  • Connect to SQL Server Compact Edition in SSIS

    Till now I've been exporting data INTO the SQL Server CE database, but now in SSIS I'm attempting to source data that was inserted in a previous step of the import. The SSIS fails during validation with the following error Error: Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DtsCouldNotCreateManagedConnectionException: Could not create a managed connection manager. I am attempting to use the ADO NET Source that connects to the Data Source using the Microsoft.SqlServerCe.Client.3.5 provider (i.e. ADO.NET connection manager). I CAN preview the data in the ADO.NET Source editor, but the package validation fails due to the above error.

  • Crystal reports .net visual studio 2008 bundled edition

    I have a serious issue with crystal reports. when run in my development environment or debugged on my local machine it works fine. but when the application is published to a windows server 2003 it has the dreaded "The report you requested requires further information" Message I have had no luck trying to get rid of this message Anybody know what I can try? DC Here is a bunch more info. I use a placeholder in the aspx page and then set the user/password and database in the codebehind I could not get it to work with a dataset and found that I had to assign odbc connection in the cr designer. and then in the code behind change the above details as required. So now I am developing debugging and testing on the same machine! In VS2008 I can edit and preview the reports with no problems If I fire up the debugger I can view the reports in the browser with no problems But if I publish the website to another folder on the same machine and fire up IIS and try to browse to a report I get the aforementioned error. All else works as expected. IIS runs under different permissions than VS2008 so perhaps its something to do with that, but I have tried lots of different permissions and cannot get it to run. DC

    I was wondering if anyone else has figured out how to solve this problem. Whether I install the extension via PECL or compile it by hand, I get the same error: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/zend/lib/php_extensions/gearman.so' - dlopen(/usr/local/zend/lib/php_extensions/gearman.so, 9): no suitable image found. Did find: /usr/local/zend/lib/php_extensions/gearman.so: mach-o, but wrong architecture in Unknown on line 0 I have no idea how to fix this problem and I can only bang my head into my desk so many times.

    I'm trying to parameterise a search query that uses the LIKE keyword with a wildcard. The original sql has dynamic sql like this: "AND JOB_POSTCODE LIKE '" + isPostCode + "%' " So I've tried this instead, but I get a FormatException: "AND JOB_POSTCODE LIKE @postcode + '%' " Edit: I guess the FormatException isn't going to be coming from Sql Server CE, so as requested, here is how I set the parameter in my C# code. The parameter is set in code like this: command.Parameters.Add("@postcode", SqlDbType.NVarChar).Value = isPostCode; I also tried: "AND JOB_POSTCODE LIKE @postcode" with command.Parameters.Add("@postcode", SqlDbType.NVarChar).Value = isPostCode + "%"; but that doesn't return any results. Can anyone advise how to use parameters in this search sql?

  • Visual studio 2008 Professional Edition acting weird

    I have a weird situation on a winform project. I have user control (with 600 lines of code around) with a datagridview. I change de ColumnHeaderStyle of the font and save it. After I save the file I close it and open again, the changes were not saved (although the asterisk is dissapeared), because the ColumnHeaderStyle is back to the former value. This is driving me crazy because I cannot change any visual thing in the Designer. Any clue? Thanks in advance.

    I am attempting to wipe and repopulate test data on SQL CE. I am getting an error due to FK constraints existing. Typically in Sql2005 I would ALTER TABLE [tablename] CHECK/NOCHECK CONSTRAINT ALL to enable/disable all constraints. From what I could find in my searching, it seems that this might not be supported in CE. Is that true? If so, is there an alternative?

    Amikor HA (High Availability - Magas Rendelkezésre Állás) megoldásokról beszélünk, általában elsoként a klaszterek, redundáns megoldások jutnak eszünkbe. Pedig nem csak a hardver hibákra kell gondolni, hanem a tervezett leállásokkal is érdemes foglalkozni. Az egyik talán legkevésbé megoldott probléma az, ha egy alkalmazás verzió váltást kell végrehajtani úgy, hogy közben változik az adatstruktúra is. Ez nyilván azt eredményezi, hogy le kell állítani az adatbázist is, és az átszervezéseket, akár adat átalakításokkal együtt végre kell hajtani. De a legnagyobb probléma talán az, hogy amennyiben valami rosszul sül el, és vissza kell állni a kiinduló állapotra, akkor az adatbázis mentést is vissza kell tölteni, hiszen átmenetileg minden felhasználó aki épp használatba vette az új alkalmazás verziót már egy új adatstruktúrába kezdett dolgozni. Az Oracle Database Online Application Upgrade képessége, vagy pontosabb nevén az Edition Based Redefinition pontosan ezt a problémát célozza meg. Az Edition Based Redefinition 3 alap objektummal muködik, ezek: edition, editioning view és crossedition trigger. Az edition egy új nonschema objektum típus. 11gR2 verziótól minden adatbázis rendelkezik legalább egy edition-nel, melynek neve Ora$Base. Minden új edition egy már létezo gyermeke kell, hogy legyen. Amikor kapcsolódunk az adatbázishoz, meghatározható, hogy melyik edition-höz kapcsolódjunk. Kizárólag nézetek, szinonímák és PL/SQL ojektum típusoknak lehet több edíciója (ezek metadat típusú objektumok, nem tartalmaznak adatokat). Azok az objektumok, melyek több edícióval rendelkeznek egyedileg csak úgy azonosíthatók, ha az owner, name, namespace mellett az edition-t is megnevezzük. Azaz két vagy több példánya is létezhet egy adatbázison belül ugyanazzal az owner, name és namespace azonosítókkal rendelkezo objektumnak, amennyiben használjuk az edition-based redefinition-t. Egy új objektum típus, az editioning view is edicionálható. Mivel a fizikai tábla nem edicionálható (elkerülendo az adatok többszörös tárolását és teljesítmény gondokat), ezért az editioning view feladata egy adott tábla egyszeru leképezése egy nézet formájában, ami már több edition-ben is létezhet, és képes elfedni a tábla módosításait. Amennyiben a tábla módosítások olyan táblákat érintenek, amelyek tartalmát  az alkalmazás felhasználók módosítják, szükség van olyan triggerekre, amelyek az egyes editioning view-k között a módosításokat karbantartják. Ezek a crossedition triggerek. Természetesen ahhoz, hogy az online application upgrade muködjön, minden érintett tábla elé el kell készíteni az editioning nézetet és a megfelelo crossedition triggereket. Ezeket használva az alkalmazás két vagy több különbözo verzió képes ugyanazon adatbázison párhuzamosan futni, és ha megtörtént a verzióváltás, akkor még mindig egyszeru visszaállni a régi verzióra egészen addig, amíg a régi edition eldobásra nem kerül.   • Issue connecting to SQL Compact Edition on Windows Mobile 6 Emulator

    I am developing an application for Windows Mobile 6 using an emulator. When I try to open the database connection to the SDF file it is throwing an exception that it is not able to connect or find the file. My questions are: Where on the mobile device is the SDF file supposed to be deployed? Does the SDF file get automatically deployed to the emulator when I build the project (like in then windows forms app) or do I have to do that manually? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Visual C++ 6.0 Academic Edition, using MFC as a static library

    I need to compile some mfc code that was written using Visual C++ 6.0 many years ago. I was supposed to be able to choose New-Project-Win32 Application and then in Project-Settings choose "Using MFC as a static library." I'm using the AE version and this could be the reason that this option is not available. So far, the smaller programs compile using the "Use MFC as a shared dll", but I'd like to have or mimic the other option. Any suggestions?

    I am running NDB mysql. the log files fills up the /var directory. therefore i cant start the ndbd service now. as a temporary fix, i have deleted the log files and again working fine. but again the log files fill up the /var directory. i got plenty of space in other partition. therefore i would like to swap the partition from one directory to /var. here if my input from df -h Filesystem Type Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 ext3 54G 2.9G 49G 6% / /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 ext3 99M 14M 81M 14% /boot none tmpfs 1013M 0 1013M 0% /dev/shm /dev/cciss/c0d0p2 ext3 9.7G 9.7G 0 100% /var there are plenty of space in /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00. Therefore i will like to swap 10 G space from this directory to /var. could you please help me out to solve this problem?

    I've had a look through quite a few tutorials, but cant seem to find how to open multipe windows? I'm not expecting to have them layer etc, I just want to define multiple window classes and say, from a menu, launch the appropriate window class from the menu window. Then when that window is finished, call the close method on it and menu will show again. I have managed to do the same kind of functionality using panels, but think window is really what I should be using? (.NET MF 4.0) I assume you can do this? I think im missing something obvious?

In PostgreSQL, a RULE or a stored procedure can be used to delete data on the fly, evaluating condition only once. Which solution is better? Are there other options?
