  • MediaTemple Django Bad Gateway

    - by Eeyore
    I have a site running on GS server on MediaTemple. It's Django/PostgreSQL setup. For some reason from time to time I get Bad Gateway error and I can't figure out what's causing it. What can cause this error? What else can I do to find the cause of the problem? url.access-deny = ( "~", ".inc" ) fastcgi.server = ( "/main.fcgi" => ( "main" => ( "socket" => "/var/tmp/" + appname + ".sock", # don't change this "check-local" => "disable", ) ) ) alias.url = ( "/media/" => "/home/xxx/data/python/django/django/contrib/admin/media/", "/static/" => "/home/xxx/containers/django/site/static/", ) url.rewrite-once = ( "^(/media.*)$" => "$1", "^(/static.*)$" => "$1", "^/favicon\.ico$" => "/media/favicon.ico", "^(/.*)$" => "/main.fcgi$1", ) server.error-handler-404 = "/main.fcgi"

  • Does a bad Internet connection increase bandwidth usage?

    - by Synetech
My (Rogers) cable connection has been pretty bad recently (channels 3 and 10 are particularly fuzzy—it’s analog, not digital cable). Not surprisingly, this has caused my cable modem to drop out and have to reestablish a connection a couple of times since it started. The poor connection of course means higher corruption (not necessarily dropped per se) which causes the TCP/IP stack to have to retransmit packets more often. Reduction of bandwidth throughput aside, I got to wondering if it increases the actual bandwidth usage. That is, if there is a high error rate on the line causing packets to have to be retransmitted: Does this increase a bandwidth monitoring program’s numbers? Does the ISP count the retransmitted packets toward the monthly cap? Based on what I remember from my university networking courses and common sense, I have a feeling that the answer to both questions is yes, but I cannot reliably measure the first, and have no authoritative answer for the second. I’m wondering if maybe the retransmitted packets are acknowledged as being duplicates and thus not counted somewhere along the line.

  • Dell Power Edge R515 - Replacing a Bad Hard Drive in a RAID

    - by LonnieBest
I've ordered a new hard drive to replace a bad one in a Dell Power Edge R515. The manual covers obvious topics regarding physical replacing of hard drives, but I've never done this before on a production server where RAID is involved. I've heard people talk about this topic, and I've heard that some servers have RAID controllers that are smart enough to allow you to just put in the new drive (hot swap), and then the server will know automatically how to rebuild that drive to be what the old one was to the system. Where do I find the proper procedure for replacing a failed hard drive on a live production Dell Power Edge R515? Can someone with experience tell me how easy or hard this usually is?

  • In Windows Vista, when starting any and every program, a "bad image" error is generated

    - by Mark Hatton
I have a problem where any program is started under Windows Vista, the following error message is generated Bad Image C;\PROGRA~1\Google\GOOGLE~3\GOEC62~1.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. This happens for every program started, including those that start automatically at boot time. My Google-fu is failing to solve this for me. I have already tried an "sfc /scannow" which did find some problems, but it said that it could not correct them. What might cause this problem? How might it be resolved?

  • "Unknown user name or bad password" when I launch ADUC

    - by Chris
When I open up Active Directory Users and Computers from my workstation, I receive an error: Naming information cannot be located because: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. Contact your system administrator to verify that your domain is properly configured and is currently online. If I log in to my workstation as somebody else, it works. If I log into a different workstation using my account, it works. All the workstations in question are running Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit) or Windows Server 2008. The domain controller in question is running Windows Small Business Server 2008. Everything else (that I tried) in the Remote Server Administration Tools runs just fine. Any thoughts? Edit: I just tried reinstalling RSAT. No such luck.

  • bad switchs duplicate my ip

    - by tacoen
I had a large area LAN. There were many switch and AP on it, then somehow I couldn't ping my servers, and it's said that the IP was duplicated. I use arpwatch and found out that one of the switch flip-flop-ing the IP. I isolated that troublesome switch using his mac-address. But, since this a large area LAN... I doubt this will be the last cases. If there any software or hardware that I can use to prevent this kind of error? Sorry for my bad English.

  • how to set up domain name, bad request invalid hostname

    - by user45645
assume i have a domain name which will be forwarded to my public ip (web server) automatically. in IIS 6, ip is public ip port is 6666, advanced - host value is www.hello.com firewall is open for 6666(web server port) and 53(DNS port), DMZ of router is my physical address in DNS, i have already had a zone called oldhello.com. And i expect a new domain name. So i have addded a new zone called hello.com and checked SOA server (P) is one.hello.local. then added a new host called one, full name is one.hello.com, ip address 192.168.7.3(my address in router) and then add a alias(CNAME) www, full name is www.hello.com, FQDN i choose the host i added before (one.hello.com) i expected that when i type the public ip in browser, can it be changed to domain name automatically. if not set host value www.hello.com, use public ip i can see the web however, after set up host value www.hello.com, browser show bad request invalid hostname

  • Seagate 1TB 'EXPANSION' external hard drive, showing as BAD

    - by Dave Plews
Hello! I have bough an external Seagate 1TB drive, which my XP system can see and will write files to, however when I use Partition Magic it describes the whole partition as BAD, and it is shown in yellow. All the options are greyed out. When I use Drive Image XML to try and copy drive to drive (I want a comlplete copy of my C drive including OS), I get an error message saying it can't lock the drive. The external drive is brand new and uses NTFS. Any ideas? Seagate 'support' haven't bothered getting back to me. Incidentally, I have another external drive (320GB), which uses FAT32 and Partition Magic sees that fine. I am doing a full format of the Seagate at the moment, to see if this helps. Thanks in advance!

  • Bad password when logging in via Remote Desktop

    - by Shiraz Bhaiji
I have just setup a windows 2003 server running in hyper-V. When I log in via Hyper-V it works fine. When I try to login via remote desktop I get a bad user name or password error. I have: Disabled the firewall Enabled remote connections Before I did the above I did not get to the login screen. I can ping the ip address of the image. I am trying to login as Administrator. Anyone have an idea about how to fix this? Edit I have now managed to fix this by changing the password to something without special characters. Strange thing is the I could not see any problems with the passord, had tried typing it into the user name field to check it.

  • Do I have a bad SD card?

    - by User1
I'm trying to copy data from my computer to an SD card. After a few hundred megs, I keep getting the following errors in dmesg: [34542.836192] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 855936 [34542.836284] FAT: unable to read inode block for updating (i_pos 13694981) [34542.836306] MMC: killing requests for dead queue [34542.836310] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 9280 [34542.837035] FAT: unable to read inode block for updating (i_pos 148486) [34542.837062] MMC: killing requests for dead queue [34542.837066] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 1 [34542.837074] FAT: bread failed in fat_clusters_flush [34542.837085] MMC: killing requests for dead queue These were all files I copied from a smaller SD card. I just want to transfer them to my new, larger card for my phone. I tried the same experiment with different files on a different machine and the card failed again. Reading data from the old card went fine. My systems are older and the new SD card is new (16GB Class 4). Could this be that my computers are too old? Is there a definitive test to verify if my SD card is bad?

I think this is the right spot to post this question. Please don't flame me if it isn't. My work computer is a Dell Prescision M6400 laptop. I use the VGA output to a second monitor. There is something wrong with my second monitor's output. Here is a screenshot of my desktop. You can see fragments of the right side of a Windows File Explorer window in the image. Is this a bad video card?

  • “BAD” partition showing up in Partition Manager

    - by Quintin Par
I tried to partition my primary hard disk (NTFS partitions) with qtparted and got stuck in the process. Consequently I had to kill the process and exit my knoppix live CD boot up. Even though I was expecting XP to get corrupted, it booted fine and showed up all the drives accessible. But when I opened this with partition manager 8, it shows up as “BAD”. I ran chkdsk /f without any success. My objective with qparted and partition magic was to resize my existing partitions and add some space to c: How do I fix this problem and resize my partitions? Edit: Here's how my primary drive as per Windows is:

  • Objective-C NSMutableArray Count Causes EXC_BAD_ACCESS

    - by JoshEH
I've been stuck on this for days and each time I come back to it I keep making my code more and more confusing to myself, lol. Here's what I'm trying to do. I have table list of charges, I tap on one and brings up a model view with charge details. Now when the model is presented a object is created to fetch a XML list of users and parses it and returns a NSMutableArray via a custom delegate. I then have a button that presents a picker popover, when the popover view is called the user array is used in an initWithArray call to the popover view. I know the data in the array is right, but when [pickerUsers count] is called I get an EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I assume it's a memory/ownership issue but nothing seems to help. Any help would be appreciated. Relevant code snippets: Charge Popover (Charge details model view): @interface ChargePopoverViewController ..... NSMutableArray *pickerUserList; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *pickerUserList; @implementation ChargePopoverViewController @synthesize whoOwesPickerButton, pickerUserList; - (void)viewDidLoad { JEHWebAPIPickerUsers *fetcher = [[JEHWebAPIPickerUsers alloc] init]; fetcher.delegate = self; [fetcher fetchUsers]; } -(void) JEHWebAPIFetchedUsers:(NSMutableArray *)theData { [pickerUserList release]; pickerUserList = theData; } - (void) pickWhoPaid: (id) sender { UserPickerViewController* content = [[UserPickerViewController alloc] initWithArray:pickerUserList]; UIPopoverController *popover = [[UIPopoverController alloc] initWithContentViewController:content]; [popover presentPopoverFromRect:whoPaidPickerButton.frame inView:self.view permittedArrowDirections:UIPopoverArrowDirectionAny animated:YES]; content.delegate = self; } User Picker View Controller @interface UserPickerViewController ..... NSMutableArray *pickerUsers; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *pickerUsers; @implementation UserPickerViewController @synthesize pickerUsers; -(UserPickerViewController*) initWithArray:(NSMutableArray *)theUsers { self = [super init]; if ( self ) { self.pickerUsers = theUsers; } return self; } - (NSInteger)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)thePickerView numberOfRowsInComponent:(NSInteger)component { // Dies Here EXC_BAD_ACCESS, but NSLog(@"The content of array is%@",pickerUsers); shows correct array data return [pickerUsers count]; } I can provide additional code if it might help. Thanks in advance.

  • Getters and Setters are bad OO design?

    - by Dan
Getters and Setters are bad Briefly reading over the above article I find that getters and setters are bad OO design and should be avoided as they go against Encapsulation and Data Hiding. As this is the case how can it be avoided when creating objects and how can one model objects to take this into account. In cases where a getter or setter is required what other alternatives can be used? Thanks.

  • EXC_BAD_ACCESS when I change moviePlayer contentURL

    - by Bruno
Hello, In few words, my application is doing that : 1) My main view (MovieListController) has some video thumbnails and when I tap on one, it displays the moviePlayer (MoviePlayerViewController) : MovieListController.h : @interface MoviePlayerViewController : UIViewController <UITableViewDelegate>{ UIView *viewForMovie; MPMoviePlayerController *player; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIView *viewForMovie; @property (nonatomic, retain) MPMoviePlayerController *player; - (NSURL *)movieURL; @end MovieListController.m : MoviePlayerViewController *controllerTV = [[MoviePlayerViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MoviePlayerViewController" bundle:nil]; controllerTV.delegate = self; controllerTV.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleFlipHorizontal; [self presentModalViewController: controllerTV animated: YES]; [controllerTV release]; 2) In my moviePlayer, I initialize the video I want to play MoviePlayerViewController.m : @implementation MoviePlayerViewController @synthesize player; @synthesize viewForMovie; - (void)viewDidLoad { NSLog(@"start"); [super viewDidLoad]; self.player = [[MPMoviePlayerController alloc] init]; self.player.view.frame = self.viewForMovie.bounds; self.player.view.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight; [self.viewForMovie addSubview:player.view]; self.player.contentURL = [self movieURL]; } - (void)dealloc { NSLog(@"dealloc TV"); [player release]; [viewForMovie release]; [super dealloc]; } -(NSURL *)movieURL { NSBundle *bundle = [NSBundle mainBundle]; NSString *moviePath = [bundle pathForResource:@"FR_Tribord_Surf camp_100204" ofType:@"mp4"]; if (moviePath) { return [NSURL fileURLWithPath:moviePath]; } else { return nil; } } - It's working good, my movie is display My problem : When I go back to my main view : - (void) returnToMap: (MoviePlayerViewController *) controller { [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated: YES]; } And I tap in a thumbnail to display again the moviePlayer (MoviePlayerViewController), I get a *Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”.* In my debugger I saw that it's stopping on the thread "main" : // // main.m // MoviePlayer // // Created by Eric Freeman on 3/27/10. // Copyright Apple Inc 2010. • CoreData : App crashes when deleting last instance created

    - by Leo
    Hello, I have a 2 tabs application. In the first one, I'm creating objects of the "Sample" and "SampleList" entities. Each sampleList contains an ID and a set of samples. Each sample contains a date and temperature property. In the second tab, I'm displaying my data in a tableView. I implemented the - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView commitEditingStyle:(UITableViewCellEditingStyle)editingStyle forRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath method in order to delete SampleLists. In my xcdatamodel the delete rule for my relationship between SampleList and Sample is Cascade. My problem is that when I try to delete SampleList I just created, the app crashes and I receive a EXC_BAD_ACCESS signal. If I restart it, then I'm able to delete "old" sampleList without any problems. Earlier, I had the following problem : I couldn't display the the sampleLists I created since I launched the app, because it crashed too. I received also the EXC_BAD_ACCESS signal. Actually, it seemed that the date of the last sample created of the set was nil. If I am not releasing the NSDate I'm using to set the sample's date, I don't have this problem anymore... If anyone could help me to find out what could cause my troubles it would be great !! Here is the method I'm using to create new instances : SampleList *newSampleList = (SampleList *)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"SampleList" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; [newSampleList setPatchID:patchID]; NSMutableSet *newSampleSet = [[NSMutableSet alloc] init]; NSCalendar *gregorian = [[NSCalendar alloc] initWithCalendarIdentifier:NSGregorianCalendar]; for (int i = 0; i < [byteArray count]; i=i+4, sampleCount++) { NSDateComponents *comps = [[NSDateComponents alloc] init]; [comps setYear:year]; [comps setMonth:month]; [comps setDay:day]; [comps setHour:hours]; [comps setMinute:minutes]; NSDate *sampleDate = [gregorian dateFromComponents:comps]; Sample *newSample = (Sample *)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Sample" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; [newSample setSampleDate:sampleDate]; [newSample setSampleTemperature:[NSNumber numberWithInt:temperature]]; [newSampleSet addObject:newSample]; [comps release]; //[sampleDate release]; } [newSampleList setSampleSet:newSampleSet]; // [newSampleSet release]; NSError *error; if (![managedObjectContext save:&error]) { NSLog(@"Could not Save the context !!"); } [gregorian release];

  • EXC_BAD_ACCESS iPhone Development

    - by gkres121
Sorry, this could be a simple fix, as I am new to iPhone Development. In my Delegate, after pressing the create profile button, the create profile view is pushed: -(void) createProfile_clicked:(id)sender { AddNewProfile *create = [[AddNewProfile alloc] init]; [self.window addSubview:create.view]; [self invisibleCreateProfileBar]; AddNewProfile *controller = [[AddNewProfile alloc] initWithNibName:@"AddNewProfile" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; [ self.navigationController pushViewController:controller animated:YES ]; currentController=controller; } Then in the AddNewProfile.m: - (IBAction)backgroundTap:(id)sender { if([nameField isFirstResponder]){ [nameField resignFirstResponder]; } if([ageField isFirstResponder]){ [ageField resignFirstResponder]; } if([doctorNameField isFirstResponder]){ [doctorNameField isFirstResponder]; } if([doctorNumberField isFirstResponder]){ [doctorNumberField resignFirstResponder]; } } This leads to a exc_bad_access error every time the FirstResponder is ever messed with, with any of my controls. I can select a control(text box), but once I click out of one, it crashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a HP DL360 server with 4x 146GB SAS disks and a Smart Array P400i RAID controller with 256MB cache. The disks are in RAID 5 (3 disks + 1 hot spare). The server is running VMware ESX 3i. This has been a problem from the start. Any ideas?

  • BAD ARCHIVE MIRROR using PXE BOOT method

    - by omkar
i m trying to automatically install UBUNTU on a client PC by using the method of PXE BOOT method....my Objectives are below:- i m following the steps given in this link installation using PXE BOOT INSTALL 1:-the server will have a KICKSTART config file which contains the parameters for the OS installation and the files which are required for the OS installations. 2:-the client will have to detect this configuration along with the setup files and complete the installation without any input from the user. In my server i have installed DHCP3-server,Apache2 and TFTP for helping me with the installation. i have nearly achieved my first objective,i m able to boot my client using the files stored in the server, but during the installation stage it is asking me to "CHOOSE A MIRROR of UBUNTU ARCHIVE".i gave the server's IP address and the path in the server where the files are located but then too its giving me error "BAD ARCHIVE MIRROR". so is it possible that instead of downloading all the files from the internet and storing them on my disk , can i use the files which comes with the UBUNTU-CD, and how to store this files in what format (should i zip them ) on the disk. secondly i am also generating the ks.cfg which i wanted to give to the client for automatic installation of the OS ,so how should the configuration file be given to the installation process.

  • Cisco 7206 error trying to copy running-config (Bad file number)

    - by jasondewitt
I have a cisco 7206 that terminates a bunch of pppoa sessions for dsl users. Today I noticed that if I tried to "show run" nothing happened. I mean that it doesn't show anything and just sends me right back to the command prompt. I decided I should probably try and back up the config and that is where I'm stuck. Any time I try to copy the running-config to tftp or to pcmcia card that I know is not full I get the following error: %Error opening system:/running-config (Bad file number) I get this error when I try to do anything with the running config. I've been googling around, but I haven't found any thing else that talks about this error. I've seen people say to erase the nvram and then try to "copy run start", but I don't want to erase the nvram until I can pull off a copy of the running-config. I would try to reboot it, but the startup-config that is on the nvram looks to be woefully out of date (good job me!). Any ideas what might be wrong? or how I can get the running config off the router?
