sectionKeyPath is based on an NSDate and this all works fine apart from the section headers it gives me are the raw date description strings (e.g. 12/12/2009 12:32:32 +0100) which look a bit of a mess in a header! So I want to use a date formatter on this to make a nice header like "Apr 17 2010" but I can't do that with the [sectionInfo name] as this is NSString! Any Ideas? Many Thanks

I am using following code code. i am try to load the xml data from server using NSAutoreleasepool to do the xml parsing in the background thread.     Looking for clues about orienting an OpenGL ES app in landscape, most information I found dates back from 2008, most of it refering to the early versions of the SDK. Apparently, back in the days, in the case of GL it was recommended to not rotate the view, but instead to apply the rotation as a GL transformation. Is it still the case with the current SDKs? It would be so much simpler to simply rotate the window: all the touch events would be in sync with the rotation. In other words: how to set up an OpenGL view in landscape mode?

  • NSDateFormatter incorrect date on simulator, correct date on device

    Hi, Im building a calendar and to find out the first day of the month I do [formatter setDateFormat:@"e"]; int startDay = [[formatter stringFromDate:newDate] intValue]; On the device this works correctly and the 1st of the month is on the correct day. But on the simulator it is the day after. Although it doesn't overly matter about the simulator it is kind of driving me crazy thinking I've done something wrong. I tried to set the locale of the formatter but no difference, nor i think should it. Can anyone shed some light on this? On a side note is there a better way to build a calendar than this?

The next question, is how does the object know which UIViewController to talk to? How does it know which UIViewController has its view as the subview of the window? Is there a message you can send or a property you can set (of some object) that sets the "Active" UIViewController for the app?

  • Resize a UITableView to accomodate a translucent header before it becomes visible

    I have a UITableView inside a UINavigationController. The navigation controller uses a translucent navigation bar--as a result, my table view is displayed behind the navigation bar and it's height includes the height of the navigation bar. However, I want the table view to appear below the navigation bar (as it would if it were not translucent). I'm working in MonoTouch, but I think the principles are language independent. Here's the code I'm using to resize the UITableView frame: RectangleF rect = tableView.Frame; tableView.Frame = new RectangleF (rect.Left, rect.Top + 44, rect.Width, rect.Height - 44); tableView.ContentInset = new UIEdgeInsets (0, 0, 0, 0); This works fine if I place it in the viewDidAppear method, but will not work in the viewWillAppear method. In the viewDidAppear method, however I can see the resize occurring briefly in the form of a flicker. I want to do the resize before the frame appears. But if I put this code in viewWillAppear or viewDidLoad, it has no effect. Thanks in advance for any help!

    I need my user to input some data like DF-DJSL so I put this in the code: theTextField.autocapitalizationType = UITextAutocapitalizationTypeAllCharacters; But unfortunately what happens is the first to letter type in CAPS but then letter immediately after typing the hyphen will be in lower case and then the rest return to CAPS therefore producing output like this (unless the user manually taps the shift button after typing a hyphen): DF-dJSL How can I fix this?   • Objective C: Create arrays from first array based on value

    I have an array of strings that are comma separated such as: Steve Jobs,12,CA Fake Name,21,CA Test Name,22,CA Bill Gates,44,WA Bill Nye,21,OR I have those values in an NSScanner object so that I can loop through the values and get each comma seperated value using objectAtIndex. So, what I would like to do, is group the array items into new arrays, based on a value, in this case, State. So, from those, I need to loop through, checking which state they are in, and push those into a new array, one array per state. CA Array: Steve Jobs,12,CA Fake Name,21,CA Test Name,22,CA WA Array: Bill Gates,44,WA OR Array: Bill Nye,21,OR So in the end, I would have 3 new arrays, one for each state. Also, if there were additional states used in the first array, those should have new arrays created also. Any help would be appreciated!
