• Create a WebPart which displays people who have rights on lists

  I want to develop a WebPart in C# to display peoples who have a certain right on the list of the SharePoint page. So I began by creating a "Visual Web Part" in VS2010, and in the View Designer I add a DataList because I think it is the most relevant. But now, I don't know how to link my data with this DataList. It ask me for an XML file but which one choose ? And where can I take it ? After all, how to make this WebPart generic with all my SharePoint pages which implements one list ?

• Paging To The End Of A Data View Web Part

  Hi all! Hopefully you can help me with this. I've displayed an Announcement web part on a page with 20 items. I opened up SharePoint Designer 2007 and set the paging to 6 items. I've added a little bit of (OOB) functionality so that I have buttons for START, PREVIOUS, and NEXT. These work well without any problems but I'm wondering how do I get END to work? I tried using the $LastRow & $RealLastRow values supplied by the web part but those just give me the number of how many items are in the current view, not the total items in the list. Little help!

• File not found error on User control on production

  I made 2 usercontrols for sharepoint 2007 site. Everything is working fine on test server. I deployed it on production but only 1 got deployed and placed properly. The second user control is added n deployed to web part galleries but gives File not found error when i add it on web part page. I deployed it using WSP. yet it gives this error. I checked logs it did not show anything. I have no idea what to do. please help. • Customizing Document library web part

  Hi, I am developing a website in Sharepoint 2007. I came across a bit tricky problem. I have a document library web part in a web part page. I am using the summary toolbar view. I dont want users to add new documents on first screeen where it shows folders. I want them to open the folders and add documents there. I cannot do a No toolbar view because it will remove the link from every subsequent page. Has anyone implemented something like this. Please help.

  Where does one put validation for external content types? Let's say one field on my ECT represents an email address that must be unique in our system. Where would I put the validation that checks to see that someone hasn't submitted an instance of the ECT with a duplicate email address? But in windows 7, outlook would not open the task edit form at all and no error message either. is there anything need to be turned off/on in windows 7 outlook in order to approve an item from their inbox?

I can edit the task list page, but I cannot edit the task list task page. I am missing the Edit Page button from site actions on that page. How can I edit the page of the actual task? Thanks.
