    Hi, I'm wondering whether it's possible to use built in ASP.NET application services (aspnet_user, aspnet_role etc table) without specifying a connection string in a web.config. At the moment I store connection strings externally, but I keep finding hard-coded connection strings all over the web.config xml, various providers etc. It's driving me crazy. Thank you

  • Multiuser XML document "database" for asp.net app

    I was thinking about a way to allow multiple users to get CRUD access to an XML document in an asp.net app. The operations would obviously have to be made under the assumption of a multithreaded environment. For perf reasons, would it make sense to cache the document, and use a mutex on that cached version? When would changes be flushed to the physical XML document? Any and all recommendations are appreciated (also "use a database" isn't an option at this point unfortunately)

    Hi im calling an aps.net web service from a php service. The service searches both databases with a search parameter. Im not sure how to pass a search parameter to the asp.net service. Code is below.     Greetings, I have a wcf service that exposes functionality to my wpf application. This works fine. I would like to create a web version and I am wondering how can I connect from my asp.net mvc application to my wcf service? Should I use the same approach as for WPF application (which uses Proxy to connect to the WCF Service. Is there any nice article how can i do this?

    Hi, i'm creating a mvc application and i'll use under subdomain like _http://myapp.mycompany.com, this subdomain is pointing to app subdirectory, but my actions are generated with applicationPath (subdirectory) always: _http://myapp.mycompany.com/myapp/Home/About. i want _http://myapp.mycompany.com/Home/About only, without applicationPath prefix. Exists any configuration for this?? I'm using the correct methods: <%= Html.ActionLink("About", "About", "Home") % Actions rendered without ApplicationPath prefix, is possible in asp.net routing? * Please, ignore undescore prefix in urls, but i'm novice in stackoverflow and i can't post valid urls =/

    When i reset apache and load my website i get the first error below. I have no idea what the problem is. If i reload the page again (without restarting apache) i get the 2nd error, probably because the first error occurred and BaseUser is the first class/func that Application_Start uses. Why am i getting this load exception? Whats messed up is i tried using mono's VMWare img to debug it and i got the very same exception (until i restarted which now refuses to give me anything but 404 errors). However when i use mono develop to run the project the site runs PERFECT. WTF. Any ideas? Server Error in '/' Application A type load exception has occurred. Description: HTTP 500.
