  • C# implicit conversions

    Hello, I'm currently working on an application where I need to load data from an SQL database and then assign the retrieved values into the properties of an object. I'm doing this by using reflection since the property names and column names are the same. However, many of the properties are using a custom struct type that is basically a currency wrapper for the decimal type. I have defined an implicit conversion in my struct: public static implicit operator Currency(decimal d) { return new Currency(d); } This works fine when I use it in code. However, when I have this: foreach (PropertyInfo p in props) { p.SetValue(this, table.Rows[0][p.Name], null); } It throws an ArgumentException stating that it cannot convert from System.Decimal to Currency. I'm confused since it works fine in any other circumstance.

    It is said, javascript clears a variable from memory after its being referenced last. just for the sake of this question i created a JS file with only one variable; //file start //variable defined var a=["Hello"] //refenence to that variable alert(a[0]); // //file end no further reference to that variable, so i expect javascript to clear varaible 'a' Now i just ran this page and then opened firebug and ran this code alert(a[0]); Now this alerts the value of variable, If the statement "Javascript clears a variable after there is no further reference it" is true how come alert() shows its value. Is it because all variable defined in global context become properties of window object, and since even after the execution file window objects exist so does it properties.

  • Is there a way to put Setter elements inside EventTrigger?

    Working on a WPF application, I started working on a custom ControlTemplate. I reached the point where I need to change some control properties when an event occurs. For this purpose, there are Setter elements. Seems all good, but I cannot use them inside EventTrigger elements. For example, if a simple Trigger, that can be bound to control properties, is used then Setter elements can be used inside. However, I do not want to bind to a property change but rather to an event. Is there a way to do this in pure XAML or will I have to work in the code-behind?

    What are cons if we use JavaScript to apply only CSS property/selectors to that browser who do not support that property by default? to keep my HTML semantic and keep free from Deprecated HTML. Is it against content, style and Behavior separation? If I make accessible site then should i only use whatever i can do with pure css. shouldn't use JavaScript to apply CSS properties. I know those css properties which I'm applying through javascript will not work if javascript is disabled. then due to this reason shouldn't use javascript to apply css never.     I'm trying to use this to clone a complicated Object. The object in question has a property that is an array of other Objects, and each of these have properties of different types, mostly primitives, but a couple further Objects and Arrays.     I want to send data to a printer on LPT1 and i trying exactly this but my CreateFile returns -1 (The system cannot find the file specified.Exception from HRESULT:0x80070002). How to open LPT1 port and send data to? I am trying this on XP and after that in win7 64 bit because from what i've read working with LPT in win7 64 bit is a bit of a problem, or should i say 64 bit of a problem:) PS:Since it's my first post this year: Happy New year to everybody.

  • Customising the .NET PrintPreviewDialog?

    Currently i'm using the PrintPreviewDialog to open a window to preview the printed pages before they are sent to a printer. The problem is though that it first appears very small, at the top left of the screen and the buttons are too small. Is there anyway i can set a starting size for this dialog or start position or even make the little buttons a little bigger? Or do i need to implement my own?

    I am having a problem with "same individuals property" in protege, when i run a reasoner (pellet 1.5 or fact++) Lets take ontology example thing has class sons A and B, A has sons C and D. B, C and D have individuals of the same class. Cant i say a individual C is "same individual" as individual B, and then add also individual D is "same individual" as individual B. Wich is true, they have diferent names, but they are same individual.. Why does it only work when i set individual B has "same individual" of type C or D? The protege error is "InconsistentOntologyException:Fact++.Kernel: inconsistent Ontology" and pellet says ontology is inconsistent. EDIT: Seems its a more deep rooted problem, this example works :(, gonna keep checking. EDIT2: After some more experimenting, seems its a conflict with DataType properties. They all share a DataType properties with same name. In the example domain of property would be A and range string. Any idea how to solve?

  • Flash: dynamically adding events code to instances possible?

    I want to make a movieclip invisible initially but i dont want to set it manually within the properties in flash because i cant then see it on the scene. I was hoping i could add some code like so: MC Frame one. this.onClipEvent(load) { this._alpha = 0; } but I cannot. How can i set the MC _alpha to 0 for all instances without adding it manually to each instance or setting it in the properties? edit: or creating a class for it just to set the alpha.

If I use something like: printDocument.PrintPage += OnPrintPage; printDocument.Print(); my printing task size in printer queue takes more than 1 GB!.     I have several products like HotelProduct, FlightProduct ... which derived from BaseProduct class. The table of these products will be generated in TPC manner in database. There is OrderLine class which has a BaseProduct. My problem is when i select an OrderLine with related product i don't know how cast BaseProduct to derived product. for example i have this query: var order = (from odr in _context.Orders join orderLine in _context.OrderLines on odr.Id equals orderLine.OrderId join hotel in _context.Products.OfType<HotelProduct>() on orderLine.ProductId equals hotel.Id where odr.UserId == userId && odr.Id == orderId orderby odr.OrderDate descending select odr).SingleOrDefault(); In OrderLine i have BaseProduct properties not properties of HotelProduct. Is there any way to cast BaseProduct to derived class in OrderLine or any other solutions ?

  • Line appears on paper each time HTML file is printed

    My application builds and prints HTML reports using AxWebBrowser.ExecWb method. Lately each time a report is printed a thin horizontal line is printed across it. It's not supposed to be there, it doesn't appear in any preview (Word, browser), but it's always there on the paper, always at the same absolute location and regardless of the printer type. Any ideas?

Lets say: var haystack = { foo: {value: "fooooo"}, bar: {value: "baaaaa"} }; Now, I want to access one of those properties, but I don't know which one. Luckily, this variable does: var needle = "foo"; In modern browsers I seem to be able to do the following and it works: haystack[needle].value; # returns "fooooo" But in IE6 it throws a wobbly, haystack[...] is null or not an object. Is there a way to achieve what I'm trying to achieve in IE6? If so, how so?

  • How to allow users to customize a DAL

    Hi, I'm working in ASP.NET in an application where often users want to add fields or change field names. I'd like to be able to have an xml schema in place that is parsed and a dynamic object model created from it that can be accessed throughout the application. My initial reaction is that this is not realistic. I think there is flexibility about the dynamic nature of it. I think the people I'm trying to build this for wouldn't mind recompiling. Even if the app recompiled, I don't know how to abstract away enough in my code access the data to allow for users changing property names, etc. How can you write LINQ when the properties might change? In short, there's two questions here: 1) is there a way to dynamically generate an object model of the database and 2) is there a way to abstract away enough so that code accessing the database doesn't break when properties change?

    I understand what the two are used for, except I don't know what each does--i.e. what one is for vs. what the other is for. (I usually set them to the same account anyway.) If you're not sure what accounts I'm talking about, in the IIS manager thingy: Right-click on the app pool in question, go to Properties, and click the Identity tab to see the App Pool Identity. Right-click a Web site, go to Properties - Directory Security, and click Edit under Anonymous Access and authentication control to view the Account for anonymous access.

  • Mimic property/list changes on an object on another object

    I need to mimic changes (property/list) changes on an object and then apply it to another object to keep the structure/property the same. In essence it's like cloning etc. the biz rules require certain properties to not be applied to the other object, so I can't just clone the object otherwise this would be easy. I've already walked the source object to get INotifyPropertyChanged and IListChanged events, so I have the "source" and the args (Property or List) changed event notifications. Given that I guess I could build a reflection "hierarchy path" starting from the top level of the source object to get to the Property or List changed "source" (which could be several levels deep). Ignoring for the moment that certain object properties should not propagate to the other object, what's a way to build this "path"? Is a brute force top level down to build the "path" (and discard on the way back up if we don't hit the original changed event "source") the only way to do it? Any clever ideas on how to mimic changes from one object to another object?

    I've a domain called Modulo with some properties and a Controller with a method that create a object from model and save it, when execute save the shell show this error: La propiedad [{0}] de la clase [{1}] no puede ser nulo But if i set the constraint nullable to true, the error show again. I think that i should not set this cosntraint. The model is linked to a mysql table with all properties except id allow null. I think I am not doing something wrong here. Any advice??     I'm pretty new to the jsp and struts way of doing things and so far I like what I see. My current question is with the use of the struts select tag. I have a page that displays a number of dropdown boxes using struts select currently the options are hard coded in the jsp. I would like to populate them based on a properties file. However I have no idea where to start. I assume I need to take the contents of a properties file into an Array (of some sort) and assign that to the select tag. My questions are: Where does the code t build the array go? How do I connect that array to the select tag?

  • Can I bind multiple forms to a single model using the default model binder?

    I have a complex page with several forms on it. The page is divided into sections, and each section has a continue button on it. The page is bound to a pageViewModel, each section addresses a different set of properties on the model. The continue button makes an ajax call to the controller, and the model binder binds it appropriately to the appropriate sections of the model. The section is refreshed appropriately. Finally, I would like to have a save button at the bottom of the page that takes all the forms, and binds all of the forms to the model. The model, at this point has all of the properties filled out, and can be processed accordingly. Can I accomplish this by some ASP MVC magic?

    When you have a domain object that needs to display as an interface control, like a drop down list, ifwdev suggested creating an extension method to add a .ToSelectList(). The originating object is a List of objects that have properties identical to the .Text and .Value properties of the drop down list. Basically, it's a List of SelectList objects, just not of the same class name. I imagine you could use reflection to turn the domain object into an interface object. Anyone have any suggestions for C# code that could do this? The SelectList is an MVC drop down list of SelectListItem. The idea of course is to do something like this in the view: <%= Html.DropDownList("City", (IEnumerable<SelectListItem>) ViewData["Cities"].ToSelectList() )
