• Highlight cell after modalview has been dissmissed

  I have a table view and a toolbar where items can be added to the table view. The addItemView is presented modally. Now, when i dismiss the modal view i would like to indicate which cell was added. For now i have used the setSelected and deselct methods on UITableView, but they are fired too quickly. What would be a good approach to give the user a good indication on which cell was added? Could i add a timer which prevented the setSelected method from firing right away?

  My first view displays an image and action indicator while web-servers and database function are run in that background. I want the application to go to my tab view when the functions have been completed. How do I do this? Here is what the views look like. • Delegate Method only Firing after 5 or so Button Presses?

  I'm having the most bizarre problem which I'm not even close to figuring out. I have a button which fires a delegate method. Once upon a time it was working fine, but after making some changes to my code, now the delegate method only fires after I push the button x amount of times (the changes I made to the code had nothing to do with the infrastructure that connects the delegate together). It varies, it can be 5 times to 10 times. I used the analyzer to check for memory leaks and there aren't any. There is too much code for me to paste here (I don't even know where to start or where the problem could be), but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before, or what could be causing it? This is very odd and have no clue what could be causing it.

• How should I set up UITableViewCell subclasses with UIControls in them?

  I have a dynamically generated UITableView (so I have to use prototype cells, not static cells) with many cells on it. Each cell will have a UILabel on it. Additionally, each cell will also have at least one UIControl (as of right now, it could be a UITextfield or a UISegmentedControl, but I want to keep it flexible in case I add something else in the future). I'm going to need to be able to send the text in that label, and get either the text in the textfield, or the title of the selected segment index, etc. For the cells with multiple controls, I'm going to have to also let it know what control I'm interested in for that call. What would be the best way to set this up?

• Creating app data on first use

  I once read somewhere that apps should not copy data while doing an installation but rather all data creation must be done the first time the app is used. Q1: Does this apply to Windows Mobile apps also? Q2: Is it not okay then to copy a blank database to the \appdata\product\ folder and populate it when the user uses the app or must I wait for the user to se the app to even create the database. I would think that checking the predicate would be another function call. I know these are probably similar enough to not worry about it. But Just wondering.

• Manage the scrolling of just one element in a ScrollView

  So, I have a ScrollView which has cards on it. ScrollView must be paging enabled. The goal is that the user must be able to scroll it, even if it has only one card. Since i am having the frame of ScrollView of exactly the same width and height as a picture of a card, i decided to increase the width of a ScrollView.contentSize and add one point to it. It turns out to be working fine, but it glitches a bit - when i drag the card to the left, and then grab it again it moves to right a little bit (i guess, for the value of that one point). If i increase the contentSize, the shift increases too (for example, if the content size is increased by ten, the shift value is ten points too). It really irritates me a lot and I want to get rid of it. Any advice on how to do that? Help is much appreciated. UPD: I tried to manually re-center the card in the scrollViewDidEndDecelerating but that didn't help. My guess for now is that the problem can be solved by setting the content offset to the right value (because now it's (0,0)), but I can't figure out how to do it.

What I get on the server is a file of 0 bytes.   I am new in iPhone Distribution . I created Apple ID U765UXW88D.com.edwincs.*. and provisioning profile name is MobileHealthGuide. I made these in Distribution tab. My xcode version is 3.2.4 While uploading application with application loader , I got this error Application failed codesign verification. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate. My project name is MobileHealthGuide too. I have tried revoking the certificate and provisioning profile, but the error persists. How can I solve this problem?

• managed object subclasses are not generating implementation files and are incorrectly named

  In Xcode 4.6, I generated plenty of managed object subclass files without any problem. But now that I'm trying to do it in Xcode 5, it generates only a .h file. The header file has the correct properties, but it takes the name of my project, rather than the name of the core data entity I selected. Just to be sure I hadn't forgotten something, I carefully followed these steps . What could be going on? Thanks

ViewDidLoad is not called which I am not sure why as the view is showing up on the screen just fine. Any ideas?

• Is there a way to update the height of a single UITableViewCell, without recalculating the height for every cell?

  I have a UITableView with a few different sections. One section contains cells that will resize as a user types text into a UITextView. Another section contains cells that render HTML content, for which calculating the height is relatively expensive. Right now when the user types into the UITextView, in order to get the table view to update the height of the cell, I call [self.tableView beginUpdates]; [self.tableView endUpdates]; However, this causes the table to recalculate the height of every cell in the table, when I really only need to update the single cell that was typed into. Not only that, but instead of recalculating the estimated height using tableView:estimatedHeightForRowAtIndexPath:, it calls tableView:heightForRowAtIndexPath: for every cell, even those not being displayed. Is there any way to ask the table view to update just the height of a single cell, without doing all of this unnecessary work? Update I'm still looking for a solution to this. As suggested, I've tried using reloadRowsAtIndexPaths:, but it doesn't look like this will work. Calling reloadRowsAtIndexPaths: with even a single row will still cause heightForRowAtIndexPath: to be called for every row, even though cellForRowAtIndexPath: will only be called for the row you requested. In fact, it looks like any time a row is inserted, deleted, or reloaded, heightForRowAtIndexPath: is called for every row in the table cell. I've also tried putting code in willDisplayCell:forRowAtIndexPath: to calculate the height just before a cell is going to appear. In order for this to work, I would need to force the table view to re-request the height for the row after I do the calculation. Unfortunately, calling [self.tableView beginUpdates]; [self.tableView endUpdates]; from willDisplayCell:forRowAtIndexPath: causes an index out of bounds exception deep in UITableView's internal code. I guess they don't expect us to do this. I can't help but feel like it's a bug in the SDK that in response to [self.tableView endUpdates] it doesn't call estimatedHeightForRowAtIndexPath: for cells that aren't visible, but I'm still trying to find some kind of workaround. Any help is appreciated.

• How To Create a lookup Table with an NSDate for weekly range (over 5 year period)

  Unsure how to best achieve this. NSDate *date = [NSDate date]; I need to do a lookup on the date and return a string value. 12/17/2011 < date < 12/23/2011 return "20120101" 12/24/2011 < date < 12/30/2012 return "20120102" 12/31/2011 < date < 01/06/2012 return "20120201" ... 10/20/2012 < date < 10/26/2012 return "20122301" ... 11/02/2013 < date < 11/08/2013 return "20132301" .. for 5 years... for each week date can be any date until Dec. 2017. I do not know the logic behind the return strings so I can't simply calculate the string based on the date. The return string (converted to NSDate in the model) is used successfully as my section for my fetchedresultscontroller. I am not sure how to create a lookup table based on an NSDate or if I need some monster if/case statement.

  Hi Folks, My Requirement is to manage the applications operations(install, update, remove) happens in any android device in the cloud. I could get the list all installed app in my deice through PackageManager Class. Also i am able to notified whenever any operations takes place in my device through intents filters like 'ACTION_PACKAGE_ADDED' through BroadCastRecievers. • Playing a sequence of sounds without gaps (iPhone)

  I thought maybe the fastest way was to go with Sound Services. It is quite efficient, but I need to play sounds in a sequence, not overlapped. Therefore I used a callback method to check when the sound has finished. This cycle produces around 0.3 seconds in lag. I know this sounds very strict, but it is basically the main axis of the program. EDIT: I now tried using AVAudioPlayer, but I can't play sounds in a sequence without using audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying since that would put me in the same situation as with the callback method of SoundServices. EDIT2: I think that if I could somehow get to join the parts of the sounds I want to play into a large file, I could get the whole audio file to sound continuously.   So I'm trying to load pictures from twitter. If i just use the URL in the json results without encoding, in the dataWithContentsOfURL, I get nil URL argument. If I encode it, I get %0A%20%20%20%20%22http://example.com/example.jpg%22%0A. • Should I use a separate 'admin' user as my "root sudo" or grant sudo to my 'app' user?

  I'm still wrapping my brain around the Ubuntu 'nullify root' user management philosophy (and Linux in general) and I'm wondering if I should 'replace' my root user with a user called 'admin' (which basically has all the powers of the root, when using sudo) and create another user called 'app' that will be the primary user for my app. Here's the context: I'll be running a LNMP stack on Ubuntu 12.04 Server LTS. There will be only one app running on the server. The 'app' user needs to have SUPER privileges for MySQL. PHP will need to be able to exec() shell commands. The 'app' user will need to be able to transfer files via SFTP. And I'm thinking this would be the best approach: nullify 'root' user create a user called 'admin' that will be a full sudoer of root, this will be the new "root" user of NGINX, PHP, and MySQL (and all system software) grant SUPER privileges to 'app' in MySQL Grant SFTP privileges to only the 'app' user. As I'm new to this, and the information I've found in researching it tends to be of a more general nature, I'm wondering if this is a solid approach, or if it's unorthodox in a way that would cause issues down the road.   I've been using konsole (KDE 4.2) for a while now but it crashed recently. Konsole is efficiently designed to use one instance for all of the windows for your entire X session. Extra-unfortunately, because of this ingenuity the crash brought down all the humpty-dumptys and their bashes and their bashes' applications and all the begattens' begattens all the way down to Jebodiah Springfield into one big flat nonexistent omelette. The fact that this app is capable of crashing under any circumstances is pretty disappointing. Although KDE 4.2 is not expected to be entirely stable -- and yes, I know, I should update my distro -- it's still a no-sell for me, since if at all possible, this sort of thing Shouldn't Happen to something that's likely to be a foundation for an entire working environment. Maybe this is arrogant and unrealistic, but if it's possible to have something more stable, I want it. So other than running under screen -- which is fun, nifty, and thus far flawless in its reliability, but which has some issues with not understanding certain keycodes -- I'm looking for ways to improve my environment's reliability. The most obvious strategy is to cast about for a more reliable console app. A standard featureset -- which to me includes tabbed windows, Unicode support, and a decent level of keyboard shortcut configuration -- is pretty much essential. I'm currently running gnome-terminal and roxterm, both of which have acceptable featuresets (pretty much identical, actually; I think rox is actually the superset), and neither of which have provided me with extensive, objective reliability data. Not that they were expected to. Other strategies are also welcome. Were I responding to this question I would perhaps suggest backgrounding critical tasks with & and/or disowning them so they don't come down with the global pandemic. And stuff like that.
