  • Page looks good in most browsers except in IE7...why

    Hi, The following page looks good in Firefox, Safari, Chrome, IE6 and IE8... but it looks bad in IE7. I don't have IE7 but I need to fix this issue because someone seen it in IE7 and it looks bad. Does anyone has any idea why this page renders different in IE7?...and what is the solution to make it display correctly? http://www.aetna.com/2009annualreport/mainBoard.html Problem: When you click on the "Board of Directors" or "Management Team" link and the listing table panel opens up, the far right third of the panel is getting cut off.   • Increasing Max Upload File Size on IIS7/Win7 Pro

    I'm setting up a server for a client (something I don't typically do), and I'm running into issues with uploading larger files (11MB). The server is running Windows 7 Professional with IIS added. In web.config I've tried setting <system.web> <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="65536" /> <!-- 64MB --> </system.web> ... and that doesn't work. I've set <system.webSecurity> <security> <requestFiltering> <requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="68157440" /> </requestFiltering> </security> </system.webSecurity> ... and that doesn't work either. What am I missing here? As I've said, I don't typically set up servers, so I may be missing something obvious... no suggestion will be scoffed at! Thanks in advance.

    I start with describing the problem itself. Rather than a problem I'm looking for a better solution. I have a asp.net page which has a bunch of images and a link underneath it, Each image is infact the latest rendering of the link underneath it. I scheduled a bat script which runs every hour to fetch the images through IECapt a web page rendering capture utility. One thing am annoyed about this utility is it takes a lot of time for the 20 images I have and for few because of the flash content it misses to take the actual screenshot of the website. Now I like to know can this rendering be done by traditional programming am not interested in using any utilities. I'm interested in trying this. The solution need not be necessarily a C# based am ready to try in any other language. Because it gives me a chance to learn. Thank you.

    Hi All, In my work place, we have several classic ASP and ASP.NET application. All these application though doing different works are integrated through a single sign on mode, which is handled by one main application. The main application is in classic ASP and verifies the userid and password initially and then stores the UserID in a session variable, which is then used by all other ASP and ASP.NET page as a valid Authenticated user. (For DOT NET pages we use session bridging) Is this how authentication is done is classic ASP? (I dont know classic ASP much) From the time I was introduced to this setup, I started to worry whether this setup is flawless? Is there any better way to handle the same ? Will it be possible to authenticate for both classic asp and DOT NET in the same login page? Thanks in advance for you answer Raja

  • Animating a CALayer's mask size change

    I have a UIView subclass which uses a CAShapeLayer mask on its CALayer. The mask uses a distinct shape, with three rounded corners and a cut out rectangle in the remaining corner. When I resize my UIView using a standard animation block, the UIView itself and its CALayer resize just fine. The mask, however, is applied instantly, which leads to some drawing issues. I've tried animating the mask's resizing using a CABasicAnimation but didn't have any luck getting the resizing animated. Can I somehow achieve an animated resizing effect on the mask? Do I need to get rid of the mask, or will I have to change something about the way I currently draw the mask (using - (void)drawInContext:(CGContextRef)ctx). Cheers, Alex

  • Split NSData objects into other NSData objects with a given size

    I'm having an NSData object of approximately 1000kb big. Now I want to transfer this via bluetooth. This would be better if I have let's say 10 objects of 100kb. It comes to mind that I should use the -subdataWithRange: method of NSData. I haven't really worked with NSRange. Well I know how it works, but then to read from a given location with the length: 'to end of file'... I've no idea how to do that. Some code on how to split this into multiple 100kb NSData objects would really help me out here. (it probably involves the length method to see how many objects should be made..?) Is there a platform-agnostic way to have in compile-time the correct value for max_int after the call to reverse_int_setup(); Otherwise, is there an algorithm you consider better/leaner than the one I have for reverse_int()?   • Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock problem in chrome, not registering

    Hello! I am using Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock to register a variable that tells the site to show something for the user (Don't need to get in to what is show). I am going to try to use RegisterStartupScript instead and see if i get any other result, i will get back on that. In my site i use jquery to look for that variable and do something if it exists. This works very well in IE 6,7,8 & FF but not in Chrome. In Chrome it works sometimes but most of the time it does not work, the variable does not get inserted on the page. The variable is beeing inserted in the Page_PreRender. Someone that has got a workaround for this or have experienced the same problem? Thanks

  • C# program that generates html pages - limit image dimensions on page

    I have a C# program that generates a large number of html pages, based on various bits of data and images that I have stored on the file system. The html itself works just fine, but the images can vary greatly in their dimensions. I need a way to ensure that a given image won't exceed a certain size on the page. The simplest way to accomplish this would be through the html itself... if there was some kind of "maxwidth" or "maxheight" property I could set in the html, or maybe a way to force the image to fit inside a table cell (if I used something like this, I'd have to be sure that the non-offending dimension would automatically scale with the one that's being reduced). The problem is, I don't know much about this "fine tuning" kind of stuff in html, and it seems to be a tough thing to Google around for (most of the solutions involve some sort of html specialization; I'm just using plain html). Alternatively, I could determine the width and height of each image at runtime by examining the image in C#, and then setting width/height values in the html if the image's dimensions exceed a certain value. The problem here is that is seems incredibly inefficient to load an entire image into memory, just to get its dimensions. I would need a way to "peek" at an image and just get its size (it could be bmp, jpg, gif or png). Any recommendations for either approach would be greatly appreciated.

  • Project links in RAD Studio Welcome page do not work

    Hi, As you know, welcome page in RAD Studio shows a list of recent projects, and you can open each project by clicking on its name. My problem is that if the project is located somewhere My Documents folder, then the link in welcome page does not work! It works fine for projects which are located outside My Documents, but no links to anything inside My Documents work. It's been a while I am having this problem both in RAD Studio 2009 and RAD Studio 2010 on Windows Vista and Windows 7 (64-bit). I tried running the IDE as administrator to see if it works, but it didn't. I think it must be something related to IE security settings. Any idea? Thanks

  • Preview man-page without installing package.

    Hi I've checked out some typical open source project which is using auto-tools. I want to hack a bit on this package, but I would also like to change something in the man-page of the package. The man-page source is found project-name/doc/project-name.1. I just made a small change, and now I want to preview that change, without having to actually do a make install of the project. How do I do that? I tried stuff like: man -M . 1 project-name But it does not work, neither does the various variations I have tried. This sounds like a simple problem, but I can't seem to find anything by googling on the problem, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Thanks.

I've tried all of these to no avail.   • jQuery .ajax() call to page method works in FF only when async is false

    I'm calling a page method using .ajax() and it works in IE8 whatever the value of async is. However, in FF3.6, it only works with async set to false. When async is set to true, in Firebug, I just see status aborted. The page validates.   • jQuery.load() Retrieving partial page content causes duplicate ID in DOM

    Hello all, I currently have a JS function that allows me to load partial content from another page into the current page using jQuery.load() However I noticed when using this that I get a duplicate ID in the DOM (when inspecting with FireBug) This function is used in conjuction with a Flash Building viewe so it does not contain any code to retrieve the URL from the anchor tag. function displayApartment(apartmentID) { $("#apartmentInfo").load(siteURL + apartmentID + ".aspx #apartmentInfo", function () { //re-do links loaded in $("a.gallery").colorbox({ opacity: "0.5" }); }); } The code above works just fine in retrieving the content, however it just bugs me that when inspecting with firebug I get something like this. <div id="apartmentInfo"> <div id="apartmentInfo"> <!-- Remote HTML here..... --> </div> </div> Can anyone please suggest anything on how to remove the duplicate div?     Lets say I was to develop a small forum script, what types of topics pages would you find most helpful? I'd like to get an idea of what should be added. Viewing popular phpBB forums, they offer "Unanswered Posts", "Active Topics" and "Unread Topics". Obviously I'm already including a page to view your own topics and posts. My other question was, is it a big deal that I'm not tracking whether or not you've read a topic? I already provide the page showing all topics you've participated in... just not ones that you've "viewed". Would this be something forum users would only end up complaining about? I don't like the options available to track topics that are read/not read, that's the only reason I am not considering adding this feature at this stage. Many thanks everyone for any help.

    I have edited my apache vhost file in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled to add the following: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName www.mysite.cn ServerAlias mysite.cn *.mysite.cn DocumentRoot /home/user/static/mysite/cn </VirtualHost> It still points to the default site on the server when i browse to mysite.cn but when i enter anything along the lines of ww3.mysite.cn it point to the new correct document root any clues of what the problem could be as i am lost.
