What is this about?     I'm using a simple jquery code that grabs html code form a tag and then puts this content into a form input <td class="name_cat" ><span class="name_cat">It&#039;s a &quot;test&quot; </span> (5)</td> jquery gets the content into span.name_catand returns it as It's a "test". So when I print this into an input it becomes <input value="It's a "test"" /> which as you can imagine will only show as It's a , the following double quote will close the value tag. What's the trick here to keep the original string while not showing utf8 code in the input?     I have couple of input fields with the class "link". All of them should start the jqueryUI dialog so this is why I bind the method to a class and not an single id. The difficulty is now that i can't use the (this) in line 12, because that gives me the identity of the dialog and not the input element. As I am an beginner I don't know how to pass a variable to this event with the element of the input field. I don't know where the problem is and I hope to know how to solve it.

    I'm trying to check if the username is available and display it for the user to see when they check there account settings, which I have done. BUT when the user tries to fill out another field I get the Your username is unavailable! which should not pop up because its the users username already. I want to know how can I fix this problem using PHP so that the users name is displayed every time the user views their account settings and it wont cause problems when a user submits additional info?     I'm trying to split a dhcp scope between a existing domain controller TTP01 and the new DC TTP02 to provide failover. I'm using the the wizard in DHCP [my scope] Advanced Split-scope. In the final step I get an error saying: Migration of Scope Options on Added DHCP Server: Failed Error: 0x00004E4C - The class name being used is unknown or incorrect.   • Disable local delivery in Sendmail

    I am using Sendmail on a Centos server to send email for PHP scripts, but the problem is that mail is delivered to a local mailbox on the machine rather than what is specified in the MX records for the domain - which actually point to another machine I use for email. I would like sendmail to not try and locally deliver mail for the domain the machine is setup for, is there a simple way to disable local delivery? The domain is not in the local-host-names file. I don't want to relay to another server, i just want it to send mail regardless of domain.     I first launch cheese and my webcam turns on. When this is supported by the driver, users can for example start a "panel" application to change controls like brightness or audio volume, while another application captures video and audio. My webcam is seen in lspci as 058f:a014 Alcor Micro Corp. Asus Integrated Webcam, but I don’t even know what the underlying driver is, so I can’t check whether my problem is driver-related or not.   • Unable to Turn On Media Streaming in Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7

    I have 2 PC installed with Windows 7 and Media Player 12. I would like to use Play To feature on both PC connected via LAN. Both PC (A and B) run media player in standard user account. I able to turn on media streaming option in PC A (with privilege access prompt) without any problem. However, PC B also prompt privilege access but no response after enter administrator password. Both PC follow same configuration steps. I may use "play to" PC A (in standard user account) from other PC without any problem. But I can't "play to" PC B in standard user account. I can only run media player in administrator account for "play to" to function. I have tried uninstall and reinstall media player via "Programs and Features" in control panel on PC B. However, it doesn't work too. Does anyone has similar experience as me failing to turn on media streaming that running Windows media player in standard user account?

When logged in as a standard user, and BOINC is set to run as a screensaver, it fails to connect and run properly. Only when the program is run as an administrator, does it actually run in the standard user's account. What is the correct way to install and run BOINC for standard users (non-admin) on Windows? -- Not specific to Vista necessarily.

  • Sendmail delivering locally instead of to MTA in MX record

    Ok, so I've got a box named websrv1.mydomain.com. It's a web server running ubuntu, apache2, sendmail, etc. My email is outsourced to a third party. So in my DNS I've got MX set to mx.thirdparty.net. I've no reason to accept incoming mail on my web server, every email should be sent to the third party. This works correctly accept with sending mail from the webserver (aka via cron or console). So from my web server, if I send an email to [email protected], it just disappears. No errors, nothing in dead.letter, nothing. I can send to any other address with no issues. If I send to [email protected] it's delivered locally which is fine. 1) Doing an nslookup shows the mx record is correct. 2) Running /mx mydomain.com from sendmail -bt returns the correct result. 3) Running sendmail -bv [email protected] returns: sudo sendmail -bv [email protected] [email protected]... deliverable: mailer esmtp, host mydomain.com., user [email protected] 4) Running 3,0 [email protected], returns: 3,0 [email protected] canonify input: me @ mydomain . com Canonify2 input: me Canonify2 returns: me canonify returns: me parse input: me Parse0 input: me Parse0 returns: me Parse1 input: me MailerToTriple input: me MailerToTriple returns: me Parse1 returns: $# esmtp $@ mydomain . com . $: me parse returns: $# esmtp $@ mydomain . com . $: me So I'm at a loss. In my static directory, I have some javascript files (.js) with 2 kind of filename: xxxx.js which is the standard file name AT_xxxx.js (with prefixed filename) which has been duplicated from previous standard file name but also contains my customizations I would like to parse requests for each standard requested javascript file (xxxx.js) to check if a customized file exists (AT_xxxx.js) including all sub-directories. Then, in this case, use the custom file instead of the standard file (perhaps by internal redirect). I tried to figure this out for hours but something is still wrong. Note: Also, I don't know how to find custom files in sub-directories.     I'm having a problem with my home network. So my setup is like this: In my Router (using Ubuntu desktop v11.04), I installed squid proxy as my transparent proxy. So I would like to use dyndns to my home network so I could be access my server from the internet, and also I installed CCTV camera and I would like to enable watching it from internet. The problem is I cannot access it from outside the net. I already set DMZ in my modem to my router ip. My first guess is because i'm using iptables to redirect all inside network to use squid. And not allow from outside traffic to my inside network.   • How to backup/restore OSX Parental Controls before/after complete reimage?

    We typically "nuke and pave" users Mac OSX laptops if they have software issue. Prior to doing so, we backup the primary (non-admin) user's home folder. Our standard image has four accounts: Admin (uber admin user); Parent (admin account for the parents of students); Loaner (so our standard image will also work for our loaner laptop pool); Student (this is the primary, non-admin user of the laptop) Our standard image has only minimal Parental controls on the Loaner and Student accounts. Some parents choose to tighten the parental controls. We never know when parents have made changes to parental controls, or what those changes are. Once we have reimaged the machine with our standard image (minimal parental controls) we would like to be able to restore any custom parental controls parents may have placed on their student's account. Any help in this would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Dos/ Flood Lag even though Port not Saturated

    My GameServers had been under some UDP Floods due to which they generated outputs to the attacker which gave the GameServers some huge lags. Thanks to friends at ServerFault that upon different kind of testing, I was able to successfully block the attack. My question is actually something else but it is important to know how the GameServers reacted to the attack and if the machine kept stable or not: 300kb/s Input would cause GameServer to generate 2mb/s Output. So as the Input Rate kept increasing, output rate would reach so high that it would no longer be possible for the GameServer to control it and hence it would give a huge Lag until the attack is stopped. Usually the game server starts to lag when it sends out something greater than 5mb/s and under that is controllable. Theoretically, I was able to receive a 60mb/s output from my GameServer on inputting 10mb/s. Its just the way the GameServer works if not protected. Now on some of my machines, only the GameServer under attack lagged and although the server was generating 60mb/s output, rest of the gameservers on other ports would run fine without lags on the same machine. But there was another machine which also runs on a 100 MBPS Network port, even 1 mbps input ( and ZERO output because attack is blocked ) even on an unused port would give a constant yellow line ( on the Lag-o-Meter ) to all the clients on all GameServers indicating lag because that line is actually blue under normal conditions. It would remain the same even on 50mbps or 900mbps input. I tried contacting the host about it because I believe its the way their Network is bridged, but they can't help me about it. Anyone else knowing about such issues because if 900mbps input does not Saturate the port, how can 1mbps input lag the servers although port is not saturated and enough bandwidth is available?
