• Tree View WIKI replacement solution for SharePoint like Confluence?

  Hi to all, I keep my Process Documents on SVN and I want to create a Wiki page includes the information about these files. We use SharePoint in the company for basic document sharing and team sites. As it is mentioned in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/256407/what-are-your-biggest-complaints-about-sharepoint SharePoint Wiki lacks of usability. I need an easy to use wiki tool which is capable of showing the content like WikiPedia contents and it would be great if I could have the SharePoint tree view and Active Directory authentication also. I googled it and found Atlassian's Confluence and it seems that this product is capable of the requirements. We use Jira for issue tracking, so we can use it's reporting in dashboards. I need and it has a Wiki part which displays wiki pages in tree view. It should be like Does anyone used Confluence or have an idea for other products which meets my requirements

• Eclipse: What is the minimum Eclipse installation needed for a headless PDE build?

  Hi, I am currently using PDE build in headless mode to build my OSGI Bundle project. The PDE Antrunner task uses an Eclipse installation and I am just pointing it to my local Eclipse installation. unfortunatelly my eclipse installation is about 260MB big, but I assume that a PDE build does NOT require all of those plugins in a standard eclipse installation. Does anyone now what is the minimum list of plugins I need for doing a headless PDE build? All of my dependencies I actually have in a custom target platform folder, so I guess the only thing I need from my eclipse installation are the dependencies which PDE build actually needs. But what are those? Can I shrink my installation to a very minimum? My goal is to also check-in this "build-eclipse" folder into my project's SVN so that when you check it out, you have everything you need to start a full build, without touching any build.properties. But I don't want to commit 266MB of eclipse if I maybe need only 20MB of it. Thanks Christoph

• Quick question on session security.

  Hey guys, I was scanning my site for security and I noticed that it was possible for non users to send requests and post information, so I decided to put login checks on all information posts. I was wondering if it was a good way to keep a session id that is created by md5(uniqid()); in a session variable $_SESSION['id']=md5(uniqid()); for each user and then store that in a database under active users for that user. Then when a user tries to insert information, verify that their $_SESSION['id'] variable is equal to the one in the database where the username equals their $_SESSION['username']. What are your ideas on this guys? Thanks in advance!

If the connection is successful, I can verify that ServerConnection.ConnectTimeout is set to 2 (seconds), but when I supply a bogus name for the SQL Server instance, it still attempts to connect to it for ~ 15 seconds (which is I believe the default timeout value). Does anyone have experience with setting SMO connection timeout? Thank you in advance.

• Installing Recaptcha in Joomla 1.5 user registration

  I am trying to install ReCaptcha into the user registration of Joomla 1.5. This may just be an issue with Joomla but when i hit register nothing happens. I think it's doing some JavaScript form validation but there is nothing telling the user what went wrong. if, God forbid, they do fill out the form correctly Joomla will redirect the user to the homepage and give no notice of success. Is this a Joomla issue or is there something wrong with my install? Does anyone know of a plug-in or module for Joomla that would make this easier? Thanks in advance, Samuel UPDATE: Joomla does a lot of "stuff"/"something" to the $_POST and $_GET variables which was causing the reCaptcha to not function. • Which is more user friendly: TortoiseGIT or TortoiseHG?

  I have been experimenting with using Mercurial and TortoiseHG to track my work when I am working remotely (with a slow VPN I don't want to commit to SVN unless I have something that works). I have found TortoiseHG a bit hard to use - or at least it often doesn't work the way I expect it to, so I am considering switching to GIT and TortoiseGIT. (For example I had problems rolling back source code to an earlier version and I still don't know what I did wrong) My question whether they have a similar level of functionality / user friendliness or whether one is better than the other. What has your experience been?

• Drupal localhost redirecting to www.localhost.com

  Hey! I am working on a drupal site which I checked out (svn) to my localhost. Now the problem is that when I go to: http://www.site.com it all works fine, but when I go to: http://localhost/work/site I get redirected to http://www.localhost.com/work/site I have ran the install.php script and all works great. It reinstalls everything but when I go to the main site the redirect occurs. I removed the .htaccess file, didn't do anything. I am using windows 7 ultimate 64 (also tried on winxp pro 32) apache 2.2, php 5.2.13 Anyone know anyway to fix this? Thanks

• Get timestamp from Authenticode Signed files in .NET

  We need to verify that binary files are signed properly with digital signature (Authenticode). This can be achieved with signtool.exe pretty easily. However, we need an automatic way that also verifies signer name and timestamp. This is doable in native C++ with CryptQueryObject() API as shown in this wonderful sample: How To Get Information from Authenticode Signed Executables However we live in a managed world :) hence looking for C# solution to the same problem. Straight approach would be to pInvoke Crypt32.dll and all is done. But there is similar managed API in System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates Namespace. X509Certificate2 Class seems to provide some information but no timestamp. Now we came to the original question how can we get that timestamp of a digital signature in C Sharp?

• Convert Microsoft Visio Drawing (vsd) to PDF automatically

  An open-source project I am working on uses Visio drawings for documentation, which are checked into source control. For those working on the project who don't own Visio, we have been converting the vsd files to PDFs so that they can still view them. It's not too difficult to save a copy as a PDF when making changes to the documentation, but we would like an automated way to do this conversion, so that we can set it up as a pre-checkin script in the SVN client. If anybody knows of a way to do this, either using something built-in to Visio, or with an outside script or command line tool, we would appreciate it. Edit: Thanks to the suggestion below, I have found the Visio Viewer 2010. This will be helpful for our contributors using Windows. We would still like to have the ability to create PDFs though, as there are readers available on every major operating system, and our contributors will not be using only Windows.

Developer checks the comments and makes changes (if appropriate) Developer keeps an excel sheet report for considered changes and reasons for ignored comments Problem: Developer needs to keep track of multiple labels which might have same comments Sometimes we even do One on One review and if we really have time, even do Table review (team of reviewers looks at the code on projector, on the fly, and pass comment) I was wondering: Are you guys using any specific tool which helps to do code reviews smoother?   If I have the following pylons controller: def challange(self): response.status = '401 Unauthorized' return 'You are not logged in.' I would expect to see 'You are not logged in.' But I see : Unauthorized This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document you requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser does not understand how to supply the credentials required. WSGI Server I have disabled the pylons error middleware. But the wsig server seems to be modifying the response. How do I stop this?

• WebDAV auto-versioning in Git or Hg or any modern VCS

  I just recently learned of SVN's auto-versioning feature for WebDAV. Although I understand this is not replacement for proper versioning, with messages documenting change sets, it strikes me as a solid and safe replacement to Dropbox (minus nice GUIs and web pages). However, since commits in auto-versioning are frequent, I'd imagine that Git or Hg would be better suited for this, just because of their more compact databases (although I wonder if the distributed nature of things could make the automation ugly for resolving conflicts). Is this a feature that has been implemented using Git or Hg, as far as anyone knows?

• Facebook friends.getLists failing

  Hi all, I'm trying a simple request on Facebook to return all my friend lists. I'm trying this in Facebook's test console, as well as through an iPhone app i'm working on. friends.getLists (also alternatively through FQL) SELECT flid, name FROM friendlist WHERE owner=4810796 I am currently logged in, so using that number should be valid. Both are returning an empty list (not erroring out), but I am certain that I have a few friend lists set up. I've also tried using this with a test account I set up, but got the same results. I could have sworn this command was working earlier. Can anyone please either verify or reject that this is happening for them? Thanks.

• Uninstall Mono from Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard

  I installed Mono on my iMac last night and I immidiately had a change of heart! I don't think Mono is ready for prime time. I found in the Spring documentation @required which I attempted to use in a 'test' but got this stmt INFO XmlConfigurationProvider:380 - Unable to verify action class [xxx] exists at initialization I have found another way in spring to do this is to write custom init methods and declare those on the bean but it almost seems like this is a strange thing to do to a struts2 action. In my application I inject through spring different web services (via setter injection) into different actions. I want to ensure on startup these are not null and set.

• Sparse checkout in Git 1.7.0?

  With the new sparse checkout feature in Git 1.7.0, is it possible to just get the contents of a subdirectory like how you can in SVN? I found this example, but it preserves the full directory structure. Imagine that I just wanted the contents of the 'perl' directory, without an actual directory named 'perl'. -- EDIT -- Example: My git repository contains the following paths repo/.git/ repo/perl/ repo/perl/script1.pl repo/perl/script2.pl repo/images/ repo/images/image1.jpg repo/images/image2.jpg repo/doc/ repo/doc/readme.txt repo/doc/help.txt What I want is to be able to produce from the above repository this layout: repo/.git/ repo/script1.pl repo/script2.pl However with the current sparse checkout feature, it seems like it is only possible to get repo/.git/ repo/perl/script1.pl repo/perl/script2.pl which is NOT what I want. • WCF Message Debugging on Custom Binding

  I've created a custom binding in WCF for a custom MessageEncoder to allow messages to be written as XML using a wider range of encodings than WCF supports out of the box. The encoder appears to be working and I am able to send and receive messages, but I want to verify that the XML message being written is exactly as required by the service I am trying to consume. I've turned on message logging for WCF using the diagnostic trace listeners to output the messages sent and received over the wire to a log file. Unfortunately, for calls using my encoder, the message is displayed as ... stream ... EDIT: I don't think it's anything to do with my custom encoding. I have experimented with my custom binding a little, switching to using the built-in text encoding and http transport. I still don't get a message body logged in the message trace. Is there anything that needs to be specified within a custom binding to enable message logging?

  I have a file named index.php which using a mysql server gets a simple username. The mysql server is running on centOS and I have two different systems running apache serving as web servers. One is my own windows pc using a "wamp" solution which uses the mysql server refereed before and the other is the centOS server itself. I use this so I can develop in my laptop and run the final on the centOS box. The problem is this: Accessing centOS box I get (on hxxp://centos): out_sider 1lu?s 2oi Using wamp on windows I get (on hxxp://localhost): out_sider 1luís 2oi The mysql database is configured correctly seeing that both use the same and I used svn repository to move files from windows to centOS so the file is the same. • Create creative diagrams or find someone creative

  This question might be slightly non-techy/dev, but I am sure many of you had a similar problem. We code, write test-cases, put comments in source-code (!), put messages in svn commit, write comments in tracked issues. We create ERD/class/usecase/.. diagrams with whatever tool. We might write user-manuals, wikis, guidelines,.. Not everyones cup of tea, but usually practice makes a good tech writer (I experienced that). Now comes the point: Once in a while we need to supply system overview diagrams, drawings of architecure,.. that look appealing to non-technical people, and no, we dont have a marketing department with designers waiting for our input or a $$$$ design company doing our corporate design. If I try to do that, it a) takes forever b) I might not have the tools and c) looks like crap and not like something I want to see in a slideshow. Whats your experience or recipe ? Is there something like RENT-A-DESIGNER ? cheers

• how to parse jquery ajax xhtml response?

  Sorry if this has been posted many times. But I've tried many variations and it still doesn't work. The HTML comes back from the jquery AJAX call fine and I am trying to remove the header and footers from the response using: // none of these work for me $("#content", data); $("#content", $(data)); $(data).find("#content").html() I've breakpoint the response to verify the #content exists by inspected $(data) and using alert to print out the data's text. I've also try using "body" or "a" as selectors, but it always come back as undefined. I've read in this post that you can't pull in the full XHTML document: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1050333/jquery-ajax-parse-response-text. But I can't find the answer's quote anymore, maybe it's outdated? Has anyone ran into this problem? Many thanks, Steve

• Problem fetching contacts from Yahoo! Address Book using PHP's CURL.

  Hi I had to get the user's yahoo address book using PHP's CURL when user gave login name and password. It was working fine. Address book has been got as CSV format. But now suddenly things are stop working. I am just getting some yahoo's html code instead of CSV format. I am guessing that yahoo is somehow restricted fetching address book using CURL. I did one experiment that I manually did the import contacts from Yahoo service. Before importing contacts yahoo shown the CAPTCHA to verify. I guess this CAPTCHA mechanism is recently added. Is this CAPTCHA mechanism preventing to get the address book when I am using PHP's CURL? Actually I do not want get address book using Yahoo OAuth or BBAuth. Any one have idea?
