I have declared a DataTemplate in Window.Resources; I don't intend to use it inside an ItemsControl, but rather just use it as a user control. How do I put it on a form?
In some sources I see such declarations
<item
android:id="@+id/menu_display_groups"
android:icon="@*android:drawable/ic_menu_allfriends"
android:title="@string/menu_displayGroup" />
Notice the *
@*android:
It seems to give access to internal resources. But would like to know for sure.
Also curious, if it is safe to build application with such declarations using Android 2.2 SDK, and run it on 1.5.
I'm investigating the possibility of utilizing my web host as a cruise control.net build server. If I have access to MsBuild or can deploy msBuild and run it, it would be great. I can not however find any resources that would tell me if cruise control supports being run as a web service or web app.
Is this type of deployment possible? If not could the UI (it's web-based I believe) control section sit on the web server and send requests to the actual build server?
I am interested in studying some test logs from different projects, in order to build and test an application for school. I need to analyze the parts of the code which are tested, the bugs which appeared in those parts and eventually how they were resolved.
But for this I need some repositories from different (open source) projects. Can someone please help me with ideas or links or any kind of test logs which might be useful? I really need some resources, so any help is appreciated.
I recently came across the Kogut language, and was interested by it. However, the only website to gain information from is the sourceforge page that hosts the project. I had no idea how to even attempt to look at the language in more depth.
So what I'm asking is, has anyone here learnt a language that doesn't have the thousands of resources that Ruby, Python etc. have? What would be the best method to do so?
Hello,
I am trying to find a good resource on web and load testing. I'm using Visual Studio 2010 ultimate and, while i'm sure it is too early for much material to be released, i'm hoping there are some good resources for Visual Studio 2008 that are still relevant. While MSDN has some good information I'm looking for something more cohesive that i can view on my way to/from work - hence a book or a video
Thanks in advance,
JP
I want to be able to edit and delete resources myself, but not allow users of the application to do so.
Is there an easy way of doing this in Rails?
An incomplete solution would be just to remove the "delete" and "edit" buttons from the index view, but that doesn't disable their ability to do so via direct HTTP requests.
Running Rails 2.2.2 and ruby 1.8.7

hi
does anyone know any sort of app that lets users visit a page on their mobile phone, enter information and have it update the website
i believe the term is "mobile-blogging" but there isn't all that much on google
or, is there any good resources for coding pages specifically for a mobile phone? I could probably design a script to insert blog posts on a site but not sure how it would work with a mobile.
thanks for any pointers
I am working in Postgres and I need to send in a full result set with many rows and column into a stored procedure or a function. Is this possible? If so, where can I see resources for syntax?
Hi Friends,

So I have a rather large openGL program going, and checking for normal memory leaks (those by new and delete) is rather trivial -- just run it on valgrind.
But what is the best way to check for potential opengl leaks? Is there an opengl utility that'll tell you how many resources (e.g framebuffers) are being used at the time, or such? Or is the only way to attach a counter to every glGenBlah and glDeleteBlah pairs?
I am building a GAE site that uses AJAX/JSON for almost all its tasks including building the UI elements, all interactions and client-server requests. What is a good way to test it for highloads so that I could have some statistics about how much resources 1000 average users per some period of time would take. I think I can create some Python functions for this purpose. What can you advise? Thanks.
hi friends..
I have a plan of creating Dynamic UI in iphone using webservices ..that is the UI will be build according to the xml content from a webservice.
I need to know some of your suggestions regarding this... where will i get resources for building such an app... are there any tutorials available.....?
I have an app and it stores data to a .plist file in the resources group in Xcode (if that matters). And whenever I run it on the simulator it works perfectly with the file. On the iPhone, however, it doesn't seem to be interacting with the file.
Thanks in advance!
I want to make 10 asynchronous http requests at once and only process the results when all have completed and in a single callback function. I also do not want to block any threads using WaitAll (it is my understanding that WaitAll blocks until all are complete). I think I want to make a custom IAsyncResult which will handle multiple calls. Am I on the right track? Are there any good resources or examples out there that describe handling this?
HI, Any good resources to wrap my head around Aspect Oriented Programming?
PS:- I need to understand AO programming not the libraries or frameworks available for .NET or C# :)
Hi,
I'm getting ready to release my first application the marketplace. It's being written for devices running Android 1.5 and above, however there aren't any specific folders for the three different screen densities (I think those came around in 1.6). Should I make these folders myself? Where should I put image resources for the different densities and what should I put in my Manifest??
Can a PHP application have too many functions? Does the execution of a large number of PHP functions hog memory and resources? My WordPress theme in-development has a lot of functions (probably more than 100 by the time I'm done) and I'm concerned that I might have too many.
Hi,
I want to make a program that takes recorded speech and transforms it so it sounds like it's coming from a Texas TI-99. Do you have any good ideas and resources for how to go about that?
I'm currently working on a Java Application and it's my first Java App. So I created a file Splash.png and placed it into the source folder resourcesof the application.
I already managed it to show the Splash image on startup, with the JVM param -splash:resources/Splash.png, but my question is;
How can I show this splash screen again, but programmatically?
I need this functionality for the About menu item.
Hello Experts,
Our organization uses IBM FileNet as document management system. FileNet P8 comes with a web services API which can be used in .net
Has anyone of you guys tried this? If yes could you please direct me to any resources to kick start?
Thanks a ton in advance.
After reading about the new Arabic URLs, and with more languages to come, how should URL validation be done for internationalized applications? Does the validation change at all and will existing solutions break? Is regex still a good approach? If so, what would that regex look like? If not, what's a good strategy? What are some good resources to read more on the topic?
Hi,
Loose coupling is wonderful of course, but I have often wondered what overhead wiring up dynamically using an IoC container (for example Castle Windsor) has over a tightly coupled system?
I know that a detailed answer would depend on what the IoC was being used for, but I'm really just trying to get a feel for the magnitude of effort involved in the IoC work.
Does anyone have any stats or other resources regarding this?
Thanks
