  I created a simple tab control that has 2 tabs (each tab is a different dialog). The thing is that i don't have any idea how to switch between tabs (when the user presses Titlu Tab1 to show the dialog i made for the first tab, and when it presses Titlu Tab2 to show my other dialog). I added a handler for changing items, but i don't know how should i acces some kind of index or child for tabs.   Hello, My first post here. I want to make a horizontal menu with submenu's sliding down on mouseover. I know I could use jQuery but this is to practice my javascript skills. If i go now over menu B the interval applied to A is now applied to B. There are now 2 interval functions applied to B. The one originally for A and a new one triggered by the mouseover on B. • What precautions should you take when a senior employee leaves?

  EDIT : I agree one should check the reasons, why a senior level employee is leaving. But I am interested in knowing the official/management/technical/legal steps one should take after its decided that he is leaving, so that the life after him is smooth. What are the steps management should take when a senior programmer/team lead leaves your company. Some of them which I have thought about are : 1) If He used to manage hosting and domains stuff, change passwords of domain control panels and hosting panels. 2) If your published web sites have maintenance account and he is aware of credentials of that account then change this details also. 3) Suspend mail account for some time and forward all eMails of that account to some ex-employee account. After some time close that account. What are the other things one should check. I am expecting the answer to be a general check list one should follow. It should include both technical scenarios and management scenarios. Notable Suggestions so far : Effectively transfer the responsibilities of that employee to another one without causing any potential delay in your work. Protect your source code. If possible Make them to sign something to say that they don't have copies of source code.. You can also consider NDA here. Use the Notice Period to train his replacement. Now any new code to the project will be done by replacement with the help of Guy who is leaving. Ask him to create a document of things he thinks you should know. Make sure he checks everything in now and then any checkout will only be done by the replacement. Emails, copy off his email account to a pst.file (this assumes Outlook), Make this file available to his replacement. the employee should probably be given a chance to scrub the email. if you are going to keep his account open for whatever reason, check that no rules are created that forward incoming emails to an alternate address. Copy the hard drive of his computer to a network location and have someone senior go through and see if there are any files (drafts of performance reviews or other sensitive issues ) on it that someone else might need. Clearance from Accounts,Finance,Security,Library etc departments.Obtain all company property, laptops, keys, etc. If there is no reason not to, you should reward a departing person for their many years of service. Write them letters of recommendation (even if they already have a new job lined up).Say goodbye, and keep the door open. Make sure any outside clients know that the departing employee is not their main contact anymore. Never neglect the exit interview/debriefing. Confirm the last day of employment so that there is no misunderstanding Inform H/R if the employee is on H1B status, there is paperwork required to notify the government when an H1B employee leaves. Depending on how senior / what position, you might spend some time convincing him not to take the rest of the engineering staff with him. Make sure he spends his last days on a good note, because if he is not leaving on a good note, he can easily pollute the mind of his colleagues.   Hello all, I created a new content type for a wiki page library. I added this content type to library by code (the interface did not allow this). Next, I added an event receiver to this content type (on ItemAdded and ItemAdding). My problem is that no event is trrigered. If I add this events directly to the wiki page library all works fine. Is there a limitation/bug/trick ? If i go now over menu B the interval applied to A is now applied to B. There are now 2 interval functions applied to B. The one originally for A and a new one triggered by the mouseover on B. • Translate ImageButton from C# to XAML

  I worked out the C# code to create an ImageButton (below) that has three images (one base-image and two overlays) and three text boxes as the face of the button. I am inheriting from the Button class, which unfortunately includes several components that I didn't realize would surface until after coding and need to remove, namely the bright-blue surrounding border on IsMouseOver, and any visible borders between the buttons, as the buttons will end up in a wrapPanel and the borders need to be seamless. Now that the format has been worked out in C#, I expect that I need to translate to XAML so that I can create a ControlTemplate to get the functionality necessary, however I am not certain as to the process of translating from C# to XAML.   I have a custom user control called GoalProgressControl. Another user control contains GoalProgressControl and sets its GoalName attribute via databinding in XAML. However, the GoalName property is never set. When I check it in debug mode GoalName remains "null" for the control's lifetime. How do I set the GoalName property? Is there something I am doing incorrectly? I am using .NET Framework 4 and Silverlight 4. I am relatively new to XAML and Silverlight so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attempted to change GoalProgressControl.GoalName into a POCO property but this causes a Silverlight error, and my reading leads me to believe that databound properties should be of type DependencyProperty. I've also simplified my code to just focus on the GoalName property (the code is below) with no success. In other words, it wasn't doing a case-insensitive comparison. I changed the test to use a case-insensitive comparison, as follows: var newTagNames = tagNames.Where(n => !allTags.Any(t => t.Name.Equals(n, StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase))); ... and suddenly I get an exception thrown when the foreach runs (and calls MoveNext on) newTagNames. The exception says: Sequence has no elements I'm confused by this. Why would foreach insist on the sequence being non-empty? I'd expect to see that error if I was calling First(), but not when using foreach? EDIT: more info. This is getting weirder by the minute. Because my code is in an async method, and I'm superstitious, I decided that there was too much "distance" between the point at which the exception is raised, and the point at which it's caught and reported. So, I put a try/catch around the offending code, in the hope of verifying that the exception being thrown really was what I thought it was. So now I can step through in the debugger to the foreach line, I can verify that the sequence is empty, and I can step right up to the bit where the debugger highlights the word "in". One more step, and I'm in my exception handler. But, not the exception handler I just added, no! It lands in my outermost exception handler, without visiting my recently-added one! It doesn't match catch (Exception ex) and nor does it match a plain catch. (I did also put in a finally, and verified that it does visit that on the way out). I've always taken it on faith that an Exception handler such as those would catch any exception. I'm scared now. I need an adult. EDIT 2: OK, so um, false alarm... The exception was not being caught by my local try/catch simply because it was not being raised by the code I thought. As I said above, I watched the execution in the debugger jump from the "in" of the foreach straight to the outer exception handler, hence my (wrong) assumption that that was where the error lay. However, with the empty enumeration, that was simply the last statement executed within the function, and for some reason the debugger did not show me the step out of the function or the execution of the next statement at the point of call - which was in fact the one causing the error. Apologies to all those who responded, and if you would like to create an answer saying that I am an idoit, I will gladly accept it. That is, if I ever show my face on SO again...

• Increase RGB components every Hour (r), Minute (g), Second (b) for digital clock

  So I am taking my first javascript class (total noob) and one of the assignments is to modify a digital clock by assigning the color red to hours, green minutes, blue to seconds, then increase the respective color component when it changes. I have successfully assigned a decimal color value (ex. "#850000" to each element (hours, minutes, seconds), but my brain is fried trying to figure out how to increase the brightness when hours, minutes, seconds change, i.e. red goes up to "#870000" changing from 1:00:00 pm to 2:00:00 pm. I've searched everywhere with no help on how to successfully do this. Here is what I have so far and any help on this would be greatly appreciated. • Issue with 'selected' value within form

  I currently have a form built in which after validation, if errors exist, the data stays on screen for the consumer to correct. An example of how this works for say the 'Year of Birth' is: <select name="DOB3"> <option value="">Year</option> <?php for ($i=date('Y'); $i>=1900; $i--) { echo "<option value='$i'"; if ($fields["DOB3"] == $i) echo " selected"; echo ">$i</option>"; } ?> </select> If an error is found, the year of birth value returns the year previously entered. I am able to have this work on all field with the exception of my 'State' field.
