  I am using a typical Style to display validation errors as a tooltip from IErrorDataInfo for a textbox as shown below and it works fine. <Style TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="Validation.HasError" Value="true"> <Setter Property="ToolTip" Value="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}, Path=(Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent}"/> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> But when i try to do the same thing for a ComboBox like this it fails <Style TargetType="{x:Type ComboBox}"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="Validation.HasError" Value="true"> <Setter Property="ToolTip" Value="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}, Path=(Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent}"/> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> The error I get in the output window is: System.Windows.Data Error: 17 : Cannot get 'Item[]' value (type 'ValidationError') from '(Validation.Errors)' (type 'ReadOnlyObservableCollection`1'). BindingExpression:Path=(0)[0].ErrorContent; DataItem='ComboBox' (Name='ownerComboBox'); target element is 'ComboBox' (Name='ownerComboBox'); target property is 'ToolTip' (type 'Object') ArgumentOutOfRangeException:'System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.Parameter name: index' Oddly it also attempts to make invalid Database changes when I close the window if I change any ComboBox values (This is also when the binding error occurs)!!! Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'EmpFirstName', table 'OITaskManager.dbo.Employees'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated. Simply by commenting the style out everyting works perfectly. How do I fix this?   EDIT: The memory leaks turned out to be unrelated to the crashes. Leaks are fixed but crashes remain, still mysterious. My (iPhone) app does lots of PDF loading and rendering, some of it threaded. Sometime, it seems always after I flush a page cash after getting a memory warning, the app crashes with a bad access when trying to draw a pdf page stored in an NSData object. • How to display custom view in UIActionSheet?

  I have a UIView with a date picker that I'd like to display in an action sheet. I'm using the following code: -(IBAction) button_click:(id)sender{ //UIActionSheet *sheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:@"the title" delegate:nil cancelButtonTitle:@"Cancel" destructiveButtonTitle:@"Destructive" otherButtonTitles:@"other", nil]; UIActionSheet *sheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] init]; ActionSheetController *actionSheet = [[ActionSheetController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ActionSheetView" bundle:nil]; [sheet addSubview:actionSheet.view]; [sheet showInView:self.view]; } What I get is a little bit of the top part of the new view coming up from the bottom and that's it. If I comment the two middle lines of code and uncomment the top part to display a regular action sheet, it works fine. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

  I have been strugging with this for a while, it would have been simple to do in WindowForms. I am making a IRC Client, there will be a number of Tabs one for each channel connect to. Each Tab needs to show a number of things, UserList, MessageHistory, Topic. In WindowForms i would just have inherited from TabItem, added some Custom Properties, and Controls, and done. In WPF i am having some slight issues with working out how to do it.   Hi Guys, I was having issues in log4net when i updated my solutions to .net 4.0 , and then i downloaded the source of it and built log4net and targeted it to .net 4.0 and used it in my projects. initially when i referred log4net that is targeted to run time 2.0 it complied and run the application but log did not work. now when i run my project with log4net targeted to .net 4.0 i get the error " The type initializer for 'Log4NetTest.TestLog' threw an exception." • Couldn't find 'rspec' generator

  I'm trying to install RSpec as a gem after having it installed as a plugin. I've gone ahead and followed the directions found here http://github.com/dchelimsky/rspec-rails/wikis for the section titled rspec and rspec-rails gems. When I run ruby script/generate rspec, I get the error Couldn't find 'rspec' generator. Do only the plugins work? If so, why do they even offer the gems for rspec and rspec-rails? I'm running a frozen copy of Rails 2.1.2, and the version of rpsec and rspec-rails I'm using is the newest for today (Nov 7, 2008) 1.1.11. EDIT Nov 12, 2008 I have both the rspec and rspec-rails gems installed. I've unpacked the gems into the vender/gems folder. Both are version 1.1.11.

• Problem deploying VSTO office addin

  I'm having some issues deploying a visio addin. running the VSTO file works on my computer, but whenever i try and move it to any other user's computer it throws an error on deployment. I thought it might be a setting i'd set in the porject properties so i created an entirely new plugin project and set it to display a message box on startup.   According to Apple's docs, "Subclasses need not override -[UIView drawRect:] if the subclass is a container for other views." I have a custom UIView subclass that is indeed merely a container for other views. Yet the contained views aren't getting drawn. Here's the pertinent code that sets up the custom UIView subclass: - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if ((self = [super initWithFrame:frame])) { // Consists of both an "on" light and an "off" light. We flick between the two depending upon our state. self.onLight = [[[LoyaltyCardNumberView alloc] initWithFrame:frame] autorelease]; self.onLight.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; self.onLight.on = YES; [self addSubview:self.onLight]; self.offLight = [[[LoyaltyCardNumberView alloc] initWithFrame:frame] autorelease]; self.offLight.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; self.offLight.on = NO; [self addSubview:self.offLight]; self.on = NO; } return self; } When I run the code that displays this custom UIView, nothing shows up. But when I add a drawRect method... - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { [self.onLight drawRect:rect]; [self.offLight drawRect:rect]; } ...the subviews display. (Clearly, this isn't the right way to be doing this, not only because it's contrary to what the docs say, but because it -always- displays both subviews, completely ignoring some other code in my UIView that sets the hidden property of one of the views, it ignores the z-ordering, etc.) Anyway, the main question: why don't my subviews display when I'm not overriding drawRect:? • How can I do vertical paging with UITableView?

  Let me describe the situation I am trying to do: I have a list of Items. When I go into ItemDetailView, which is a UITableView. I want to do paging here like: When I scroll down out of the table view, I want to display the next item. Like in Good Reader: Currently, I am trying 2 approaches but both do not really work for me. 1st: I let my UITableView over my scroll view and I have a nice animation and works quite ok except sometimes, the UITableView will receive event instead of my scroll view. And because, a UITableView is already a UITableView, this approach seems not be a good idea.   Hello. I am having trouble constructing a jqGrid TreeGrid using local data. • Silverlight: Scrolling with a StackPanel

  I have a grid, 3 by 3 (3 rowdefinitions and 3 columndefinitions). I want some content (a StackPanel) in one of those grid cells to scroll. I'm fairly sure this is possible but I cannot figure out how. I've tried adding ScrollViewers and Scrollbar controls to the grid cell I want to scroll, but this usually ends up creating scrolling for the entire page. Edit: My issue is more specificlly how I can get scrolling over a StackPanel.   Hello. The situation is the following. Typically I use RAD Studio 2010 for Delphi development. I have some components I would like to redistribute in binary form (*.bpl without source). But I would like people to be able to use them despite of their Delphi version. But, for example, dcu files can be used only by compiler version, which generated them. Almost the same situation is with bpl files as I know. Every bpl file will require corresponding VCLXX.bpl library depending on Delphi version. How do I make my bpls, compiled in 2010 to be able to be used in Delphi7, 2007 etc? Is the only solution to have ALL Delphi versions installed and compile bpl files separately in each?
