• Custom Grails Environments?

  I have been developing several Grails applications over the past couple of years. I am increasingly finding that the three grails environments (dev, test, prod) aren't enough to satisfy my needs. The more "enterprisey" your application gets, the more environments you tend to have. I tend to use 6 environments for my development cycle... DEVA //My dev DEVB //Team mates dev CI_TEST //CI like Hudson QA_TEST //Testing team environment UAT_TEST //Customers testing environment PROD //Production Im wondering if there is a way to define custom Grails environments? I dont think there is, but the feature could be handy. The way I am getting around this right now is by externalising the config to a properties file. Id imagine that this is a pretty common requirement, so how have you been dealing with your environments?

I not able to find a complete tutorial or installation which is install phpundercontrol in WAMP environment, I have no any experience about php unit test, but we know we need it. Our goal is everyday we would like to build the project, so we know where is the bug happen. We also would like to learn more collaboration between the team. I would like to ask / someone to teach, how to start install phpundercontrol in WAMP environment, or some link might be help. • Is there a certain IIS configuration required to allow a functioning .Net 4.0 ASP.Net MVC 2 Azure ap

  I just installed the Azure 1.2 tools update and would like to get to work on an Azure project running locally using ASP.Net MVC and .Net 4, but I cannot get MVC pages to load. If I just create a new Azure project in VS 2010, add a ASP.Net MVC web role, and run the application, pages never load. It appears that routing is somehow at fault as controller actions never get called, but if I add other pages to the project (like .htm or .aspx) they will load in the browser. It all works fine with a new project using .Net 3.5, MVC 2 project in the Azure development environment; it all works fine with .Net 4.0 MVC 2 project that is not running in Azure; only the combination does not work. Environment is Win 7 x64 (IIS 7.5), VS 2010, Azure tools 1.2 Is there some magic IIS setting I need to change or something? Any ideas?

Help!

We're actively developing a new product and as such we often have additions or changes to our DB schema. We also have many copies of the DB -- one for the test environment, one for the prod environment, dev environments, you name it. We don't really want to have to blow away test data every time we want to make a change to the DB. s Are there good ways of automating this or handling this? • Resizing image with Python with locked aspect ratio

  How should I resize an image with Python script so that it would automatically adjust the Height ratio to the Width used? I'm using the following code: def Do(Environment): # Resize App.Do( Environment, 'Resize', { 'AspectRatio': 1.33333, 'CurrentDimensionUnits': App.Constants.UnitsOfMeasure.Pixels, 'CurrentResolutionUnits': App.Constants.ResolutionUnits.PixelsPerIn, 'Height': 1440, 'MaintainAspectRatio': True, 'Resample': True, 'ResampleType': App.Constants.ResampleType.SmartSize, 'ResizeAllLayers': True, 'Resolution': 72, 'Width': 1920, }) Using this code works perfectly if the aspect ratio of an image is the same as the one defined in the code - i.e. 1.33333. But how should I make it work with images that do not have this ratio? For me, what is important is that the new Width is 1920; Height has to be able to adjust automatically. Any ideas which part of my code should be altered and how?

• Modify installed SharePoint feature

  I have written a sequential workflow in SharePoint on our development environment. After testing, we decided to deploy this workflow as a feature on the staging environment. We did the following: copied the strongly named assembly to the GAC using gacutil copied feature.xml and workflow.xml to WebServerExtensions/12/templates/features/someFolder installed feature (stsadm command) activated feature (stsadm command) All worked exactly as planned and the workflow behaved correctly. The problem was, we decided to change something in the code (a message was not very self explanatory), so on the development machine we updated the message as requested and rebuilt the project. The problem is, we cannot seem to find a way to correctly get rid of the previous version of this workflow/feature. To deploy the upgrade, we: deactivated and uninstalled the feature (stsadm commands), removed also from GAC. increased the version of the assembly performed steps 1 to 4 from above. When using the workflow we are still getting the first message, we cannot find a way to get the new message to be displayed. What are we missing?

  I am looking for a bare-bones pdf viewer example using the QuickLook Monotouch API. I have searched and have found bits and pieces but just can't seem to get it all integrated. I will be reading the pdf from a file pre-saved to the Personal folder on the iPad and would like to show the pdf as a modal view. If someone could post a bare-bones example, that would be much appreciated. What I have so far is below.   Hi all, I'm trying to use the StoreKit API in OS3.0 for the iphone to do in app purchase. However, I'm getting the following error when trying to purchase something in the SANDBOX ENVIRONMENT. The item you tried to buy is no longer available [Environment: Sandbox] Here's the code I use to do the payments: SKPayment* payment = [SKPayment paymentWithProductIdentifier:model.productId]; [[SKPaymentQueue defaultQueue] addPayment:payment]; I've also queried storekit for the list of available products and that seems to work just fine returning the same product identifiers that I'm now using to purchase the item. I have all the products setup in iTunes Connect and created a test user. Before debugging the app I signed out of the store in the settings menu and entered my test account and password when debugging my own app. What could be going on here?

• PHP - what is the proper way to do inline HTML variable output?

  I just moved from an Ubuntu PHP workstation dev environment back to Windows and am using xampp. I have a bit of code, like so: <input type="text" name="txtEmail" value="<?=$emailaddress;?>"/> that I swear worked to display the variable in the textbox when I was developing before. But when I loaded the page on Windows/xampp it just put that text between the quotes in the textbox. Instead, I ended up changing it to something like: <input type="text" name="txtFirstName" value="<?php echo($firstname);?>" /> The latter makes sense, but I guess I thought there was a shorthand or something, and I must be going crazy because I'm sure the first way was working on a difference environment. So what's the best way to do this?

• Finding the best folder for all users on a Windows machine

  We are making a game which will add a level editor feature soon. We want the user to be able to put levels he's downloaded in a folder and then play it in the game, without any hassle. So, we're looking for a folder that anybody can find, open, write, read, and is multiuser. On Windows Vista / 7, the folder /Users/Public/ look like a great candidate. However, It's not listed in the .net enum System.Environment.SpecialFolder. I have went through them all, and checked what they yield on different Windows versions, and none live up to my requirements. I did find Environment.SpecialFolder.CommonApplicationData, that kinda works, but that folder is hidden (C:\ProgramData) and I assume most users don't display hidden folders. As it stands now, it looks like we'll have to settle for the personal documents folder, but we'd really like a multi user folder? Anyone have any tips? (Hard coding c:\Users\Public\ is out of the question, it will only work on english systems)

• Problem running gems in OS X

  I'm running Snow Leopard, and installed a custom built Ruby according to the guide here: http://hivelogic.com/articles/compiling-ruby-rubygems-and-rails-on-snow-leopard . My ruby binary lives in usr/local/bin/ruby and my gems are installed in /usr/local/bin/gem . My gem env looks like so: RUBY VERSION: 1.8.7 (2008-08-11 patchlevel 72) [universal-darwin10.0] - INSTALLATION DIRECTORY: /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8 - RUBY EXECUTABLE: /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/bin/ruby - EXECUTABLE DIRECTORY: /usr/bin I think I may have borked the install since all actions taked on gems give the error: ERROR: While executing gem ... (Errno::EEXIST) File exists - /usr/local/bin/ruby How do you edit the environment variables for the gem environment? And for those of you on OS X and using ruby AND gems, what did you use to get yourself up and running? I'm thinking of just nuking everything and starting anew.

• Subsonic and the VB.net 2005 interop toolkit

  I have an application I am converting over from vb6 to vb.net 2.0/3.5. Using Subsonic 2.2 and the vb.net Interop Toolkit 2005. Cannot seem to get the .net form using subsonic to work inside the interop environment. It keeps saying it cannot find the subsonic service provider in the app.config. But I know it is there. Has anyone used these two toolkits together successfully? Will subsonic even work inside the interop environment in that way? Thanks in advance!

• Latex: stretchable curly braces outside math

  Hi, I am producing some latex beamer slides (but I think it is not a beamer specific question per se). I have the following: \begin{itemize} \item Issue1 \item Issue2 \item Issue3 \end{itemize} Now, I want to have a right curly brace (i.e. '}') behind the items spreading over issue1 and issue2. And of course I want to write something behind that curly brace. In a perfect world I would write something like: \begin{itemize} \left . \item Issue1 \item Issue2 \right \} One and Two are cool \item Issue3 \end{itemize} This does not work because I am not in a math environment and I can not put the whole snippet inside a math environment because itemize would not work in that case. • Can documents indexed with Solr on JDK6 be retrieved using only lucene api on JDK1.4?

  My runtime environment is still on JDK1.4 but I like the Solr features related to how documents are ingested and indexed. Would I be able to index my documents using Solr offline on a recent version of the JDK, copy the index over and use it in my runtime environment with an older version of the JDK? Version wise, Solr 1.4.0 uses Apache Lucene 2.9.1 which is JDK1.4 compatible. (but Solr itself requires JDK5). Assuming what I'm trying to do is even possible, what features would I lose if I search Solr indices only with the Lucene API?

  Hi, running Sinatra 1.0, I wanted to add a database table to my program. ENV["VERSION"].to_i : nil ) end My console pukes out an error when the call to ActiveRecord::MIgrator.migrate() is made. rake aborted! undefined method `info' for nil:NilClass The migration code itself is pretty simple... and presents me with no clues as to what this missing info class is. class CreateStores < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :stores do |t| t.string :name t.string :access_url t.timestamps end end def self.down drop_table :stores end end I am a little mystified here and am looking for some clues as to what might be wrong.   Hi, I am trying to compile Webkit on Ubuntu 8.04. But when i run autogen.sh, I get the following error saying it needs a newer version of glib. So what is the safest way to install glib without screwing up the rest of my OS (since the rest needs 2.16 while webkit compile needs 2.21)? checking for GLIB... configure: error: Package requirements (glib-2.0 >= 2.21.3 gobject-2.0 >= 2.0 gthread-2.0 >= 2.0) were not met: Requested 'glib-2.0 >= 2.21.3' but version of GLib is 2.16.6 Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. connect its says's: Connection failed: Retry When i use Remote process as:10.32.222.111:4447 on the sever it prompts a warning : 16:29:48,084 ERROR [org.jboss.remoting.remote.connection] (Remoting "djd7w4r1" read-1) JBREM000200: Remote connection failed: java.io.IOException: Received an invali d message length of -2140864253 Also disabled Remote authentication: -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=12345 Still not able to connect.   I followed the Maven tutorial to the letter but I still can't get Maven installed. When I run the following in command prompt: E:\Documents and Settings\zach>mvn --version I get: 'mvn' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I navigated to the maven install folder and ran mvn --version and got: E:\java resources\apache-maven-2.2.0\bin>mvn --version ERROR: JAVA_HOME is set to an invalid directory. JAVA_HOME = "E:\Sun\SDK\jdk\bin" Please set the JAVA_HOME variable in your environment to match the location of your Java installation but when I run java -version I get: java version "1.6.0_14" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_14-b08) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode) So I do have Java installed. Anyone know what the problem is?

  I have several configuration files on Windows Server 2008 nested like such: C:\Projects\Project_1\project1.config C:\Projects\Project_2\project2.config In my configuration I need to do a string replace like such: <add key="Environment" value="Dev"/> will become: <add key="Environment" value="Demo"/> I thought about using batch scripting, but there was no good way to do this, and I heard that with PowerShell scripting you can easily perform this. I have found examples of find/replace, but I was hoping for a way that would traverse all folders within my C:\Projects directory and find any files that end with the '.config' extension. When it finds one, I want it to replace my string values. Any good resources to find out how to do this or any PowerShell gurus that can offer some insight?
