  • C# getting the results from an asynchronous call

    I have an API that I'm working with and it has limited documentation. I have been told that some of the methods that it executes are called asynchronously. How can I get the result of these asynchronous calls. Note that I am not doing anything special to call them, the API handles the asynchronous part. But I can't seem to get a "reply" back from these calls - I'm assuming that's because they are in another thread.

    i have an application, and in my urls.py i have something like that: urlpatterns = patterns('', url(r'^profile_view/(?P<id>\d+)/$', profile_view, name='profile_view'),) meaning that the profile_view function has id as a parameter. Now, i want to call that function from my template, using a link like Reply The problem is that i don't know how to use the above url as a link, meaning how can i 'pass the id parameter to a link'? thank you

    Hi, I'm going to build an installer to deploy my application which is a Windows executable file(not a MSI file). I'm using NSIS. This application targets French people and "install" word is close to "installation" in French. Is there a filename convention? What is the best choice for you? There are two threads, one for capturing data from std input and sending it through socket to server, and another one which receives data from blocking socket. So, when there's no reply from server, recv() call waits indefenitely, right? But instead of blocking only its calling thread, it blocks the overall process! Why this thing occurs?
