  This question already has an answer here: What are the most important things I need to do to encourage Google Sitelinks? 5 answers I run a Wordpress 3.7.1–de_DE sit, but don't have much experience with it yet. When my site comes up in a Google search, there are 2 links displayed underneath: I believe these links are called "Google sitemap" and my question is how to configure them in Wordpress. Because while the right link is pointing to the /ueber-mich URL at the website, the left link was pointing to an non-existing /imprint and I had to add that webpage as a workaround for now. And I'd like to change the /imprint to German /impressum anyway (currently I use mod_rewrite to redirect).

  I usually find that interviewers ask about expected salary on a first interview, but I usually feel uncomfortable discussing such details at an early stage. I feel that low-balling a figure might result in under-selling myself, whereas going too high might lose me the chance of a second interview. I also like time to reflect on my interview experience before vocalising my expectations. I recently realised that in one interview I prefixed my salary figure with a justification, which made me come across as a little desperate and unsure of myself. Is there a good way to defer such questions until a second interview (assuming I get one, of course) without hurting my chances or weakening my position?

• How Data Transfers differ on Smart Phones: Iphone vs. Android vs. Windows Phone

  I am interested in how each individual smart phone is allowed to handle data transfers within a third-party app. I am interested in designing apps that allow customers to update, transfer, download, etc. data from their smart phone to their personal computer and vice-versa. (Ranging from just text, to XML, to a Relational Database) I only have experience with the Ipod Touch before and one particular app that maintained all the data on an online server, so to update the data on your pc or iphone you had to go online, are there other ways to do it? Like bluetooth, wireless LAN, USB, etc? I believe Apple has certain policies on this in order to control the App Store and individual Iphones. I suppose each company has a particular policy on how an app is allowed to transfer data to another system, does anyone have a good understanding of this? Thank you.

  I'm an experienced web developer in PHP, HTML, Javascript, MySQL, CSS and I'm running communities where people can register to be able to login and do some stuff. Now more and more people are requestion an App, I told them that I have no time and experience to develope Apps with many functions for such complex communities I am running, but then the users told me what would be enough for them and this sounds already simpler to me: An app to install on Android / iOS just to be able to login (+ autologin), so they appear always online in the community when they have internet connection. Then only 1 function like a counter of new activities regarding their user account (new messages, new replies, etc..), and if they click on the app then a browser window will open to read the info at the main website. So, what you think, it will be a big thing to develope such an app for the members? Is there a big diffrence between developing for Android and iOS? How to test the App if you don't have an Android or iOS phone in example?

• Anti-depressant and programming: does it reduce your thinking and focusing abilities ?

  I wanted to ask your opinion on anti-depressants, since I took them daily for 3 years now, but I can't be sure if I'm less perfomant with them or without, since I never withdrawed. I'm still at school at the age of 25, still having some motivation problems (for example I can't get used to do something at school if I don't think it will teach me something), but I'm quite motivated to work in the video-game field, since I have some personnal projects in mind. I know C++ programming etc, I'm still learning techniques, but do you think I should try more to do my project instead of just following the work I'm assigned to ? Have you had experience with depression or anti-depressants ? How did it affect your work ? Do you think that being depressed or half-depressed can improve creativity ?   I am a software developer(sharepoint developer) with total 3 years of experience.Though using out of the box sharepoint excites me, i have aversion to code. i kinda cant put my brains in coding. i have my eyes on MBA now(only reason is to get rid of code). I wanted to rethink on this and need your expert advice and suggestions. As i am working currently in a hot skill(sharepoint 2013) technology, is it a good thought to go ahead and do MBA and change my career, or should i start liking what i do??   I have an experience in Java language and in JEE related Framework for about 5 years. In these 5 years i have worked on Core java, Spring, Hibernate, JPA, Struts 1. Now just to be prepared for the near future, i am thinking to learn some new programming language or some new technology, this will help me out to be a more elligible employee. So my question to you is, which new technology or language should i learn, my target is for next 3 years. So just in case if Java fades out (thought it won't) than i can jump on to this newly learned stuff. Where should i start from ? Should i learn some other language in JVM like Scala, Clojure, Groovy, JRuby ? Or should i learn some altogether different language like Python or Erlang, Perl ? Or new technology which is related to NoSQL, like MongoDB, Hadoop, CouchDB. Or learn few current happening things in market like RoR, Node.js, LessCss or Sass, Coffee Script ? • 12.04 Screen goes OFF and ON and hangs

  i have installed ubuntu 12.04. while i'm using the screen goes off, comes back on (during which time, the system is not responsive) and this process repeats one more time in immediate succession after which the computer is responsive again. sometimes the system hangs indefinitely. sometimes the windows go blank. only the title bars are seen. i have tried re-installing the OS three times with no improvements. i have tried both 32 bit as well as 64 bit. i have no idea what the problem is and have tried hard to pin point that. i never had this prob till 11.10 my system config is as follow processor - 2nd gen intel core i7 (2660k) graphics - intel onboard HD graphics 3000 (no external graphics card) RAM - 4GB none of my friends seem to experience this problem. it really gets annoying as it happens really often. please advice

  When your SharePoint Solution package include third party or external dlls , you will often see your solution fail to deploy due to the locking of the dlls. Today I will show you how to find which process locks your dlls using Process Explorer. 1. Here is an example that your solution fails to deploy due to dll being locked. 2. Start the explorer by double click the procexp.exe 3. From the find tab click Find Handle or DLL 4.Type the your dll name and click Search 5. I can see all the processes that use my dlls at the moment, it looks like the iis , visual studio and SharePoint timer services might be the trouble. From my experience , it could be Visual studio. 6. Close visual studio and redeploy my solution, it works like charm. Re-search the dll, you can see Visual studio is not in the results.

• Programming language for simple program?

  I am wondering about which programming languages people see fit to create a program idea that I had. I am looking to create a fairly simple program whose main functions are adding to, managing, and searching through a database of people, all through a polished GUI. It will be for use in the business world, so I think Windows would be the priority, but Mac and Linux support wouldn't be bad. Also, eventually I would like to add the ability for an instance of one program on a computer to interact with other instances on the same network, mainly through the sharing of a database. Most of my experience is in Java, but I don't particularly like the appearance of Java GUIs, so I'm looking for an alternative. I noticed that a lot of people have suggested C++ or C# in similar posts, so what are some of the advantages/disadvantages of one or both if that is your suggestion. Thanks for any help in advance.

• Elantech trackpad being identified as a logitech wheel mouse

  I recently purchased a Samsung RF510 laptop computer, which I absolutely love. However, upon installing Ubuntu 10.10 onto it I couldn't get the trackpad to function properly. It worked as a basic mouse (point and click) but had no functionality for edge scrolling or any of the multitouch settings the trackpad is capable of. After doing a lot of research I discovered the reason is a known issue where the Ubuntu kernel will improperly detect an Elantech trackpad as a logitech PS/2 wheel mouse, and as such will gain none of the functionality that seems to be coded for synaptics trackpads. The question I have is: does anyone know a way to get this working properly? This is my first time trying to run Ubuntu on a laptop (actually, it's my first laptop in the last 12 years) and I'm finding the experience to be intolerable without the basic scrolling/zooming/etc I've been used to using for as long as I can remember.

• GNOME 3.8 stutters / lags

  I recently installed Fedora 19 beta and noticed unusually laggy behaviour of GNOME Shell (3.8) on the Nouveau driver on a nVidia 9200GS (also with nVidia driver) So I thought this could be related to Fedora so I installed Ubuntu 13.04 which comes with GNOME 3.6. Everything was buttery smooth as it has always been, but once I upgraded GNOME to 3.8, I experience the same laggy performance on Ubuntu as well. I'm talking about the animations, such as the window overview in activities, openSUSE live image with 3.6 = smooth Ubuntu 13.04 live image with 3.6 = smooth Ubuntu 13.04 install with 3.6 = smooth Ubuntu 13.04 install with 3.8 = laggy Fedora live image with 3.8 = laggy Fedora install with 3.8 = laggy Does anyone have a clue what could be going on?

• Reputable web host in mainland China? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: How to find web hosting that meets my requirements? We currently have a rather poorly set up Windows 2003 box with little to no support based in Shanghai; with no control panel/mail server. I am told for legal/business reasons the host must be based in the same location as the company for the website; but this could well be misinformation. Are there any well-known, quality hosts in China that offer reliable English-speaking support? We did consider GoDaddy on the west coast of America, but were informed of the risk of the site being shut down without any notice. We don't have any technically-minded contacts out there to advise, and hoping that someone will have some more experience in this department. Thank you.

I found the following post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/416331/java-interfaces The Official Java-Tutorial and the references feature examples that are quite good but I would need a very simple example to start with for my class. I don't think the offical tutorial is the best resource for absolute beginners. The students are easily confused, and the most effective example would help.   I have made some research and found that bullet, ode, newton and some others are open source physics engines that should be portable enough (but I have never tried to comile/use anyone of them on phones). I am writing my games for mobile platforms in C++, so the engine should be C or C++. I need a fast engine, since mobile platforms have limited resources. I need a free engine. A good design would be nice to have too. What engine is best suited for my task? What I really would like to hear from you is your direct experience. Documentation and support (for example, forum or an IRC channel) is a really important aspect to take into consideration.

• Will search engines ever change to allow longer title and description tags? [closed]

  I was just wondering: The standard title length is 64 characters, while meta description tags are 150-160. I was thinking, that it was probably done like that originally because of screen resolutions back in the day, that could not really fit a lot of content. Google still displays search results in a incredible small resolution fixed to the left side of the browser, and it's simplicity is probably what makes it so popular. With websites such as bing, displaying a richer more vivid search experience, in your opinion, will search engines ever change to accept better and longer meta description tags and titles? (I'm asking because we work to accommodate their standards, but what if they change?)

  This being my first time going to TechEd and I want to make sure that I get the most out of it.  The first goal is to make sure that I get to the sessions that cover as many topics as possible.  This is important for me as a Solution Architect consultant specializing in Microsoft technologies.  To this end I have spent some time going through the sessions on the myTechEd site. The other reason for the trip is to connect with the Microsoft development community.  This includes both members of my local Midwest community and the global communities that I have only had online connections with.  Sharing the experience and getting a chance to exchange ideas with new and old friends is a great part of any convention.
