  • How to set up a VPN Incoming connection with Windows to tunnel Internet traffic?

    I want to set up a VPN on a remote server to route all my Internet traffic for privacy reasons. I can set up an incoming connection and connect to it successfully. The problem is, I can just see the remote computer and no other Web sites will open. I want the remote server to act like a NAT. How can I do that? Note that I don't want to split Internet traffic. I actually want to send all the traffic to the remote server but need to make it relay the traffic. For the record, my remote server is Windows Web Server 2008 which does not have routing and remote access service. Clarification I'm mostly interested in server configuration. I don't have any problems configuring the client. By the way, Windows Web Server 2008 seems to have the same VPN features built in client OSes (like Vista) and specifically, it doesn't include the RRAS console in MMC. I'm also open to suggestions regarding third party PPTP/L2TP daemons available, if they are free.

  • Routing / binding 128 IPs to one server

    I have a Ubuntu server with 128 ip's (static external ips 86.xx.xx.16), and I want to crawl pages thru different ip's. The gateway is xx.xxx.xxx.1, the main ip is xx.xxx.xxx.16, and the other 128 ip's are xx.xxx.xxx.129/255. I tried this configuration in /etc/network/interfaces but I doesn't work. It work if I remove the gateway for the aliases eth0:0 and eth0:1. But when I try to bind a socket connection in php to a specific ip I get no answer. socket_bind($sock, "xx.xxx.xx.xxx"); socket_connect($sock, 'google.com', 80); I tryed to use a sniffer to see the packets, and I see the packet sent from binded ip to google.com but the "connection" can't be established. I don't know anything about "route" command, but I have a feeling that this is the solution.

  • Server not resolving after restart

    I restarted our server today, and now cannot for the life of me get anything to resolve... I suspect it has something to do with our routes. I've tried numerous Google results to no avail.     I'm having some problems with routing with the following: I have a server with 2 interfaces. It has 1-1 alias contains the same subnet. the 2 interface is connected to 2 switch, which are separated from each other. Infrastructure: Eth0 192.168.16.2/20 Eth0:eth0 192.168.1.222/20 Eth1 192.168.32.3/20 Eth1:eth1 192.168.1.223/20 I have a PC which has the IP address: 192.168.1.3/24 The problem is the next: If PC is on subnet 1, I can ping it. If PC is on subnet 2, I can't ping it. traceroute shows the route is across 192.168.1.222 ping -I 192.168.1.223 192.168.1.3 is not working on subnet 2. arp entries show the MAC address belonging to the correct interface (eth1 on subnet 2) How can I force the server to look on both interface same ranged subnet for specific IP? It searches only in the first subnet.     I am having trouble configuring my NAS. I have a DSL router with WIFI (192.168.1.1) in my flatmates room. In my room I have a server with two NICS: 1) wlan0 (192.168.1.2) that connects to the DSL router via wireless 2) em1 (192.168.0.1) that connects to the NAS (192.168.0.20) with a crossover cable. I have Fedora 17 and I have enable packet forwarding. For completeness, it is possible to recreate the scenario very easily: Create a new MVC web app. Run it up. Visit the About tab Modify the URL to read /Home/About/Flib - This obviously takes you to the action with an id of 'Flib' which we don't care about. Notice that the top menu link to About now actually links to /Home/About/Flib - this is wrong as far as I can see, as I now have absolutely no way of using site links to get back to /Home/About I really don't understand why I should be forced to modify all of my Html.ActionLinks to include new { id = string.Empty } for the routevalues and null for the htmlAttribs. This seems especially out of whack because I already specify id = 0 as part of the route itself. Hopefully I'm missing a trick here.

    Hello, I want to draw a route between 2 locations on the map.. something as a tour guide.When the tourist clicks another location i want to be able to draw the route as well as inform the distance from current location. I am aware of sites on the internet which tell how to draw polylines on map. But,one such example had a preloaded .csv file with various coordinates. Is there an alternate way to get the coordinates..as the location is selected dynamically.If no, how do i get the information for intermediate coordinates?     Is it possible to place buttons at an X,Y position over the top of a Canvas? For example, on the opening screen of my game, I would like to place buttons for "Play Now", "Instructions", etc, right on top of the canvas. Right now, I'm looking at Touch locations on the Canvas and comparing them to various X,Y bounds. It works, but adding a button with a click listener would probably be much more efficient.

  • GPO Software Uninstall Not Taking Place

    I am having some trouble with my software GPO's and can't seem to find any answers using Google. I successfully deployed software using my policy but when I delete another, the uninstallation of the software does not take place. What I did: Deployed software using a GPO, used gpupdate /force on the workstation to update, reboot, and install the software Deleted another software installation by: Right-Click All Tasks Remove 'Immediately uninstall the software from users and computers' From there, I did another gpupdate /force to try and get the GPO to refresh and uninstall the software on the workstation. This did not work. I then forced replication between my domain controllers and ran another gpupdate /force on the workstation and this did not uninstall the software. There are not error logs or indications that the uninstall is being triggered when I go into the event viewer, and I know for a fact that the policy is working in other aspects. So my questions is: Where do I look next to find the answer as to why GPO software deployments are working but un-installations are not, based off of what I have already tried? Thank you in advance. UPDATE: After using gpresult /z, there is no indication of a pending un-installation or removal of software. Under the section entitled "Software Installations", the software I am trying to uninstall is not listed. There is no other indication that the software I am trying to uninstall even exists. I also turned on RSoP logging and did (yet another) gpupdate /force to yield no blatant results. There is no indication that an uninstall event was even triggered, let alone incapability or failure. Although I am sure I marked it to uninstall in case of two events (the falling out of the scope of management, as well as the removal of the entry), I am beginning to think the entry just never triggered something that should have been triggered. UPDATE #2: After troubleshooting this (frustrating) application assignment, I have chalked it up as a fluke. I have tested with other software to make sure that the uninstall of other application assignments is actually working, so I am assuming it is something related to the package directly. There is the possibility that my problem resides in something related to what @joeqwerty linked in a comment below but because I can't go back in time, I don't think I will be able to prove it. I will probably be running a script via another GPO to guarantee the un-installation of left over package installs. For now, Evan Anderson is getting the answer because of the debugging information I was able to put to good use. Thank you to everyone that helped contribute so far!

    For a new CMS i've developed a Pages module that allows me to manage the site's tree structure. Each page is reachable from the url http://www.example.com/pageslug/ where pageslug identifies the page being called. What I want to achieve now is a route that allows me to route all incoming requests to a single PagesController unless it's a request to an existing controller (like images for example). It's easy enough to catch all requests to the Pages Controller but how to exclude existing controllers? This is my module bootstrap.     I've got a big old log file I'm trying to break down in terms of routes. Essentially, I'm getting input of a path (/questions/31415 for example) and a list of all the registered Routes. What I want out is a Route and the parameters specified in the route (so in, /questions/{id}/{answer} I'd get id and answers out). I've got a working solution that basically generates a nasty bit of regex on the fly with named groups to do matching and parsing all-in-one. My gut tells me this is a brittle way to do it, and frankly there has to be a better way, right?

  • Multiple TinyMCE editors, but only one toolbar?

    Hello there. I've looked around the forum, but cannot seem to find a definite answer to this problem... I'm using jQuery and TinyMCE on our website. I've gone through the docs of TinyMCE, but am still getting lost I'm afraid. We're doing an interface that requires edit-in-place in multiple places in the page. The only thing is, each of these will have all the editing choices from TinyMCE in one toolbar at the top. So, to recap it, it's multiple editors (that each have no toolbars of their own, just a place to edit or select the text) and only one toolbar at the top of the page to control whichever textbox is active at the time. How could this be achieved? Is it even possible? Any help, any push in the right direction, any hints/tips/knowledge at all on this problem would be a great, great help. Thanks, James

  • Cisco PIX 515 doesn't seem to be passing traffic through according to static route

    Ok, so I am having a spot of bother with a Cisco PIX515, I have posted the current running config below, now I am no cisco expert by any means although I can do basic stuff with them, now I am having trouble with traffic sent from the outside to address: 10.75.32.25 it just doesn't appear to be going anywhere. Now this firewall is deep inside a private network, with an upstream firewall that we don't manage. I have spoken to the people that look after that firewall and they say they they have traffic routing to 10.75.32.21 and 10.75.32.25 and thats it (although there is a website that runs from the server 172.16.102.5 which (if my understanding is correct) gets traffic via 10.75.32.23. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as to me it should all just work, but its not (obviously if the config is all correct then there could be a problem with the web server that we are trying to   • How to automate the finding of an M value along a route

    Kirk Kuykendall had given a script example a few years back in an ESRI forum http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=93&f=996&t=88246&mc=4 as to how to find the M (measure) value of a point in a shapefile along a route when you clicked on the point. This is very handy, BUT..I have 1500 points that I need M values for. Is there a way to automate this type of thing? I need the M values for the points to create linear events on the route. Note: I am not a programmer, but have people who can help me out.

    For the jQuery extension Jeditable, one of the parameters that can be specified is which DOM event will turn a div/span/... into a text input/textarea/... I would like to have more than one event serve as a trigger; that is, I would like either a click event or a contextmenu event to turn a span into an in-place edit area. Is there a graceful way to do this without forking Jeditable? --edit-- An example of code specifying the event is below. The parameter is optional, defaulting to a regular click. $(".edit_rightclick").editable("/ajax/save", { cancel: "Cancel", submit: "OK", tooltip: "Right click to edit.", event: "contextmenu", }); Calling twice, once for the regular click event with the event unspecified, and one for the contextmenu event (right-click if there are no switched mouse buttons or anything like that) does not seem to produce the intended effect of an element becoming editable in place on a click from either mouse button.
