  • Is there a fingerprint reader api/sdk?

    I need to read the user's fingerprint from my application. What I really want is a simple SDK that works with a lot of inexpensive fingerprint readers but I can deal with something that works only with one specific model if that model is cheap and available worldwide. And it has to be royalty-free, I can pay for a development license but if I have to pay for each installation I just can't use it. What I'm doing has no relation to login or encryption, so the software included with the reader will probably be useless to me.

    I am writing a native function that will return multiple Python objects PyObject *V = PyList_New(0); PyObject *E = PyList_New(0); PyObject *F = PyList_New(0); return Py_BuildValue("ooo", V, E, F); This compiles fine, however, when I call it from a Python program, I get an error: SystemError: bad format char passed to Py_BuildValue How can this be done correctly? EDIT: The following works PyObject *rslt = PyTuple_New(3); PyTuple_SetItem(rslt, 0, V); PyTuple_SetItem(rslt, 1, E); PyTuple_SetItem(rslt, 2, F); return rslt; However, isn't there a shorter way to do this?

    I've looked at sites and MSDN documentation but I still don't understand the last parameter of PostMessage(). On forums in which people ask how to use PostMessage, people reply with one of two implementations: PostMessage(WindowHandle, WM_KEYDOWN, KeyCode, MapVirtualKey(KeyCode, 0) << 16); PostMessage(WindowHandle, WM_KEYDOWN, KeyCode, 0); What's the difference? Why can the last parameter be left as 0 in some instances, but has to be 'shifted' and all that in other instances? Just a quick question. Don't need essay replies (although they would be much appreciated). Any insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    I am experimenting with making Blackberry widgets but having a little trouble. My first trial involves displaying a button which, when clicked, calls a JavaScript function that should alert the phones latitude and longitude. The function looks: function whereAmI() { var latitude = blackberry.location.latitude; var longitude = blackberry.location.longitude; alert("Lat: "+latitude+", Long: "+longitude); } But it only ever alerts "Lat: 0, Long: 0". I've checked and my GPS seems to be working ok. I'm running OS 5.* on a Curve 8900. Any help would be appreciated :)

    All the Python-provided types have a check method (i.e., PyList_Check) that allows you to check if an arbitrary PyObject* is actually a specific type. How can I implement this for my own types? I haven't found anything good online for this, though it seems like a pretty normal thing to want to do. Also, maybe I'm just terrible at looking through large source trees, but I cannot for the life of me find the implementation of PyList_Check or any of it's companions in the Python (2.5) source.

Communication between Flash and JavaScript is without problems, it is the call back I can't find to work and more frustratingly, should be simple, as no values are not required. So far, this has been hours of scouring the net without a workable end in sight...ahrr. What is a function for this to work?   • Unknown address suggestion

    Usually when you try to add a marker to an unknown/ambiguous address you just get an error from the api. It would be much nicer if i could display a list of suggestions related to the address that was not found. The Google maps site has this feature but i do not know how to do with the api. Any help would be appreciated.

  • problem with facebook api - Keeps redirecting

    I created an application with a name and connect URL on facebook. I put below code in test.php here (test.php): include_once 'facebook.php'; $fb = new Facebook('api_key', 'secret'); $user = $fb->require_login(); echo $fb->api_client->user; echo $fb->api_client->session_key; when I go to that page, it takes me to facebook login, after I login it redirects me to same test.php with an auth_token. But it doesn't stop there. For some reason, the script is taking me to facebook again and since I already logged in facebook redirecting me to test.php with another auth_token just like below /test.php?auth_token=76a6eb21b872cdfe787ea85a240905dd&auth_token=597d7532bf53c8ce37cc003bcf7d2905 It never stops there, test.php taking me to facebook again and again :( Please tell me what wrong??     Hi, I have a Google App engine application that I want to work differently depending upon if it is running in my local dev environment (i.e. with dev_appserver.py) as against running in actual GAE cloud. Currently I use a flag variable that I manually toggle to achieve that. But I am sure one day I will forget to change it and will lead to problem. So I would like to know if there is an API or some other way to figure out where the GAE app is actually running? Thanks.

  • Facebook status.get API throws 500 HTTP status code

    I have an APP that calls Facebook status.get method via the REST server - restserver.php using session key method. This app works fine for most of the users, but for one user I consistently receive HTTP 500 status code. Since this doesn't have any specific Facebook error message, it is almost impossible for me to debug this. Anyone faced a similar problem? What could be wrong with this user account? I checked the privacy options that I could think of and they look fine. Also, for the same user, I can use friends.get method without any problem. EDIT: I tried in Facebook forums as well, but it was of no use. Any pointers in the direction towards debugging/troubleshooting this problem are also appreciated.

    Hi all, I have a database of cities (in both the US and the rest of the world). The database entries are simple text strings. Currently the database contains even small cities (population 10,000). I wish to use a larger scale database instead, by assigning the cities into larger geographical\metropolitan areas. An example can be the Metropolitan areas in Google's AdWords API: http://code.google.com/intl/iw-IL/apis/adwords/docs/developer/adwords_api_us_metros.html but I have no problem using other databases instead. I'd be grateful for any advice on how this can be performed using existing databases\APIs!
