I found out that I can close a window in the following way: referenceToTheFrame.hide(); //hides the frame from view refToTheFrame.dispose(); //disposes the frame from memory But if I do this way, compiler complains: Note: myProgram.java uses or overrides a deprecated API Note: Recompile with -Xlint:deprication for details.     Hi I have an Outlook form that I'd like to provide ready access to by adding a button or link to it on the outlook toolbar. How can I customize the toolbar to do this? Essentially, a single click of the button on the toolbar should bring up the custom form. This should work in Outlook 2003 and 2007 (preferably). If it only works in 2007 that would be acceptable.     I have a website where I have to click a submit button on a form. This gives me a link. I know the link is made up with the paramter that is passed through a hidden value. I was wondering if I could make a python script or something else that would go to the website and click some buttons returning the link that the submit button generates, if so how could I pass the extra parameter that influences the creation of the link? thanks in advance.

    I am trying to have a tablelayout contains several tablerows. One of the rows contains 4 buttons, while the second row contains a very long text. However, the width of the button stretches with the text in the second row.   • Whats the best way to stop this app crash when buttons rapidly pressed iphone obj-c

    Hi, I'm not entirely sure why this crash is happening and I'd like to get advice on the best way to deal with it. My app has 3 buttons. Each button requests a different XML file from a server which is used to populate a table view. If I rapidly press the buttons in sequence , button 1 button 2 button3 button 1 button 2 button3 button 1 button 2 button3 the application quits. What could be causing this. Would id be in the NSURLRequest side of things or the table view population side? How would you suggest I stop this behaviour? I was going to just set a boolean "isRequesting" to true when a button is pressed and set it to false when the table view is finished populating. If any button is pressed while isRequesting is True they do nothing. Does that sound wise or is there a better way? Thanks, dub

    I'm trying to filter button events based on whether they have a CSS class assigned to them or not. Assume I have a button like this: <button id="save-button" class="ui-state-default ui-corner-all">Save</button> I want to get jQuery to select all buttons that currently do not have a class of "ui-state-disabled". The selector I'm using looks like this: $('#save-button:not(.ui-state-disabled)').click(function() { ... }); When the button is clicked, I'll call a different function, do some stuff and then add the class 'ui-state-disabled' to the button. However the button still continues to accept click events. I'm guessing this is because of two possible causes: The event binder looks only at the initial state when binding the click event and doesn't recognise that a new class has been added later on My filter ['... :not(.ui-state-disabled)] is not correct Any observations?

    Hi, I have this code: $(preview-button).click(...) $(preview-button).slide(...) $(preview-button).whatever(...) Is it a better practice to do this: var preview-button = $(preview-button); preview-button.click(...); preview-button.click(...); preview-button).slide(...); preview-button.whatever(...); It probably would be better practice to do this for the sake of keeping code clean and modular, BUT does it make a difference performance wise?   • OptimisticLockException in inner transaction ruins outer transaction

    I have the following code (OLE = OptimisticLockException)... public void outer() { try { middle() } catch (OLE) { updateEntities(); outer(); } } @Transactional public void middle() { try { inner() } catch (OLE) { updateEntities(); middle(); } @Transactional public void inner() { //Do DB operation } inner() is called by other non-transactional methods which is why both middle() and inner() are transactional. As you can see, I deal with OLEs by updating the entities and retrying the operation. The problem I'm having is that when I designed things this way I was assuming that the only time one could get an OLE was when a transaction closed. This is apparently not the case as the call to inner() is throwing an OLE even when the stack is outer()->middle()->inner(). Now, middle() is properly handling the OLE and the retry succeeds but when it comes time to close the transaction it has been marked rollbackOnly by Spring. When the middle() method call finally returns the closing aspect throws an exception because it can't commit a transaction marked rollbackOnly. I'm uncertain what to do here. I can't clear the rollbackOnly state. I don't want to force create a transaction on every call to inner because that kills my performance. Am I missing something or can anyone see a way I can structure this differently? EDIT: To clarify what I'm asking, let me explain my main question. Is it possible to catch and handle OLE if you are inside of an @Transactional method? FYI: The transaction manager is a JpaTransactionManager and the JPA provider is Hibernate.

  • How to see the properties of a DOM element as they change in realtime?

    JavaScript code can update the properties/attributes of DOM elements in real time by responding to events and so on. Here is an example. In the table on that page, move your mouse over the cells. Notice how they change color when the mouse is on them, and the color goes away when you move the mouse to another cell. Now, using Firefox or Chrome (but not IE, Opera, etc.), I want to examine the background color, expressed in RGB or hex or whatever, of the cells updated in real time, as the mouse cursor enters and leaves the region and causes the JS to do its thing. The behavior that I observe, currently, is that the Inspect Element functionality of both Firefox and Chrome does not update the value of the properties as they are updated by JavaScript. So, in order to view the latest value of the property, I have to inspect the element again, and it takes a momentary "snapshot" of the values. But since the values only change while I have the mouse on them, I can't take a snapshot of the value I want while my mouse cursor is over the cell, because I have to remove my mouse from the cell to select the "Inspect Element" item in the right-click list! If it is possible to have the values updated in real time using either Firefox or Chrome, or an extension, on any recent version of the software (up to the latest stable), please provide instructions for doing so.
