  • Software for decreasing of touchpad sensitivity (when finger is hovering over touchpad it detect it) (alps touchpad)

    I have an issue with touchpad, when I use it and I have one finger on the touchpad plate and another finger very close to the plate (but i do not touch it with the other finger), my mouse pointer is jumping around the screen. It seems to be an issue with touchpad which detects finger even if it is not touching the plate. I have dell e6530 with Apls touchpad driver and windows7, is there some software which can somehow help to mitigate this effect it is really annoying, on my previous laptop (7 years old) i did not have such issue.

  • How can I open Outlook Calendar to a 2-3 week view by default?

    I use Outlook 2007, and I like to view my calendar 2 (or sometimes 3) weeks at a time. Its relatively easy to do, by dragging my mouse across several weeks in the mini calendar. BUT... it never stays that way. As soon as I change to Contacts and back to Calendar, the view resets to showing a whole month. Any ideas about how to change to default view?

    I pressed Ctrl + Alt + t while having Chrome open to open a terminal in my Chromebook. How do I paste content into this terminal copied from another tab in Chrome? I have tried Ctrl + v to no avail. I have also tried highlighting text and pasting it via the middle button on my mouse, which failed too. I have also read this article (http://www.servercobra.com/nothing-but-chromebook-for-a-week/) and tried triple clicking my touch pad, but it isn't working for me.

    Hi all, My touchpad on my laptop appears to be no longer functioning. I typically use an external keyboard and mouse so I didn't notice the problem until I tried to use the touchpad. Even after toggling the on/off switch several times, the touchpad still doesn't work. In the logs, I see something about cannot read byte from synaptics device.     Using Ubuntu's USB Startup Disk Creator (usb-creator-gtk), I created a LiveUSB from the Xubuntu 9.10 LiveCD. When booting, it stalls up with the Xubuntu mouse splash screen displayed. In attempting to troubleshoot, I used Ctrl-Alt-F1 to check out the first virtual terminal. On that screen, I see over and over again the lines: stdin: I/O error stdin: error 0 /init: line 1: can't open /dev/sr0: No medium found

  • Mac OSX: Scroll half a page

    I am no longer using the trackpad on my macbook and using a separate wired apple keyboard instead. I miss the scrolling functionality on my trackpad, I'm having to make do with the keyboard (the mouse is too far away for efficient scrolling). Is there a way to map a key combination (such as cmd+pagedown) such that I scroll up/down half a page instead of a full page? Even better, is there a way to map key combinations to arbitrary scrolling distances? Thanks for your time

This question (answered by KronoS) tells how to change the delay time before the popups occur when hovering over the open application icons on the taskbar. However, this registry tweak does not work to speed up the desktop peek functionality when the mouse is moved over the 'desktop' area of the task bar. Any idea how to speed up this function?

  • Optionally open folder in new window in vista using keyboard key

    In XP, to ensure a folder opened in a new window, I held down CTRL when I opened (by mouse or keyboard) the folder. This action is so ingrained to me, I pretty much don't even realise I'm doing it at a conscious level. Unfortunately, this action apparently hasn't made it to Vista.     Using Synergy-plus-1.3.4 on Gentoo Linux kernel 2.6.36-tuxonice-r3. Using SHIFT+CAPS to change keyboard layout on BOTH server and client boxes. Works perfectly if change layout using attached keyboard. But when using synergy keyboard (moved mouse from server screen to client and changing with SHIFT+CAPS) it has no effect. Synergy is just amazing thing exception this small issue which I'm assured is solvable. Please, gimme some hint.

    Hi, I wonder if the following things can be done with the HTML notes pane of freemind: Is it possible on the layout view to decrease the separation between lines? The panel is horizontal, is it possible to setup a vertical view? (I have a big, horizontal-like monitor) By the way, when I move the mouse pointer over a node, i can see the HTLM note associated with it, but its view (as a yellow square) only lasts for some seconds.     my new seagate sata drive keeps showing as a 249gb drive but in the setup part when i press del at the boot up it states there a 3000gb drive and i have searched for a solution but havent found one yet. I havent tried in a different pc yet and I have an asus gaming board with 2 video cards sli'ed and i have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit with 8gb ram and a hp 23" widescreen monitor and the sniper gaming case and a salitek lighted up gaming keyboard and a razor death adder gaming mouse and a corsair 850 watt power supply.   • Disable Charm bar's Touchpad gesture shortcut

    I'm using an Acer AO722 laptop. Everytime I slide my finger from the right edge of the touchpad (where the slider is) toward the center (mostly accidentally), the charmbar pops up and stays on the screen until I manually click on some random spots on the screen. There's no such option in the Synaptics properties: .. nor is there any in the mouse option. Is there a way to turn this shortcut off?
