• Wordpress Trackbacks Not Being Applied

  I am using Wordpress 2.9.1. I recently noticed the trackbacks are not being sent - internal or external. I see two issues I would like to solve. 1) My site has a default, global ping hub which it should notify. This value is not being set into the 'to_ping' value in the *_post table. 2) When I manually enter a trackback in the post, I notice the 'to_ping' value is properly set. It never sends the ping though. The 'pinged' value is always empty. With older versions of WP, this seemed to work automatically.

• Facebook proxy email not arriving -- do I need permissions?

  I'm building a website that allows user to connect using Facebook Connect. So far I'm able to log the user in and fetch data about them (name, email, pic, etc.). If I fetch the email (using Users.getInfo) I get a proxied email ([email protected]), which is absolutely great. Problem is, that email doesn't work. I've tried sending an email to it and I never received it. There are two reasons I see that could cause this: I don't have enough permissions. Ok, I can understand that, but if I don't have enough permissions then why are they returning an email at all? The email has to be somehow sent from the application itself (I've tried sending it from my Gmail account) -- but how would Facebook know that the email is coming from the application? So which is it? Or is it something else?

  Hello, I am interested in writing an email sniffer that saves all emails sent via web based clients to hd, but I can't work out how to do this. How can I catch HTTPS mail before it is encrypted? I would really appriciate some useful info. I cannot find anything information on the web. There's a program called HTTP Analyzer V5 that does the exact thing I want to make. How should I start? If I make a packet sniffer, it's useless because all data is encrypted. Is there any other option?

• jQuery-Ui Ajax Tabs bug?

  I have a JSON that returns from the server which tabs to build, so I init them in my JS like this: $('#tabs').tabs( 'ajaxOptions', { timeout: 20000, error: function(xhr, status, index, anchor){ console.log( status, index, anchor ); } }) .tabs('add', item.CategoryLink, item.CategoryName); Thing is, when I click a tab, and before it is done loading I click another tab, the previous request is aborted and never called again when I click that first one again! this is very bad, because it obviously didn't fetch the request, so what gives? I tried bypassing this by setting: .tabs({ cache: false }) but this is a bad thing to do, because I don't want to have a request each time again... it should be cachced if response was sent. using jquery-ui 1.8.1

• Getting error 400 / 404 - HttpUtility.UrlEncode not encoding full string?

  Why do the following URLs give me the IIS errors below: A) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/Small+test' A2) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/Small%20test' <-- this works, but is not the result from HttpUtility.UrlEncode() B) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/'%26$%23funky**!!~''+page Error for A: HTTP Error 404.11 - Not Found The request filtering module is configured to deny a request that contains a double escape sequence. Error for B: HTTP Error 400.0 - Bad Request ASP.NET detected invalid characters in the URL. The last part of the URL after /Show/ is the result after the text is being sent through HttpUtility.UrlEncode() so, according to Microsoft it is URL Encoded correctly. If I user HttpUtility.UrlPathEncode() rather than HttpUtility.UrlEncode() I get the A2 results. But B ends up looking like: http://192.168.1.96/TVCMS-CVJZ/cms/View.aspx/Show/'&$#funky**!!~''%20page which is still wrong. Does Microsoft know how to URL Encode at all? Is there a function someone has written up to do it the correct way?

• How does twitter server get to know single tweet ID from URL fragment segment?

  Each tweet has a single URL such as http://twitter.com/#!/DeliciousHot/status/23189589820702720. The tweet identification (/DeliciousHot/status/23189589820702720) is in the URL fragment segment which is not actually sent to server. Originally, I thought it works this way: The URL response doesn't have this tweet specific info. It is JavaScript module that extracts tweet id from current browser URL and fetch tweet payload with AJAX. The page content is then updated with the tweet payload. To my surprise, it is doesn't work this way! With Firebug, you can view that response of http://twitter.com/#!/DeliciousHot/status/23189589820702720 has tweet payload "10 Signs of a True Gentleman" text in inline JavaScript. The tweet payload is not fetched by another AJAX. So, how does Twitter server get to know the expected tweet ID even it is in URL fragment segment?

• ASP.NET MVC 2 - ViewData empty after POST

  I don't really know where to look for an error... the situation: I have an ASPX view which contains a form and a few input's, and when I click the submit button everything is POST'ed to one of my ASP.NET MVC actions. When I set a breakpoint there, it is hit correctly. When I use FireBug to see what is sent to the action, I correctly see data1=abc&data2=something&data3=1234. However, nothing is arriving in my action method. ViewData is empty, there is no ViewData["data1"] or anything else that would show that data arrived. How can this be? Where can I start looking for the error?

• Sending email from Drupal contact form, but GMail marks it as "Forged"

  Hi, My Drupal site sends email to a GMail account, but the emails sent all go into the Spam folder, and GMail puts up a bar with the message "This message was likely forged and did not originate from your account." Although I can create a filter to prevent them going to Spam, I want to start sending newsletters, and I suspect they'll have the same problem. I suspect the problem is with the way I've set up either PHP or Drupal to send mail. As far as I know it's just using the sendmail function. I've set the from address to "info@..." where ... is the site domain. Any tips on how I can make set up my outgoing mail so it won't be refused by GMail (and presumably other major mail providers)?   In a web2py view, how do I comment out server-side code? In ASP.NET, I can surround any HTML or code tags with <%-- and --% and that block will not be compiled or sent to the client. Velocity does the same thing with #* and *#. Is there an equivalent in web2py? • GWT and a jaxb objects

  I am trying to use GWT to build objects on the client side that would be sent to a web service elsewhere. These objects are generate through JAX-WS which I am pretty sure uses jaxb to build objects from the xsds that are in the wsdl. Anyhow, GWT was supposed to be able to support this by ignoring annotations or whatever, but it isn't working for me. Here is one of the errors that I am getting: Line 4: The import javax.xml.bind cannot be resolve I am using GWT 2 and the Google plugin for Eclipse.

  I have a singleton in my FTP app designed to store all of the types of servers that the app can handle, such as FTP or Amazon S3. These types are plugins which are located in the app bundle. Their path is located by applicationWillFinishLoading: and sent to the addServerType: method inside the singleton to be loaded and stored in an NSMutableDictionary. My question is this: How do I bind an NSDictionaryController to the dictionary inside the singleton instance? Can it be done in IB, or do I have to do it in code?   Hi, I am using an Objective c class, a subclass of NSObject. This class cannot be modified. I have an instance of this class that I wish to write to a file which can be retrieved and later reinstate. The object does not conform to NSCoding. To sum up, I need to save an instance of a class to a file which can be retrieved later, without using any of the NSCoding methods such as NSKeyedArchiving encodeWithCoder ... Using them returns this... NSInvalidArgumentException ...encodeWithCoder:] unrecognised selector sent to instance... Is there any other way I can store this object for later use Thank you

• WebSphere MQ Low Latency Messaging - Does it have a JMS (or JMS like) API?

  We are currently using IBM MQ via JMS, but seem to be pushing through more messages than it can handle - strangely, the problem seems to be intermittent. The messages are prices and thus dont need to be guaranteed, just need to be sent quickly. As IBM have a Low Latency product, I am wondering if that is perhaps the better solution - but it does not seem to have a JMS api, or at least not easily visible. Anyone know if there is a JMS api into the Low Latency product, or if the "unique" API it does have is JMS-like... Alternatively, pointers for MQ tuning would also be appreciated... :)

• Unit Testing Model Classes that derive from NSManagedObject

  So...I'm trying to get unit tests set up in my iPhone App but I'm having some issues. I'm trying to test my model classes but they inherit directly from NSManagedObject. I'm sure this is a problem but I don't know how to get around it. Everything is building and running as expected but I get this error when calling any method on the class I'm testing: Unknown.m:0:0 unrecognized selector sent to instance 0xc2b120 If I follow this structure (http://chanson.livejournal.com/115621.html) to create my object in my tests I end up with another error entirely but it still doesn't help me. Basically my question is this: how can I test a class that inherits from NSManagedObject?

• Visual Studio Symbols stored/loaded from wrong place

  Hello, I'm rather new to symbol servers and I've been experimenting with them and Visual Studio 2008 running Windows XP(SP3). I've encountered a wierd problem as my symbols are not being cached locally in the directory I've specified all the time. The possible reasons I have found for this si that the symbols(.pdb's) are being written to VS's IDE directory and/or the symbols are somehow being written in with the .exe, which I find odd since it should be read only. The symbols are being sent to the "server" I've specified so that part of the system shouldn't be the problem. Has anyone else had this type of issue before and/or maybe a solution to this problem? • How can I expose a service bus by a wcf service to be consumed by a silverlight client

  In a Silverlight application, instead of consuming and writing (wcf) wrappers around messages that finally get sent to the bus, I want to send use my message bus as directly as possible. My idea was to expose the service bus directly as a wcf service, or, in other terms, I want to bidirectionally pub/sub over the wire. Has this been done already? Is bi-directionality doable at all? After all, we are (are we restricted to that?) in the http domain? Lots of questions. Some head start would be greatly appreciated! I am in .NET land, with using Rhino Service Bus, but the pattern should apply to different platforms.

• Strophe javascript prevent disconnection on some delay

  Hello, I am developing javascript XMPP application which uses Strophe library to connect to Jabber server. I need to engage the thread for about 5-10 seconds when Strophe connects to the server. Thread is engaged by running java applet and after it releases the thread it goes back to handle XMPP events, however at the moment I cannot manage to do that - trying to use a connection after delay gives me 404 HTTP error (this is sent by XMPP-BOSHS service straight after Strophe sends POST request with XMPP message to it). I was trying to 'pause' a connection with Strophe's connection.pause and then resume it - didn't work. Would sending some raw content to the server, maybe if it's possible telling it that client's gonna be unresponsive for a short time work ? Are there any other solutions ? Thanks

However a client needs to put the credentials into the url like so: https://username:[email protected]/my_secure_document When I looked at what was actually sent, it looks like the password is being hashed. What is the proper way to authenticate in this fashion using Restlet?

The data is sent in PDU format - I am required to change ASCII characters to 7 bit GSM alphabet characters. To do this I've come across several examples, such as http://www.dreamfabric.com/sms/hello.html This example shows Rightmost bits of the second septet, being inserted into the first septect, to create an octect. Bitwise shifts do not cause this to happen, as will insert to the left, and << to the right. As I understand it, I need some kind of bitwise rotate to create this - can anyone tell me how to move bits from the right handside and insert them on the left? Thanks,

• IIS Virtual Directory/Application & Forms authentication

  I've setup and deployed a simple forms authentication website with membership using .NET 4. I've created a virtual directory (now converted to "Application") in IIS7 and setup the web.config file in the virtual directory as follows: <system.webServer> <directoryBrowse enabled="true" /> </system.webServer> Great! I browse to the virtual directory: ../mydomain/books/ and I'm automatically redirected to the login page specified by web.config in my root directory and the url path is placed as follows: ../Account/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fbooks At this point, I login succesfully, but I am not redirected anywhere, and when I manually return to the directory, ../books, I'm sent back to the login page, where I'm already logged in? So I'm confused about what my problem is! I should be successfully authenticated, and than redirected back to the directory, or at the very least be able to view it manually after I log in right?

  I am fluent in HTML and PHP and slowly learning JavaScript however I have noticed that there is a huge hole in my knowledge when it comes to understanding how web software communications actually work. I understand the flow of information across the net however I would like to learn about HTTP protocols to better understand how the data is actually sent back and forth through the internet to help me understand things like REST, HTTP Headers, AJAX requests, etc. However, I must be searching the wrong terms because I haven't been able to find a good description of HTTP protocols. • PHP script to process NSURLRequest from iphone

  Hi, i will be sending a POST request to login.php on my server from an iphone app over HTTPS. The POST is created using NSMutableURLRequest. Is there an example of a PHP script to process this POST on my server. The POST isn't sent as a form as such , anyway not that i think it is. Not sure how NSMutableURLRequest formats this. I just need to know how to access the POST data on the server with the php script. All the examples ive seen regarding php scripts processing POSTS seem to be do with forms. So how do i process this? Any links etc most welcome. Thanks
