  • MYSQL accentuated characters é display as %E9

    Hi guys, I'm pushing data from as3 to MSQL through a little php script! My problem is that all my accentuated characters are displayed as weird iso characters. Example : é is displayed %E9 Obvisously the collation of my field is set to utf8_general_ci Even when I try to INSERT the data from a simple php script without as3, I get the same mistake. <?php mysql_connect("***", "***", "***") or die("Error :" .mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("***"); $query ="INSERT INTO test (message) values ('éèàïû')"; mysql_query($query) or die("Error updating DB"); ?> Any idea on what am I doing wrong and how I could fix that?     System is Win7x64 Pro on Core i7-920, 12GB I'm experiencing some system flakiness and am trying to pin down the cause. SMART shows zero bad sectors, zero pending reallocations on all drives Memory tests show no problems. Chkdsk fails in various different ways: When run from a normal command line (no /f option) it gets to 63% and then hangs When run on boot (autocheck) it hangs immediately on starting. Actually, the countdown timer (Press any key to skip chkdsk) gets to 1 second and the system hangs. When run from the F8 "Repair System" option (the Win7 "recovery console"), with /f, it runs to about 63% (end of stage 2) and then fails as follows:   Volume label is OS. CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)... 5068288 file records processed. File verification completed. 308 large file records processed. 0 bad file records processed. 2 EA records processed. 77 reparse records processed. CHKDSK is verifying indexes (stage 2 of 3)... 63 percent complete. (6078872 of 7562028 index entries processed) An unspecified error occurred (696e647863686b2e e19). Unable to obtain a handle to the event log. Googling and searching on Technet for the error code and "Unable to obtain a handle to the event log" both turn up nothing useful. Anybody have any info on what the problem is?

  • Disk Error on Boot (Possible boot sector issue)

    I own a 4-5 year old Dell Dimension E510 with Windows XP: Media Center Edition. I have 2 drives installed: C Drive: Windows XP: Media Center Edition G Drive: 2 partitions: Windows 7 (beta) Windows XP (professional) That is also the order they are connected. The C Drive is my primary drive. When I attempt to boot the computer, the bios loading screen appears normally; the progress bar moves and it's fine. The very next page, however, supposed to be a boot choice. When I installed Windows 7 onto the G Drive in context of the C drive it added a boot selector to the C drive's boot sequence. It gives me the option of booting Windows 7 or Windows XP: Media Center Edition. However, my problem is now this: After the bios screen I previously mentioned, instead of a boot selector, I receive the following error: A disk read error occurred. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart. The drive is spinning up normally. I hear no odd noises/clicks/scraping coming from it, even after disabling the other drive to listen to it carefully. According to me, it's a boot sector issue. I have never experienced this before, but maybe during a recent shutdown, Windows XP: MCE errored out and ruined the boot sector. Dilemma! I don't have the Windows XP: MCE disc, because it was installed by the factory. I have accessed the hidden partition on the drive before (you hit a key combination on the bios screen and it comes up with an interface to fix your drive). However, I don't want to reformat the drive (which is what the interface gives me the option to do). I want to possibly fix the boot sector. How can I achieve that?

    I am trying to make AspNetComet.zip work on IIS7 (a simple comet chat implementation) Here is a portion of my web.config. <system.web> <httpHandlers> <add verb="POST" path="DefaultChannel.ashx" type="Server.Channels.DefaultChannelHandler, Server"/> </httpHandlers> </system.web> <system.webServer> <handlers> <add name="DefaultChannelHandler" verb="POST" path="DefaultChannel.ashx" type="Server.Channels.DefaultChannelHandler, Server"/> </handlers> </system.webServer> When I publish the website on my localhost IIS7 I receive an error: POST http://localhost/DefaultChannel.ashx 500 Internal Server Error Could not load type 'Server.Channels.DefaultChannelHandler The target framework of this project is .Net 2.0 I tried the Classic and Integrated Mode application pool for .Net 2.0 with no luck. I also tried converting the project to 4.0 and tried the Classic and Integrated Mode application pool for .Net 4.0 with no luck. I also tried adding the managed handler through IIS Manager's Handler Mappings. If you have time please download the source (184kb) to reproduce the problem on your own machine. The zip contains a VS2010 solution (.Net 2.0). You could also try to convert this to .Net 4.0 I am using Windows 7 anyway if that matters. If you need more details, please drop your comments below. This is working fine by the way on my webdev server.

    Morning all, Apache on our internal development server stopped working last night. It's running, but all we get is a blank screen, no server errors. Examing the error log shows the following, [Fri Apr 23 09:13:57 2010] [notice] child pid XXXX exit signal exceeded file size limit (25) [Fri Apr 23 09:14:03 2010] [notice] child pid XXXX exit signal exceeded file size limit (25) [Fri Apr 23 09:14:03 2010] [notice] child pid XXXX exit signal exceeded file size limit (25) [Fri Apr 23 09:14:06 2010] [notice] child pid XXXX exit signal exceeded file size limit (25) After some Googling, we found that this is due to Apache trying to handle a file greater than it's maximum allowed limit, which by default is 2GB and is usually an error log. I did a search using find . -size +1000000k -ls (find all files greater than 1GB) in our log and web folders, but nothing showed up. I've also restarted Apache and rebooted the server itself serveral times. I've completely wiped the log folder and started a fresh. Nothing is working. Any ideas as to what else might be causing this? Thank you

  • Norton Security Suite Symantec Download Manager Error: "Error writing to disk"

    My broadband provider (Comcast) decided to switch their 'included with service' security suite from McAfee to Norton Security Suite. Their email directed me to a site that downloaded the Symantec Download Manager (NortonDL.exe) and that went fine. I'm running Windows 7 32-bit and running this application pops up the standard User Account Control message and the software is correctly identified as coming from Symantec. I answer 'yes' to allow the software to install and upon launch immediately get an "Error writing to disk" error. I searched the Internet for this error, but mainly I find Comcast users complaining about the same issue with no resolution other than to call Symantec. I found no one suggesting a successful workaround and it appeared that most of the support calls took up to three hours. I'd like to avoid that if possible. Ideas? To be honest, I'm getting close to bagging this installation and just moving to Microsoft Security Essentials.

    I was using a script to perform rsync in sudo crontab. The script does a 2-way rsync (from serverA to serverB and reverse). After i reboot both the server machines, the rsync is not working in sudo crontab. I also setup a new cronjob and it fails, The error is: rsync error: unexplained error (code 255) at io.c(600) [sender=3.0.6] rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes received so far) [receiver] However, when run from terminal, the rync script works as expected without issues. please help.

  • Post Error, Fixed/Removable Media Error

    Hi, I really do not know what I am missing here. I ordered parts for a new server. The board is an Intel s3420GP. From the diagnostic LEDs I get the error message: 0xB1h which corresponds to "Fixed Media: Disabling fixed media" and 0xB8h which corresponds to "Removable Media: Resetting removable media device." I can not for the life of me figure out what it is talking about. I have two identical motherboards and both gave the error message. I don't have a second CPU yet, so I can't test that. There are no beeps or anything. It seems the server resets every 10 seconds or so (the speaker does work, I put the RAM in the wrong slots on purpose to test this out, and the correct error POST code came up) Please help me, I'm not sure where else to turn or to ask

  • Ubuntu, user can't write to a directory and I don't see why not.

    I've got a directory, /var/www/someProject/backup/mysql, and I want the user mysql to write to it. Each time I try to write to it with the mysql user, I get a "can't read/write" error. Yet the directory is 777 as you can see here: drwxrwxrwx 2 aUser users 4096 2010-03-17 17:14 mysql I also tried to chown the directory to mysql:mysql, just like the home dir of the mysql user, but no luck, that changed nothing. What am I doing wrong here? Or is the mysql user limited to his home dir in some other way in Ubuntu? Been bugging me for days now, this problem so any help greatly appreciated.

    I have just post a question but I post an other one because the problem is not the one I had in thought when asking the latter. So, I am running some rails app on osx, when I run rails s, everything works fine. If I shut down the apache server (mamp) and if I run rails s again, I have this message Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/Applications/MAMP/tmp/mysql/mysql.sock', which for sure is normal. For info, my mamp server is running, and the connection must pass through /Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysql, so I aliased it by setting in my bash profile : alias mysql="/Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysql" Now, when I launch a rails generate command type, I get this message : /$root/vendor/bundle/ruby/2.0.0/gems/mysql2-0.3.11/lib/mysql2/client.rb:44:in `connect': Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) (Mysql2::Error) So how it can be ?

    I have installed Netbeans 7 on my Windows 7. In addition, the MySQL Community Server 5.6.12 is installed with the MSI installer on thesame 7 PC. The MySQL server is integrated with the Netbeans IDE. However , it is not possible to start or stop the MySQL server from the command prompt or the Netbeans IDE. I am only able to start or stop the server from the Windows 7 services tool. Also , it is difficult running SQL queries from the Netbeans IDE even though it shows there is connection with the MySQL server.
