    hi, i have dataset(dataset name dsEmp) with an 25 columns , here i need to add an new column with columname as "EndDate" of data type as string now i need to import all the data from column18 whose datatype is Datetime to the newely created datacolumn "EndDate" once we import all the data from the column 18 to the newcolumn "EndDate" , we should remove the column18 hope my Question is clear, can any one please help me this.

  • dynamically updating a datagrid from a XML file c# 3.5

    I have a datagrid that is populated via XML file when the form loads. Everything is working great but I would like the datagrid to update dynamically when a new order is received (Separate class receives a data stream and updates the file). Im looking for suggestions on how this should be done. (ie using a timer update every second, or monitor the file using FileSystemWatcher.. etc) Since where here, I might as well mention that in order to update the datagrid Im clearing the whole data set and Re-reading the file using: DataSet.Clear(); DataSet.ReadXml("file.xml"); dataGridView1.DataSource = DataSet; if this is not the proper approach, please offer any alternate suggestions.

  • C# Same DataSource + Multiple DataGridViews = Data Binding Issues?

    Here's what I'm doing: I have (2) DataGridView controls DGV #1 is bound to the DataSet, DGV #2 is bound to a DataView of the SAME DataSet Now, what I'm needing to accomplish here is this: When a user checks a boolean column on the original DGV, the second DGV should now display the newly checked row also. The context is that the first DGV is a master list, and the second one is a "favorite" view of the first. When I check the rows, the favorite column does NOT update. Do I need to use a DataAdapter to actually update the database, or can I operate directly on the DataSet (DataTable) -- or even with the Rows in the original DataGridView?

  • Report Builder 2.0 - Creating DataSet - User Not Authorized

    Hello, we are currently using SQL Server Reporting Services and we would like to use Report Builder so our customers can create reports themselves. I have created a User on the server. I have added this user to the SQLServerMSSQLUser and SQLServerReportServerUser groups. I have given this User db_datareader access to the required database and to the Reporting Services database. I've also tried giving the User db_owner access to the Reporting Services db's. And on the Report Manager, this User is a System_User, but has all access (every checkbox is checked). When I connect using Report Builder, I can select the Report Model to create a DataSource, but when I try to create a DataSet, I get the following error: An error occurred while connection to datasource 'DataSource1'. The details are: 'User Not Authorized'. Does anyone know what server permissions I forgot to set? I'm assuming it's a Windows permissions issue because I do not see any database login errors in the event logs.

  • Unable to mount Amazon Public Dataset using ec2-create-volume

    I am trying to use a Public Dataset with the snapshot id of snap-­e1608d88. I am looking at these instructions, but they do not seem to help. The first suggestion there says I should click on Volumes and create a new volume, set it's size and availability zone, as well as specifying the snapshot id. The problem is, snapshot id is a dropdown, not a text field, and there are over 100 options in the dropdown. Next I installed the ec2 command line tools and tried to run the ec2-create-volume command. For my first attempt I tried ec2-create-volume --snapshot snap-­e1608d88 --availability-zone us-east-1 but that gave output indicating I need to provide a certificate with the --cert switch. Which certficate exactly? I tried my SSH cert at ~/.ssh/id_rsa. No dice. I got the following Java error: "org.codehaus.xfire.fault.XFireFault: General security error;"

  • How to load images and fragments dynamically in LiveCycle Designer forms?

    Hi there. I've created a couple of shared templates (.xdp) which will be shared among several clients. Obviously, each client has their own logo and I'd like to set the logo upon form generation. I've managed to change the logo dynamically although I'm not sure if my approach is good. In the xml datasource I've got this element: <ClientID>SomeNumber</ClientId> In the form itself I set the image href with this javascript code: SomeHiddenTextField::calculate HeaderLogo.value.image.href = $record.ClientID + "_logo.jpg"; I've got the logos stored on the server in the same folder as the shared templates. Is this an alright approach to load logos dynamically? I've been trying to achieve the same dynamic behaviour with each client's footer fragment, but I have been unable to figure out how to load these on demand. I could make each footer fragment in to an image but I'd like to avoid it if possible.

    Hi, I've been using C# for a while and began a program now to learn WPF-which means I know almost nothing of it. I used this tutorial as a guide to do what I wanted to do (which is binding a database to a datagrid), after a hard struggle to add the adapter as the source of the datagrid I now want to enable editing with validation on some of the cells. My problem is that the data is sent straight from the adapter and not through an object collection (I had a hard time getting to this situation, see the first half of the tutorial on how to bind the adapter and dataset through the resources) but the tutorial doesn't show a way to validate the datagrid if the data is sent through an adapter-only through a collection. To make it clear-how do I validate input in a datagrid that is bound to an adapter through a resource?   • Reporting Services keeps erasing my dataset parameters

    I'm using a web service and every time I change something on the dataset, it erases all my parameters. The weird thing is, I can execute the web service call from the data tab and it prompts for all my parameters, but if I click to edit the data the list is empty or if I try to preview the report it blows up because parameters are missing. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there is a way to prevent this behavior. Here is a copy of the dataset, not that I think it matters. This has to be the most annoying bug (if its a bug) ever. I can't even execute the dataset from the designer without it erasing my parameter list. When you have about 10 parameters and you are making all kinds of changes to a new report, it becomes very tedious to be constantly re-typing the same list over and over.     Hi: I am using myXmlDataDoc.DataSet.ReadXml(xml_file_name, XmlReadMode.InferSchema); to populate the tables within the dataset created by reading in a xml schema using: myStreamReader = new StreamReader(xsd_file_name); myXmlDataDoc.DataSet.ReadXmlSchema(myStreamReader); The problems I am facing is when it comes to read the xml tag: The readXml function puts the element in a different table and everything in the tables are 0s.     linq to sql visual studio Object-Relational designer generates C# entity class names same as the table names (except pluralizing it). so if the table name is authors it generates entity class with name "author". If the table name is Customers it generates class with name "Customer". Is there any option that can be set to make the designer generate entity class names as pascal cased. I am using VS 2010 if that makes any difference. Thanks.

  • Cannot destroy ZFS snapshot: dataset already exists

    I have a server (T5220, though I doubt it matters) running Solaris 10 8/07 and I have a ZFS pool, "mysql", on internal disk. Within it I have a filesystem "mysql/data/4.1.12", which I snapshot hourly with a script from cron. I have one snapshot, created as one of those hourly snaps, that will not destroy. I have renamed it out of sequence to be "mysql/data/4.1.12@wibble" so that my script will not try and fail to destroy it, but it was originally within the sequence, though I doubt that matters. It renames successfully. The snapshot can be successfully navigated and read from through the .zfs/snapshots directory. It has no clones based on it. Trying to destroy it does this: (265) root@web-mysql4:/# zfs destroy mysql/data/4.1.12@wibble cannot destroy 'mysql/data/4.1.12@wibble': dataset already exists (266) root@web-mysql4:/# which is apparently nonsensical: of course it already exists, that's the point! Anyone seen anything like this before? Web searches show nothing obviously similar. I can provide patches installed if necessary.
