  • Problem with javascript in firefox when moving google ads

    hi. i have a website with google ads on it. i would like to make it load faster. thus i moved all the google scripts to the bottom of the page. i also have a placeholder at the location where the ad(s) should be displayed and other divs that (initially) get the ads. finally (in window.onload) i'm moving the ads that have just be fetched from google to their target locations. (a simple example page is here: http://www.nickles.de/temp/ads.html ) this works in ie, but it doesn't work in ff. (that is, in firefox, non-text ads show up fine, while text-ads don't. [or at least, not in a reliable way.]) any ideas what would be causing this? Thanks! -thomas woelfer

    I am using vim/gvim for 4 months already and now I found a way to use it's strengths. My tags file is generated very well and here is a simple row in it. my.namespace.classname /path/to/file.js /^my.namespace.classname = function(first_arg,$/;" f Here is an example what i need to omnicomplete: my.namespace.cla <- omnicomplete list with all classnames in the my.namespace The above is the key to my problem, because it looks like omnicomplete searches only namespace without including "my." in front of it. So i see other element in the omnicomplete list and not my classname at all. However, if i type :tag my.namespace.classname for example gvim opens the correct file at the correct position. What is wrong and how can I make it work?

    I am storing a JSON string in the database that represents a set of properties. In the code behind, I export it and use it for some custom logic. Essentially, I am using it only as a storage mechanism. I understand XML is better suited for this but I read that JSON is faster and preferred. Is it a good practice to use JSON if the intention is not to use the string on the client side?

    Hi, I'm using CurvyCorners to make my corners curvy in IE, only thing is that when it reads the CSS it takes all the webkit properties and shows me an alert curvyCorners.alert("No object with ID " + arg + " exists yet.\nCall curvyCorners(settings, obj) when it is created.");. It seems like HandleScope is not designed to be used in multithreaded applications. I can use the v8::Locker and v8::Unlocker methodes but that would always give me execution traces as this: t1: a = 1 t1: b = 2 t2: a = 1 t2: b = 2 I hope someone can give me a hint on getting this code multithreaded so that a possible execution trace could like this: t1: a = 1 t2: a = 1 t1: b = 2 t2: b = 2 Thanks already in advance! When I open it on my local pc, it works, but when I do the same thing in a browser on a Terminal server, I get Access Denied.     Hi all, Yesterday I managed to solve this, then lost a day's work due to the death of a HD. Now I cannot remember what I did to fix it, but I know it can be done. Input: string date in the format 'm/d/yy', eg '12/25/10', or '4/1/10' (1st April) Output - Date object I'm working with date.js and date.format.js so have Date.fromString() and Date.format() avaiable. But trying multiple combinations is not giving me what I need. IF the date were 'mm/dd/yy' then it's simple. But I'm using jquery.datepicker.js which outputs in 'm/d/yy' and I don't want to change this much I know this conversion can be done. After a 22 hour day... I need help. Thanks. Mark...

    I know of YUI who has a JSON.stringify utility and also of JSON2 from json.org. What are other good implementations of JSON.stringify? It should also work in IE6, IE7 and not depend on a framework. If it depends on anything this should be easily included all in one file. Edit: I could easily use jquery-json, which was suggested in the comments of the accepted answer. It did what I wanted. (It depends on jquery but that was easily solved)

    Hi, regex is bugging me right now. I simply want to replace the range=100 in a string like var string = '...commonstringblabla&range=100&stringandsoon...'; with ...commonstringblabla&range=400&stringandsoon... I successfully matched the "range=100"-part with alert( string.match(/range=100/) ); But when I try to replace it string.replace(/range=100/, 'range=400'); nothing happens, the string still has the range=100 in it... I don't get it, please help.

    Right now...the dateISO method is as follows: dateISO: function(value, element) { return this.optional(element) || /^\d{4}[\/-]\d{1,2}[\/-]\d{1,2}$/.test(value); }, but ive noticed that when a user enters something like 1991-99-99 it sees it as a "valid date" when it obviously is not. How would i change this code to have it check if the month is 01-12 and the date is 1-31?

  • Javascript - innerHTML not working with HTML select menus

    Hi guys, In my HTML page I have 2 select menus with IDs "month" and "day" - "day" is empty when the page loads, "month" has 12 options with values 1-12 corresponding to January - December. "month" has an onchange event which calls this function: function showOutboundDays(month) { if(month==4 || month==6 || month==9 || month==11) document.getElementById('day').innerHTML='<option value="1">1</option><option value="2">2</option>'; etc. up to 30 else if(month==2) document.getElementById('day').innerHTML='<option value="1">1</option>'; etc. up to 28 else document.getElementById('day').innerHTML='<option value="1">1</option>'; etc. up to 31 } (just imagine there are braces around the option tags to help you see...) I think it's pretty clear to see what I'm trying to achieve...and everything works fine apart from the innerHTML of the select with ID "day" doesn't get filled at all, regardless of what month you pick. And I know the problem is with this stage of the function because when I change the if, elseif and else code-to-be-executed to alerts or something similar, it works fine. Does anybody know what the problem with the innerHTML is? Thanks EDIT: Using Firefox 3.6

    I have a very simple function that takes a list of comma separated (x,y) points and imports them into a graph. I have FF, Chrome and IE8 installed. I use IETester to test for IE6 and IE7. // Import Data this.Import = function(data) { alert("Data in: "+data); var d; // Make sure the first and the last are start/ending parenthesis if ( (data[0] != '(') || (data[data.length-1] != ')') ) { alert("After if: "+data[0]+" "+data[data.length-1]); return false; } ... In Chrome, FF and IE8, I don't see the "After if:" alert. In IE6 and IE7, I see the following two alerts: Data in: (52,16),(100,90) After if: undefined undefined The "Data in" alert matches in all browsers. Any ideas?
