  • How to Zone Forward to a List of Alternative Name Servers in pfSense 2.0.1

    I'm not sure if dnsmasq is involved in this process on pfSense or not. Before pfsense, we'd do this in BIND thusly: zone "firstpartner.com" { type forward; forwarders { 1.2.3.4; 5.6.7.8; w.x.y.z; }; I'm intentionally over-explaining this in the interests of specificity: We currently use dnsmasq to direct local queries for our primarydomain.com. Anything that doesn't match a host override entry in pfSense gets passed off to our external name servers, as defined elsewhere in pfSense. There are certain other zones which are not publicly accessible, let's call them firstpartner.com and secondpartner.com that each have various subdomains that their own name servers handle. I need a way to define a list of name server IPs for each domain zone (see BIND example above). Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    We have our svn server on a machine not accessible from the internet. But we need to be able to check out code from the internet over ssh. Given that we can do port forwarding on a machine accessible from the internet, whats the best way to set this up? Internet -> A machine on our network - > svn server (Port forward here? ) If not port forwarding, whats the most secure way of doing this, if there is any?

  • Forward nginx to Apache Tomcat

    I'm totally new to nginx. I want to forward two subdomains to the two applications in my apache tomcat server. As I searched over internet, I found that rewrite does the forwarding but I cannot see forwarding. Here is my server configuration server { listen 80; server_name subdomain1.domain.com; rewrite ^ http://tomcat.ip:8080/app1$request_uri? permanent; } server { listen 80; server_name subdomain2.domain.com; rewrite ^ http://tomcat.ip:8080/app2$request_uri? permanent; } Whenever I invoke subdomain1.domain.com or subdomain2.domain.com, I'm redirected to the main page of nginx which states that nginx is successfully installed and further configuration is needed. So, How can I do the forwarding?

  • mod_proxy failing as forward proxy in simple configuration

    (On Mac OS X 10.6, Apache 2.2.11) Following the oft-repeated googled advice, I've set up mod_proxy on my Mac to act as a forward proxy for http requests. My httpd.conf contains this: <IfModule mod_proxy> ProxyRequests On ProxyVia On <Proxy *> Allow from all </Proxy> (Yes, I realize that's not ideal, but I'm behind a firewall trying to figure out why the thing doesn't work at all) So, when I point my browser's proxy settings to the local server (ip_address:80), here's what happens: I browse to http://www.cnn.com I see via sniffer that this is sent to Apache on the Mac Apache responds with its default home page ("It works!" is all this page says) So... Apache is not doing as expected -- it is not forwarding my browser's request out onto the Internet to cnn. Nothing in the logfile indicates an error or problem, and Apache returns a 200 header to the browser. Clearly there is some very basic configuration step I'm not understanding... but what?

    We have 2 servers. One is old server and another is the new one. Currently we about doing a migration because the old server is not capable enough to handle everyday requests. The specs are: Old server Ubuntu 10.04 Nginx as Reverse Proxy Apache WSGI Python/Django New Server Ubuntu 10.04 Nginx Gunicorn Python/Django Celery+Redis Our manager asked us to research if the old server can perform multiple forwarding to all incoming request, for example, set Nginx of old server to forward all request to both old and new server. The purpose is to perform unit testing to new server using old server as comparer, see if the new server is ready to take over the role. Please help, if there is an idea, or must install some engine, or what we do is impossible. Many thanks.

    I am new to iptables and I have been doing Google searches for a few days now without finding a good solution to this problem. I have computer A with a public ip address (say 192.0.2.1) that can access the Internet unrestricted. I have another computer B with a private ip address (192.168.1.1) that can only access computer A. How do I use iptables to forward network traffic from B through A to the Internet? I need to use http, ftp, and https in order to use apt-get with sudo. Both computers run Ubuntu linux. I have tried using Squid but I think it is far too complicated for what I need to do.

  • SQL Server backward compatibility in Entity Framework?

    Is there any backward compatibility in the entity framework between SQL Server 2008 and 2005? It seems the framework forces you to use the same provider for all the .edmx files in a solution. If you use the 2008 provider, data types like DateTime2 and functions like SysDateTime that are emitted by the framework to the underlying SQL query make it useless to use them against a SQL 2005 Server. Any way around this?

    Hello. I've got a really difficult bug and I can't see the fix. The subject drives me insane for real for a long time. Let's consider the following scenario: 1) There is a PowerPoint 2003 presentation. It contains the only slide and the only shape, but the shape contains a text frame including a bulleted list with a random textual representation structure. 2) There is a requirement to get bullet indents for every bulletted paragraph using PowerPoint 2007. I can satisfy the requirement opening the presentation in the compatibility mode and applying the following VBA script: With ActivePresentation Dim sl As Slide: Set sl = .Slides(1) Dim sh As Shape: Set sh = sl.Shapes(1) Dim i As Integer For i = 1 To sh.TextFrame.TextRange.Paragraphs.Count Dim para As TextRange: Set para = sh.TextFrame.TextRange.Paragraphs(i, 1) Debug.Print para.Text; para.indentLevel, sh.TextFrame.Ruler.Levels(para.indentLevel).FirstMargin Next i End With that produces the following output: A 1 0 B 1 0 C 2 24 D 3 60 E 5 132 Obviously, everything is perfect indeed: it has shown the proper list item text, list item level and its bullet indent. But I can't see the way of how I can reach the same result using C#. They are always zero in the compatibility mode... It's hard to believe it... :) So is there any way to fix it or just to find a workaround? I'd like to accept any help regarding to the solution of the subject. I can't even find any article related to the issue. :( Probably you have ever been face to face with it...   • Compatibility between Qt and Boost sockets libraries

    Hello In my work, I'm developing a Viewer client for a Offshore simulation server, using sockets to send the simulation data from the Simulator to de Viewer. But, the server uses Boost.asio as it's sockets library. As the client uses Qt for it's GUI, I was wondering if there is any problem in using de Qt Networking library for handling the sockets.     We've noticed a compatibility issue with a Silverlight 3 app which runs fine with v3.0.40818, v3.0.50106 and v4.0.50401 but refuses to load in v3.0.40624. Instead it gives a message box saying a more recent version of Silverlight is required. Does anyone know what the changes were between 3.0.40624 and 3.0.40818 or why the app might not be compatible?
