LINQ-to-SQL - C# - OnValidate()

Hello, I have a system with 3 layers and I am using LINQ-to-SQL to persist. I want to validate if the description field of my object is empty. I am using partial classes and the method OnValidate(). If the field is empty, it throws an exception. Is this correct? What do I do after the exception to not close the form, letting the user continue working? Is there a way with the JQueryValidation plugin to set the input css class error. This css class is different from the label css error class. Because if I set : errorClass: "field-validation-error" That will apply for label and input. I would like input to have "input-validation-error" css class and label to have "field-validation-error" css class.

I need to let users select an item from a dropdown list, but also allow them to instead enter any text, even if it doesn't match an item in the list. How can I achieve this on a web page with HTML and Javascript? The select field doesn't let users enter text, and the input text field doesn't show the preferred alternatives. All items must show if the user opens the dropdown, so it can't be a simple auto-complete that only shows matching items.

Now I need to send in the body part, a part of a stylesheet (for instance the area from A1:B20). This area has colors, bold font. CI pagination, POST problem

Okay, I am pretty new in CI and I am stuck on pagination. I am performing this pagination on a record set that is result of a query. Now everything seems to be working fine. But there’s some problem probably with the link. I am displaying 10 results per page. Now if the results are less than 10 then it’s fine. Or If I pull up the entire records in the table it works fine. But in case the result is more than 10 rows, then the first 10 is perfectly displayed, and when I click on the pagination link to get to the next page the next page displays the rest of the results from the query as well as, other records in the table. ??? I am confused.. Any help?? Why is the ( ) mandatory in the SQL statement select * from gifts INNER JOIN sentgifts using (giftID); ? The ( ) usually is for specifying grouping of something. But in this case, are we supposed to be able to use 2 or more field names... in the example above, it can be all clear that it is 1 field, is it just that the parser is not made to bypass the ( ) when it is all clear? (such as in the language Ruby).

I need the PHP code to match [city] - [zip] Not sure how to do this I can find the Zip after the Hypen but not sure how to find the City, please note the City can be 2 words.
