Hi,
both abstract and virtual are going to be override in child class than whats a difference.
is it Virtual method have body and abstract is just a signature ????
I had an Virtual Machine running in Azure for a couple of weeks and suddenly it stopped responding. I shut it down and tried to restart it but that failed saying the VM faulted. I then deleted the VM which leaves the VHD file intact on my storage account.
I was intending to try recreating a new VM using thie VHD from the first VM however, the OS disk and Data disk are both still marked as being attached to the original VM which no longer exists.
Is there any way to detach these disks so I can use them to create a new VM?
Hi,
I have a question about how to store the assembly language in memory,when I compile the C-code in assembly, and run by "step", I can see the address of each instruction, but is there a way to change the start address of the code in the memory?
Second question is, can I break the assembly code into two?
I am curious about how the machine store the assembly code.
BTW, I am working on a MACBOOK Pro, duo core.
Thank you.

I have programed an application on windows XP and in Visual Studio with c++ language.
In that app I used LoadResource() API to load a resource for giving a file in the resource memory.
It returned a pointer of memory block and I wanna cast the pointer to the std stream to use for compatibility.
Could anyone help me?
Is there a way to read a large text file (~60MB) into memory at once (like a compiler flag to increase program memory limit) ? Currently, ofstream's open function throws a segmentation fault while trying to read this file.
ifstream fis;
fis.open("my_large_file.txt"); // Segfaults here
The file just consists of rows of the form
number_1<tabspace>number_2
i.e., two numbers separated by a tabspace.
Hi I recently installed a HP ML350G6 Server with Windows Small Business Server 200864bit, Exchange 2007. The server was running fantastically and we transferred all user data onto the new server and no problems for 2 weeks!
We then installed SQL2008 and transferred the accounts package onto the server and this is where the problems started. Users are now complaining to open a work document can take 2 minutes and the same with regard to anything else.
The server itself seems fine, the virtual server seems fine! No disk performance problems (doesn't go above 50% unless i really copy lots of things), no memory, (12Gb only using 7Gb) cpu (usage is low average about 15%) etc on both the VM and in Windows Task manager. I have made sure disk caching is enabled on the raid controller (which made no difference). Network cards are running 1Gb and plugged into HP GB switch. Please help!
Hi,
I wanna do some local developer tests of IIS 7 but I don't have Windows Vista, 7 or 2008 server - I currently run XP SP3.
I have Virtual PC installed so I can use Microsoft's IE compatibility images - are there any time-limited images that I can use with Virtual PC so I can check out IIS 7?
The IIS 7 "Try it" link points to this page. But the VHS is for Windows Server platforms only I think and I don't want an ISO?
Any advice?
It seems like I've been plagued with memory usage issues most of the time I've been blogging (7 years). I upgraded my hosting to a HostGator VPS and still seem to have issues.
I have about a dozen WP 3.4.2 sites running within a single account. Each has a separate installation.
I finally installed TPC! Memory Usage within one of my WP installs to see what was going on. The memory usage just standing still is on the order of 40 MB.
This seems high, but I don't know. What would be a reasonable memory usage for these WP installs? Do I need to take other things into account, or am I even looking at it the right way?
How to trace the Memory Leaks in Android Development? I am working on eclipse IDE to develop the application. i cant find out how to rectify the memory or window Leaks Exceptions? Any Idea.
Mainly the Window Leaked error raises the Illegal Argument Exception? how to rectify both og this. Please Help.
I can't seem to get answers to this question. I want to setup up 2-3 computers in my house to run Linux based virtual machines fed from my dedicated Arch Linux server. I need them to have full sound and video support. At my workplace we use VMware (View), but that is too cost prohibited for me to deploy for my wife and the two 10 year olds. I have tried Virtualbox machines and they are fine, but I cannot get sound working. Any help/hints would be greatly appreciated.
So for a long time now, I've been running Linux on a dual boot system with Windows 7. I don't run Windows very often, however it happens enough now that I started looking at alternatives to reboots. A friend showed me Parallels on his Mac, and I fell in love with the concept of Virtual machines. Since Sun has been in the Unix space since the beginning of time, they likely have the best solution for Linux (big assumption I know). Anyway, to avoid re-installing windows, as I have it set up the way I like it now, I was wondering if there was a way to point to the existing install and boot from that point.
Linux is installed on /dev/sda
Windows is on /dev/sdb
Having never done this before a little handholding would be great as to what step I should take.
Thanks for any help in advance!
I've created a virtual folder for a folder residing at C:\Documents and Settings\..\Data
Remote users are able to see the base folder of the FTP site, but are unable to see the Virtual folder. Is sharing a folder in the path forbidden?

Hi All,
Does anyone have a resource for C++ memory optimization guidelines? Best practices, tuning, etc?
As an example:
Class xxx {
public:
xxx();
virtual ~xxx();
protected:
private:
};
Would there be ANY benefit on the compiler or memory allocation to get rid of protected and private since there there are no items that are protected and private in this class?
If I load the data of user_x in the memory with memcache, how long will this data stay available. If a user only logs in ones a year this data is unnecessary in the memory.
Or am i looking at this thw wrong way?
I'm trying to sort a bunch of data such that that the size of data input to the program can be larger than the memory available to the JVM, and handling that requires external sort which is much slower than Quicksort.
Is there any way of obtaining memory available to the JVM at runtime such that I could use in place sorting as much as possible, and only switch to Mergesort when data input is too large?
I´m trying to set a virtual host on my windows 7 machine. The folder I want to point to is located on a centOS machine and the folder path is Z:\Websites\Online\MyClient\Site.
But something strange happens when I set the document root like this:
DocumentRoot "Z:\Websites\Online\MyClient\Site"
Apache do not restarts after that. When I take a look at the log, there is an error pointing to that line, where I added the path to the folder:
Syntax error on line 48 of C:/Program Files/Zend/Apache2/conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf:
DocumentRoot must be a directory.
There must be a way to make it work like this, by setting an Apache Installation on a machine and pointing it to a folder located on another computer, right?
My hosts file is set like this:
172.17.10.1\Data\Websites\Online\MyClient\Site MyClient.local
ANY HELP would be VERY appreciated.
i am new to SLURM. I am searching for a comfortable way, to see how many memory at an node/nodelist is available for my srun allocation.
I already played around with sinfo and scontrol and sstat but none of them gives me the information i need in one comfortable overview.
I had the idea to write a shell script, in order to fetch all fields of all jobs from scontrol and sum them up. But there must be an easier way.
Would be great if anyone has an hint or idea!
hello all,
i have a aplication on the android market , in wich exceptions and errors are catched and sent to me by acra.
But i receive quite a lot out of memory errors..
In different kind of classes...some my app, some general java..
Does this always mean there is a problem in my app, or can it also be the phone ran out of memory due to a other process?
Will users also get a fc dialog ?
thnks
i'm using xampp trying to set up a virtual host.
Here's my httpd-vhosts.conf file:
<VirtualHost *:80>
DocumentRoot "C:\Users\wbaizer\PhpstormProjects\Test"
ServerName test1.localhost
</VirtualHost>
my hosts file has the following:
127.0.0.1 test1.localhost
when I try to access test1.localhost in Chrome it gives me this message:
"You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected."
What am I doing wrong, what do I need to do, and how do I do that?
I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus 32GB. I've installed AOKP on it and it has been running pretty okay with no bugs etc...
But after I connected it too my Nintendo Wii I think it mounted sdcard as FAT32 itself :\
I'm receiving the following error when trying to download something from 4Shared sync app(But actually none can download or transfer anything to Virtual sdcard):
XXXXX.apk: open failed: EACCES(Permission denied)
I already restored my old backup wiped all data etc, nothing seems to work.
Note that I can access my sd-card, i can't only transfer, take pics... basically data.
PS: I showed 4sync problem because it was the only one that specify something
I was reading this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thread_safety
Is the following function thread-safe?
void foo(int y){
int * x = new int[50];
/*...do some stuff with the allocated memory...*/
delete x;
}
In the article it says that to be thread-safe you can only use variables from the stack. Really? Why? Wouldn't subsequent calls of the above function allocate memory elsewhere?
I currently allocate my memory for arrays using the MS specific mm_malloc. I align the memory, as I'm doing some heavy duty math and the vectorization takes advantage of the alignment. I was wondering if anyone knows how to overload the new operator to do the same thing, as I feel dirty malloc'ing everywhere (and would eventually like to also compile on Linux)? Thanks for any help
according to the newrelic faq https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/server/server-monitor-faq, The Server Monitoring agent can report Top 20 processes that are using significant memory or I/O and I can view the memory usage of the processes on the newrelic portal page.
However, I do not find any clue about how to get this metrics by newrelic REST API (I can get the CPU usage of processes by REST API). Is it possible to do this?
I'm admin of a Debian 6 virtual server. I've been trying to diagnose this problem for a while but haven't gotten anything.
The server hangs every time I want to reboot it. All services seem to be shutting down, I lose ssh connection. Then nothing. I have to restart it through the hoster's web-interface, which just gives me the options "Normal Boot" and "Rescue System".
Normal boot then brings the server back to life.
Possibly (probably?) related, the server does not boot into a newer kernel version, it's running 2.6.18 right now, but installed is actually 2.6.32.
I don't know whether it hangs on shutdown or on startup, but booting through the web-interface works (except the kernel part).
Am I missing something obvious? Where should I start looking? I have no idea how to diagnose the problem.
I read that a few databases can be used in-memory but can't think of reason why someone would want to use this feature. I always use a database to persist data and memory caches for fast access.
