  • How to recover MySQL database from .mysql file?

    We had some problems with our MySQL server and somehow all I've got is a database.mysql file for the database I want to restore. I've done a bit of googleing but I didn't find anything about how should I handle this type of file. It's worth mentioning that the server was running Plesk and the database wasn't using InnoDB. Edit: I've forgot to mention that I don't know what application created the .mysql file and that it's in binary format. Thanks,

  • tmux won't run as non root user?

    If I run tmux as root, it runs normally and fully functional. I created a couple users, and it will not run as any of the users. create session failed: : No such file or directory I checked the outside $TERM is xterm and inside $TERM is screen as FAQs suggest that is most common cause of problems. I've used tmux regularly on many different systems, but I on this VPS I can't figure out what's up... A little help, please? EDIT: strace output

  • Windows System shows wrong amount of RAM?

    I just got an ASUS 1005HA and immediately upgraded it to 2GB of RAM. However, when I open up the Windows System Dialog, it says their is only .99GB of RAM. CPU-Z sees the whole 2GB though. Anybody know what's going on here? EDIT: The BIOS also reports the correct amount of memory in the system.

    I want to setup some brand new servers with RHEL 6.4. Servers do not have DVD, so, I have to use USB for the installation. I already have a custom ISO with a kickstart file that I use on servers with DVD flawlessly. I used iso2usb to move the ISO t? my USB. When I boot from the USB, the ks file is found, anaconda starts, but then stops with the following error: "The installation source given by device ['sda1'] could not be found. Please check your parameters and try again" Notes: The USB IS the sda. My custom ISO file is renamed to linux.iso from iso2usb and it is present in the root directory of the USB. Kickstart file has the following entry: harddrive --partition=sda1 --dir=/ Please help me to automate the installation with kickstart.     Is there any way to (manually or automatically) share downloaded software updates between macs? Edit: The thinking is that I have one mac update itself using Software Update, and then somehow share the downloaded updates with other macs. For example, I have a mac pro and a mac mini on my local network. I'd like to download the Mac OS X 10.6.5 update only once, instead of having to download it separately for each mac.

  • I've set an editor as default, how do I call it to open files in a shell?

    EDIT I thought of a better way to phrase the question. How can I find the alias that Ubuntu is using for a different text editor? Rather than using nano by typing nano file.txt, i'd like to be able to type sublime file.txt to open sublime editor. I don't know where to look to find these aliases. sudo update-alternatives --config editor does not show it as a choice, I only see the 'default' editors, like Nano and vim.tiny.

    I'm trying to find a list of all sql servers on the network using the osql -L command in the command prompt. This command only works when SQLServer is installed on the computer that I'm working on. Is there any way to run this command when SQLServer is not installed on that particular computer, but is installed somewhere on the network? Thank you! EDIT: I'm writing a program in java, so the easy enumerations that you can do in the .NET framework won't work for me.

    This post from how-to-geek to disable Aero in Win7 and Vista no longer works in Windows 8. Is there another way to disable taskbar transparency in Windows 8 desktop? Edit: On Win8 Aero was removed but the taskbar is transparent (the desktop background picture is slightly visible 'behind' the taskbar). When I'm using the taskbar to switch programs I don't like seeing artifacts 'bleeding-through', I find it distracting.

    Mail + Social networking? One identity for all sites? Integration between all social networks and IM services? Which web services should be integrated in the future, and why? Edit: Clarification: By "integrating", I mean that two or more services should be seamlessly connected, and that connection would benefit the user. Foe example, I would really like to have an IM application that would support many accounts on many IM providers (And IMHO, Pidgin's not ready yet).

(due to missing arch) then a blue dialog box appears with OK (Which is not clickable and pressing enter is not workin.)   • Filtering Security Logs by User and Logon Type

    I have been asked to find out when a user has logged on to the system in the last week. Now the audit logs in Windows should contain all the info I need. I think if I search for Event ID 4624 (Logon Success) with a specific AD user and Logon Type 2 (Interactive Logon) that it should give me the information I need, but for the life of my I cannot figure out how to actually filter the Event Log to get this information. Is it possible inside of the Event Viewer or do you need to use an external tool to parse it to this level? I found http://nerdsknowbest.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/filter-security-event-logs-by-user-in.html which seemed to be part of what I needed. I modified it slightly to only give me the last 7 days worth. Below is the XML I tried. <QueryList> <Query Id="0" Path="Security"> <Select Path="Security">*[System[(EventID=4624) and TimeCreated[timediff(@SystemTime) &lt;= 604800000]]]</Select> <Select Path="Security">*[EventData[Data[@Name='Logon Type']='2']]</Select> <Select Path="Security">*[EventData[Data[@Name='subjectUsername']='Domain\Username']]</Select> </Query> </QueryList> It only gave me the last 7 days, but the rest of it did not work. I can get it to produce the results correctly until I add in the LogonType line. After that, it returns no results. Any idea why this might be? EDIT 2 I updated the LogonType line to the following: EventData[Data[@Name='LogonType'] and (Data='2' or Data='7')] This should capture Workstation Logons as well as Workstation Unlocks, but I still get nothing. I then modify it to search for other Logon Types like 3, or 8 which it finds plenty of. This leads me to believe that the query works correctly, but for some reason there are no entries in the Event Logs with Logon Type equalling 2 and this makes no sense to me. Is it possible to turn this off?

    We have set up Tomcat 6 with [TOMCAT_HOME]/lib - here is the standard tomcat release [TOMCAT_BASE]/lib - here we like to add non standard additional jar file However somehow I don't manage to get [TOMCAT_BASE]/lib jar files to be picked up by Tomcat. It appears that all my jar files out side tomcat are ignored. Before starting Tomcat I set the CLASSPATH=[TOMCAT_BASE]\lib -------- Edit JAVA_ENDORSED_DIRS can be used for adding an additional folder with jar files to be loaded by Tomcat

This is what I am doing but it's not working for some reason: Open IIS 7 Create a new virtual directory in Default Web Site and point it to a folder on d:\ drive Browse to folder on d:\ drive and create an .htm file with some test text in it Open a browser and navigate to http://localhost/TestSite/index.htm But I get a 404 - what gives?   • Alternative to arrow keys in Google Chrome location bar

    I like Google Chrome because it is fast but I don't like using the arrow keys in the location bar to complete URLs. Is there any extension, or setting I'm missing, that allows me to use the Tab key (or other customizable key) for completion like in Firefox? I am an Emacs user and am aware of Conkeror. I just wanted to give Google Chrome a fair chance. Edit: I'm using version 4.0.266.0 on Linux.

  • Intel Matrix Storage Manager not showing on Asus P5W DH Deluxe?

    I have set, under "Main" - "IDE Configuration" - "Configure SATA as" to "Raid" and "Onboard Serial-ATA BootRom" to "Enabled", but upon POST I still do not see the Intel Matrix Storage Manager screen where I can press Ctrl+I to set up my raid? I have the latest BIOS version EDIT: Although I had set the rom to "enabled", I then went and reset the bios settings to default. I then set the bootrom setting to "disabled", restarted and then "enabled" again and it seemed to work.
