    I am using EF 3.5 with MVC. I want to made a search page, has some fields for criteria like date, int etc. What is the way in linq to entities to filter the result dynamically. If there are one parameter we can use .where(a=a.id==1) but many combination with optional param how can i load results and then pass to model.

    Is it possible to use pure Encrypting and Decrypting keys instead of private and public keys? As I know in .Net asymmetric RSA implementation private key RSAParameters parameters = (new RSACryptoServiceProvider()).ExportParameters(true) is a superset of public key. And using private key we can both encrypt and decrypt our data. But I need key only for decrypting data. How to do it? I experimented on nulling RSAParameters fields, but RSACryptoServiceProvider object can't import such parameters.

    I am calling three functions in my code where i want to validate some of my fields. When I tries to work with the code given below. It checks only for first value until it gets false result. I want some thing like that if fisrt function returns true then it should also call next function and so on.     I am currently upgrading our software to support ipv6 and in the meantime I'm expanding hostname/ip fields to the max hostname size. In sun documentation it seems like this can be up to 1025 (netdb.h:#define NI_MAXHOST 1025 - this is the recommended hostname allocation define), but when I pass a hostname of over 255 to getaddrinfo I get "getaddrinfo failed: memory allocation failure". I am testing on a Sol10 box. Ideas?

These objects end up being rendered as views (say forms) in a rich client app. I started to annotate the fields in the model objects (Java annotations) with things that let me render them as forms on the fly (e.g displayname, group, page, validvalues). What I need is a update statement that remove the ending zeros of fields like 2.0 , 12.0 , change them to their integer representation , that is 2 , 12 ...,and leave 3.45 , 67.50 unchanged .     I have a jQueryUI slider on my website that deals with price range. I have a products table in mysql that has various entries. I am using the slider to filter the results, but I need to set the minimum and maximum prices from the records in my database. Should I just generate (with php) hidden fields in my html that contain the minimum and maximum and then use jQuery to obtain them? Or is there a better way of achieving this, maybe using AJAX? However what I would like to do is instead of showing all those labels next to the input boxes (which breaks the layout) is just keep it simple and only change the colours of the input fields. When account references another object with properties the following used to work. =Fields!Account.Value.Name (Name is a property of the child object, Account is the parent object) The same expression syntax no longer works.   • How can I fix this touch event / draw loop "deadlock"?

    Just want to start out by saying this seems like a great site, hope you guys can help! I'm trying to use the structure laid out in LunarLander to create a simple game in which the user can drag some bitmaps around on the screen (the actual game is more complex, but that's not important). I ripped out the irrelevant parts of LanderLander, and set up my own bitmap drawing, something like BoardThread (an inner class of BoardView): run() { while(mRun) { canvas = lockSurfaceHolder... syncronized(mSurfaceHolder) { /* drawStuff using member position fields in BoardView */ } unlockSurfaceHolder } } My drawStuff simply walks through some arrays and throws bitmaps onto the canvas. All that works fine. Then I wanted to start handling touch events so that when the user presses a bitmap, it is selected, when the user unpresses a bitmap, it is deselected, and if a bitmap is selected during a touch move event, the bitmap is dragged. I did this stuff by listening for touch events in the BoardView's parent, BoardActivity, and passing them down into the BoardView. Something like In BoardView handleTouchEvent(MotionEvent e) { synchronized(mSurfaceHolder) { /* Modify shared member fields in BoardView so BoardThread can render the bitmaps */ } } This ALSO works fine. I can drag my tiles around the screen no problem. However, every once in a while, when the app first starts up and I trigger my first touch event, the handleTouchEvent stops executing at the synchronized line (as viewed in DDMS). The drawing loop is active during this time (I can tell because a timer changes onscreen), and it usually takes several seconds or more before a bunch of touch events come through the pipeline and everything is fine again. This doesn't seem like deadlock to me, since the draw loop is constantly going in and out of its syncronized block. Shouldn't this allow the event handling thread to grab a lock on mSurfaceHolder? What's going on here? Anyone have suggestions for improving how I've structured this? Some other info. This "hang" only ever occurs on first touch event after activity start. This includes on orientation change after restoreState has been called. Also, I can remove EVERYTHING within the syncronized block in the event handler, and it will still get hung up at the syncronized call. Thanks!

How can I count how many yes's their are for each column over a date range? Thanks!!

  • Drupal 6 CCK - Having a textbox appear when 'Other' is selected

The last element is named 'Other' and I would like to have a textbox appear and allow the user to enter in a non-defined value.   • Core Animation Unwanted Text Sharpening.

    Whenever I add a layer for Core Animation either from the nib or programatically, the NSTextFields (labels) in my interface get messed up. Here's a screenshot from Apple's BasicCocoaAnimations example. (Look at the text fields on the left, somehow they're drawn sharper than normal) Note that if I add a layer in IB then it also gets messed up in IB itself before I even run my app.
