  • ASP.NET Template Selector/Builder - Dynamic CMS

    - by Ugene
    I am currently building my own CMS for various reasons that could take a long to explain... However i am looking for a dynamic solution to create templates for pages within the CMS and all areas must be editable via the administration area, maybe large text areas broken into multiple areas, text and image area on a page etc. Following on from the above i would like to create the following: Create a new page (selecting a pre-defined template like below) http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9872/nestedpages.png and then upon editing the page it would have created as many text editors required for each editable region or a file upload control for an image area for example. i am thinking of using nested masterpages for the design elements, just unsure the best-practice way to achieve the above (db structure etc) I somehow hope this provides enough information but are happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks

  • focusout not triggering when clicking on another selector with a click

    - by Sean
    I have 2 divs that each have clicks bound to them. when you click on a div a form is displayed (in another div) that allows you to set properties specific to the div that is clicked. I'm using focusout to save the properties to a data object. everything is working perfectly except when i click on the other div. it seems that the click handler on the other div cancels out the focusout of the form field. Has anyone else experienced this? is so what is the proper way to overcome this?

  • jQuery .val() Selector Confusion

    - by Matt Dawdy
    I've kind of written myself into a corner, and was hoping there was an "easy" way out. I'm trying to loop through a series of things on my page, and build a key:value pair. Here is my structure: <div class="divMapTab" id="divMapTab34"> <div class="divFieldMap"> <select class="selSrc" id="selTargetnamex"><options....></select> </div> </div> <div class="divMapTab" id="divMapTab87"> <div class="divFieldMap"> <select class="selSrc" id="selTargetnamex"><options....></select> </div> </div> It's way more complicated than that, and there are many select elements inside of each divFieldMap div. Here is my JS function that is building my string: function Save() { var sSaveString = ''; $('.divMapTab').each(function() { var thisId = this.id; $('.selSrc', "#" + thisId).each(function() { var thisSubId = this.id; //alert(thisSubId); <-- HERE IS THE PROBLEM var sTargetCol = thisSubId.replace('selTarget', ''); var sValue = this.val(); sSaveString += sTargetCol + '¸' + sValue + '·'; }); }); } On the line that has the alert box and the text "HERE IS THE PROBLEM" is that I'm trying to get the selected value of the "current" select input element, but the id of that element isn't unique (I thought it would be, but I screwed up). Is there a good way, inside of an "each" type of jQuery statement, to use "this" to get the exact select element that I really am looking for, even if it doesn't have a unique id?

  • JQuery selector: pass on id from array into function

    - by user347256
    I have a list of items <div id="item1">somestuff</div> <div id="item2">somestuff</div> <div id="item3">somestuff</div> When someone clicks on one of these, I need to take some actions based on the id (the number). Let's say hide it. How can I make the function generic, and how can I pass the id into the function? $(document).ready(function() { $("#item-howcanImakethisselectorgeneric?").click(function () { $("#item-andhowcanIpasshteidintohere?").hide(); } } I'm a javascript/jquery newbie, any help (including rtfm) appreciated.

  • jQuery selector depending on children

    - by wiradikusuma
    Hi guys, I have an HTML form consisting of some text-inputs. I'm using jqTransform to prettify them. Now I want to add two buttons that will add and remove text-input dynamically. Adding is easy: $('#container').append(''); $('input[name=foo]:last-child').jqTransInputText(); But removing is tricky: $('WHAT-TO-SELECT').remove(); I can't do "input[name=foo]:last-child" since it's already wrapped (some divs) by jqTransform. To put this question in another way: How do I select based on "who has child of type input with 'foo' as its name"?

  • Creating a page selector with JSP/JSTL

    - by zakSyed
    I am working on a project where I am required to build a page somewhat similar to the one you see when you visit a website like blockbuster. When you click on browse more you are taken to a page with a bar on top with different page numbers and a drop down to select the number of pages you want to view on that page. I want to include a feature like that on my page but I am not sure where to start. In my page I have list of 200 items which I want to display page by page. I was suggested to use custom tags, but is there a more simpler or efficient way to create that functionality. My web application uses Spring MVC framework and is coded entirely in Java. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

  • jQuery filter selector, is this right?

    - by fire
    It seems to work ok but I don't know if this can be impoved on or not. I want to select any HTML tag that has a class of edit-text-NUM or edit-html-NUM and change the color of it. Here is what I am using... jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('*') .filter(function() { return this.className.match(/edit-(text|html)-\d/); }) .css({ 'color': '#ff0000' }); }); Does that look ok and is the regex ok? *edit: Also is this efficient? I am aware that using jQuery('*') might be a bit of a hog if it's a large page. It only has to work from <body> down so maybe it could be changed?

  • Jquery (this) selector help

    - by mtwallet
    Hi. I have the following HTML: <div class="box"><img src="pic.jpg" alt="image" /></div> <div class="box"><img src="pic.jpg" alt="image" /></div> <div class="box"><img src="pic.jpg" alt="image" /></div> <div class="box"><img src="pic.jpg" alt="image" /></div> I am trying to select the div and the child image both at the same time. I need to use $(this) to select the div. I know I can use $(this).children() or $(this).find('img') to get the image. Is there a way to select both the div and image using $(this) for the div.

  • $(selector).text() equivalent in c# (Revised)

    - by Ian Jasper Bardoquillo
    Hi, I am trying check if the inner html of the element is empty but I wanted to do the validation on the server side, I'm treating the html as a string. Here is my code public string HasContent(string htmlString){ // this is the expected value of the htmlString // <span class="spanArea"> // <STYLE>.ExternalClass234B6D3CB6ED46EEB13945B1427AA47{;}</STYLE> // </span> // From this jquery code--------------> // if($('.spanArea').text().length>0){ // // } // <------------------ // I wanted to convert the jquery statement above into c# code. /// c# code goes here return htmlSTring; } using this line $('.spanArea').text() // what is the equivalent of this line in c# I will know if the .spanArea does really have something to display in the ui or not. I wanted to do the checking on the server side. No need to worry about how to I managed to access the DOM I have already taken cared of it. Consider the htmlString as the Html string. My question is if there is any equivalent for this jquery line in C#? Thanks in advance! :)

  • Is there such a concept as "pseudo implementation" in software development?

    - by MachuPichu
    I'm looking for a label to describe the practice of using human-based computation methods or other means of "faking" an algorithm for the sake of getting a product or demo off the ground quickly without spending the time to develop an technical/scalable/analytical solution? Eg: using Amazon Turk to count the number of empty tables in a restaurant. I'm also looking to learn more about this subject, but not sure what to search for. Human-based computation is only one method, I'm interested in the general idea of pseudo-implementation. Any ideas, recommended reading? Thanks

  • jQuery Set Selected Option Using Next

    - by Dodinas
    Hello, How can I, using jQuery, set the "next" item of an already selected item as "selected." For example, if I have: <select> <option value="1" >Number 1</option> <option value="2" selected="selected">Number 2</option> <option value="3" >Number 3</option> <option value="4" >Number 4</option> </select> We can see that "Number 2" is selected, and using jQuery, I'd like to set "Number 3" as selected, and remove the selected "attribute" from "Number 2". I'm assuming I need to use the next selector, but I'm not quite sure how to implement. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • how do I select a div with class "A" but NOT with class "B"?

    - by MedicineMan
    I have some divs: <div class="A">"Target"</div> <div class="A B">"NotMyTarget"</div> <div class="A C">"NotMyTarget"</div> <div class="A D">"NotMyTarget"</div> <div class="A E">"NotMyTarget"</div> Is there a CSS selector that will get me the div containing Target but not the divs containing NotMyTarget? Solution must work on IE7, IE8, Safari, Chrome, and Firefox Edit: So far Nick is the closest. It's clumsy and I don't like the solution, but at least it works: .A { style that all divs will take } div.B { style that will override style .A }

  • Any way to get read timeouts with Java NIO/selectors?

    - by mmebane
    I'm converting a Java server application which used blocking IO and thread-per-client to NIO and a single IO thread (probably a thread pool after I get the basic implementation done). The one thing I am having an issue with is disconnecting clients after they have been idle for a period. I had previously been using SO_TIMEOUT and blocking reads. However, with selector-based IO, reads don't block... I was hoping that I'd be able to set a timeout and be able to select on read timeout, with something like SelectionKey.isReadTimeout(), but nothing like that seems to exist. The current best solution I have come up with is to have a Timer with a TimerTask which keeps track of the keys which are waiting on read, and then canceling them and re-scheduling them on each read. Is there a better solution?

  • JS Framework that doesn't use CSS selectors?

    - by RoToRa
    A thing that I noticed about most JavaScript frameworks is that the most common way to find/access the DOM elements is to use CSS selectors. However this usually requires the framework to include a CSS selector parser, because they need to support selectors, that the browser natively doesn't, foremost the frameworks own proprietary extensions. I would think that these parsers are large and slow. Wouldn't it be more efficient to have something that doesn't require a parser, such a chained method calls? Some like: id("example").children().class("test").hasAttribute("href") instead of $("#example > .test[href]") Are there any frameworks around that do something like this? And how do they compare with jQuery and friends in regard to performance and size? EDIT: You can consider this a theoretical discussion topic. I don't plan to use anything other than jQuery in any practical projects in near furure. I was just wondering why there aren't any other, possibly better approaches.

  • Targeting an iFrame once with jQuery

    - by user275074
    Hi, I have a series of frames (4) which are used in a page to create loading of dynamic content through Ajax calls. In each of these frames I target parent level elements and update them with there respective content e.g. $("#loadingGrid1",top.document).show(); $("#frameSkills",top.document).hide(); In jQuery is there a way to instead of targeting specific elements on the parent page multiple times, simply target the page once into a variable e.g. var parentPage=$('#frameSkills',top.document); And then use this variable to apply content like $(parentPage #loadingGrid1).hide() Hope I've explained what I'm after enough. Basically, I'm having to call "top.document" in every jQuery selector I make and it seems like a waste of energy.

  • Changing the action of a form with javascript/jquery

    - by Micah
    I'm having an issue that is driving me crazy. I'm trying to modify the openid-selector to support facebook. I'm using RPXNow as my provider so it requires the form to be submitted to a different url than the standard. For example. RpxNow requires me to setup my form like this: <form action="https://wikipediamaze.rpxnow.com/openid/start?token_url=..."> This works for every provider except for facebook and myspace. Those require the form to be posted to a different url like this: <form action="https://wikipediamaze.rpxnow.com/facebook/start?token_url=..."> and <form action="https://wikipediamaze.rpxnow.com/myspace/start?token_url=..."> The open id selector has a bunch of buttons on the form each representing the openid providers. What I'm trying to do is detect when the facebook or myspace button is clicked and changed the action on the form before submitting. However it's not working. Here is my code. I've tried several variations all with the same "not supported" exception $("#openid_form").attr("action", form_url) document.forms[0].action = form_url Any suggestions? Update Here are more details on the code. I've ommitted some for brevity. The only thing i've done is added the facebook section to the "providers_large" object (which successfully adds the logo to the website), and instead of supply a url identifying the user, I'm creating a property called "form_url" which is what I want to set the action of my form to. If you look at the section title "Provider image click" you'll see where I'm checking for the presence of the property "form_url" and using jquery to change the action and submit the form. However when I step through the javascript in debug mode it tells me it's an ivalid operation. var providers_large = { google: { name: 'Google', url: 'https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id' }, facebook: { name: 'Facebook', form_url: 'http://wikipediamaze.rpxnow.com/facebook/start?token_url=http://www.wikipediamaze.com/Accounts/Logon' }, }; var providers_small = { myopenid: { name: 'MyOpenID', label: 'Enter your MyOpenID username.', url: 'http://{username}.myopenid.com/' }, livejournal: { name: 'LiveJournal', label: 'Enter your Livejournal username.', url: 'http://{username}.livejournal.com/' }, flickr: { name: 'Flickr', label: 'Enter your Flickr username.', url: 'http://flickr.com/{username}/' }, technorati: { name: 'Technorati', label: 'Enter your Technorati username.', url: 'http://technorati.com/people/technorati/{username}/' }, wordpress: { name: 'Wordpress', label: 'Enter your Wordpress.com username.', url: 'http://{username}.wordpress.com/' }, blogger: { name: 'Blogger', label: 'Your Blogger account', url: 'http://{username}.blogspot.com/' }, verisign: { name: 'Verisign', label: 'Your Verisign username', url: 'http://{username}.pip.verisignlabs.com/' }, vidoop: { name: 'Vidoop', label: 'Your Vidoop username', url: 'http://{username}.myvidoop.com/' }, verisign: { name: 'Verisign', label: 'Your Verisign username', url: 'http://{username}.pip.verisignlabs.com/' }, claimid: { name: 'ClaimID', label: 'Your ClaimID username', url: 'http://claimid.com/{username}' } }; var providers = $.extend({}, providers_large, providers_small); var openid = { cookie_expires: 6*30, // 6 months. cookie_name: 'openid_provider', cookie_path: '/', img_path: 'images/', input_id: null, provider_url: null, init: function(input_id) { var openid_btns = $('#openid_btns'); this.input_id = input_id; $('#openid_choice').show(); $('#openid_input_area').empty(); // add box for each provider for (id in providers_large) { openid_btns.append(this.getBoxHTML(providers_large[id], 'large', '.gif')); } if (providers_small) { openid_btns.append('<br/>'); for (id in providers_small) { openid_btns.append(this.getBoxHTML(providers_small[id], 'small', '.ico')); } } $('#openid_form').submit(this.submit); var box_id = this.readCookie(); if (box_id) { this.signin(box_id, true); } }, getBoxHTML: function(provider, box_size, image_ext) { var box_id = provider["name"].toLowerCase(); return '<a title="'+provider["name"]+'" href="javascript: openid.signin(\''+ box_id +'\');"' + ' style="background: #FFF url(' + this.img_path + box_id + image_ext+') no-repeat center center" ' + 'class="' + box_id + ' openid_' + box_size + '_btn"></a>'; }, /* Provider image click */ signin: function(box_id, onload) { var provider = providers[box_id]; if (! provider) { return; } this.highlight(box_id); this.setCookie(box_id); // prompt user for input? • android costumized button problem with changing text color

    - by alaxid
    Hi, I made a button that changes the background drawable on different states, this way: <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <item android:state_pressed="true" android:drawable="@drawable/btn_location_pressed" /> <!-- pressed --> <item android:state_focused="true" android:drawable="@drawable/btn_location_pressed"/> <!-- focused --> <item android:drawable="@drawable/btn_location"/> <!-- default --> The problem here is that I'm also trying to change the textColor as I do with the drawable but I'm not being able to. I already tried android:textColor and android:color but the first doesn't work whilst the seconds changes my background. The next code is part of my layout. Regarding to the text color it only works for the normal state text color, thus not changing it to the white one while pressed <Button android:id="@+id/location_name" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:paddingTop="5dp" android:background="@drawable/location" android:textSize="15sp" android:textColor="@color/location_color" android:textColorHighlight="#FFFFFF" /> As anybody got a clue? ty! :)
