  • How to test chrome extensions?

    Is there a good way to do this? I'm writing an extension that interacts with a website as a content script and saves data using localstorage. Are there any tools, frameworks, etc. that I can use to test this behavior? I realize there are some generic tools for testing javascript, but are those sufficiently power to test an extension? Unit testing is most important, but I'm also interested in other types of testing (such as integration testing).

  • Is there a way to create a WCF DataContract on a third party type?

    I am migrating to wcf and trying to figure out how I'm going to declare my Data Contracts properly. Some of the types I have been demoting are from a third party that I am unable to change. Are attributes the only way to explicitly declare data contracts in wcf? I know about the auto data contract functionality in 3.5, but the books I'm readin discourage that. And besides, that way assumes all state is publically available, which is oftentimes not the case.

I need an "ok" and an "error" type sounds, I was hoping to be able to raise a simple beep and a critical stop type sound but I can only find the Beep() command which doesn't allow for differing sounds.     Sorry for the dramatic sounding title, just wanted to know if there is a way to prevent all types of PHP commands from executing EXCEPT one. For example, now when I kill a script using die() my pages look half broken because the bottom part of the page's html failed to load since it was being brought in using the include() function. So is there a way to tell PHP "don't allow any more commands to be executed except the include function" ?

  • Perl Term::ReadKey don't wait for newline

    In a perl script, I'm trying to accept input without blocking and without echoing the characters entered (The script is producing output and I want to have 'hotkeys' to alter its behaviour). I got as far as using use Term::ReadKey; ReadMode( "cbreak", STDIN ); if($input = ReadKey($pause_time, STDIN)){ #process input } But once the user types anything then the script stops until a newline is entered. I'd like the input to be processed per-character, without waiting for a newline.
