• Problem with animating the deletion of table rows in jQuery

  Hey guys, I have written some jQuery code to use the "slideUp" animation when deleting rows from a table. In order for the animation to appear smooth, I wrapped the contents of each TD in the row with DIV tags, and called the slideUp function on the DIVs, removing the actual TDs upon completion of the animation. The code for that is as follows: $("tr[id$=" + rowID + "]").children("td").each(function() { $(this).children("div").slideUp(function() { $(this).parent().remove(); }); }); So far, so good. However, I noticed that this code does not remove the actual TR, only its contents, so I added the following line to remove the TR: $("tr[id$=" + rowID + "]").remove(); The problem is that after I added the line above, the animation quit working. In other words, the row simply disappears without the nice sliding effect. Does anybody know why this is so and how to get around it? Thanks in advance for your insights! Victor

BTW, I've tried various combinations of table-layout:fixed and using colgroup with cols and all sorts, nothing I've tried convinces IE to what I'm clearly asking it to explicitly do? If I had any hair before starting this I wouldn't have any left by now.

  Is it possible to change the font color for a row based on a value in one of the columns? My table has a column that displays a status. The value of the column is going to either be Failed or Success. If it is Success I would like for that rows font be green. If the status equals Failed, I want that rows font be red. Is this possible, if so where would I put the logic. • iPhone: Grouped tables and navigation controller issues

  Hi there, I've set up a grouped table on my app, and pushing to new views works fine. Except for one thing. The titles and stack layout are all weird. Here's the breakdown: I have two sections in my table. When I tap on the first row in the first section, it takes me to the correct view, but the title of the new view is the name of the first row in the second section of the table. In turn, the second row in the first section's title is the second row in the second section's title. If I tap on the second row in the second section of the root view table, the navigation button goes to the second row in the first section of the table. So here's a diagram of my table: Table Section 1 Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 Table Section 2 Row A Row B Row C So if I tap on row 3, the title of the pushed view is Row C. The navigation button tells me to go back to Row 3, then eventually ending up at the root view. • Cursor returns zero rows from query to table

  I've created an SQLiteDatabase in my app and populated it with some data. I can connect to my AVD with a terminal and when I issue select * from articles; I get a list of all the rows in my table and everything looks fine. However, in my code when I query my table, I get a cursor back that has my tables columns, but zero rows of data.   I have a student and faculty table. The primary key for student is studendID (SID) and faculty's primary key is facultyID, naturally. Student has an advisor column and a requested advisor column, which are foreign key to faculty. That's simple enough, right? However, now I have to throw in dates. I want to be able to view who their advisor was for a certain quarter (such as 2009 Winter) and who they had requested. The result will be a table like this: Year | Term | SID | Current | Requested ------------------------------------------------ 2009 | Winter | 860123456 | 1 | NULL 2009 | Winter | 860445566 | 3 | NULL 2009 | Winter | 860369147 | 5 | 1 And then if I feel like it, I could also go ahead and view a different year and a different term. I am not sure how these new table(s) will look like. Will there be a year table with three columns that are Fall, Spring and Winter? And what will the Fall, Spring, Winter table have? I am new to the art of tables, so this is baffling me... Also, I feel I should clarify how the site works so far now. Admin can approve student requests, and what happens is that the student's current advisor gets overwritten with their request. However, I think I should not do that anymore, right?

  Hi, i have a input type=text in a table (in a TD actually) When a user clicks a checkbox, the input is hidden with Jquery (via the hide method) This makes the style of the input to "display:none;" So far so good. Now, when that has happened, the row where the cell is in is shrunk (the height is lowered) because the only thing left in the row is a <span>, which height is lower than the input height. The net result of this is that the row gets smaller, and when you click the checkbox again the input re-appers and the row gets larger. That doesn't look so nice, so i wondered if there was a way to prevent this? And second: is this the way it should work (the table resizing)?

  I'm trying to create a table adhering to the following requirements: The table width must be defined as 0 - the browser should calculate the width according to the column widths (this is to accommodate a column-resize plugin). Some columns may receive a fixed width (e.g. 50px); Columns that do not receive a fixed width, must auto-fit to the content. I have created a small example to illustrate the problem - as you can see column 3 stays at width 0 and so is not visible. • BIRT PDF report : fixed table heigth?

  Hi, I am trying to display a table to display of products (rows) in a single A4 fixed layout page. I manage to add a table with header/detail/footer sections but I can not set a minimum heigth for the detail section (150mm for example). If I set a 150mm heigth on the detail row, then Each row will have that 150mm heigth. Whereas I would like, each row to have a minimal heith (could be on several line if the content of some columns is wrapped). +---------+--------+--------------+ Tbl Hdr | col1 | col2 | col3 | +---------+--------+--------------+ Tbl Dtl | [val1] | [val2] | [val3] | +---------+--------+--------------+ | | <-should have a variable heigth +---------+--------+--------------+ Tbl Ftr | | | Total | +---------+--------+--------------+ If a set not heigth on the detail row then the footer comes, right beneath the detail rows, instead of sticking at the bottom of the page :-( I hope this makes sense (if not I could provide more details). • Striped table rows in ASP.NET MVC (without using jQuery or equivalent)

  When using an ASP.NET WebForms ListView control to display data in an HTML table I use the following technique in to "stripe" the table rows: <ItemTemplate> <tr class="<%# Container.DisplayIndex % 2 == 0 ? "" : "alternate" %>"> <!-- table cells in here --> </tr> </ItemTemplate> With the following CSS: tr.alternate { background-color: #EFF5FB; } I have just gone through the ASP.NET MVC Movie Database Application tutorial and learnt that in MVC-land table rows can be (must be?) constructed as follows: <% foreach (var item in Model) { %> <tr> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.Title) %> </td> <!-- and so on for the rest of the table cells... --> </tr> <% } %> What can I add to this code to stripe the rows of my table? Note: I know that this can be done using jQuery, I want to know if it can be done another way. Edit If jQuery (or equivalent) is in your opinion the best or most appropriate post, I'd be interested in knowing why.

  I need help please with writing a sproc, it takes a table-valued parameter @Locations, whose Type is defined as follows: CREATE TYPE [dbo].[tvpLocation] AS TABLE( [CountryId] [int] NULL, [ResortName] [nvarchar](100) NULL, [Ordinal] [int] NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [Ordinal] ASC )WITH (IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF) ) @Locations will contain at least 1 row. Each row WILL have a non-null CountryId, and MAY have a non-null ResortName. Each row will have a unique Ordinal, the first being 0. The combinations of CountryId and ResortName in @Locations will be unique. The sproc needs to search against the following table structure. The image can be seen better by right-clicking it and View Image, or similar depending on your browser. Now this is where I'm stuck, the sproc should be able to find Tours where: The Tour's 1st TourHotel (Ordinal 0) has the same CountryId (and ResortName if specified) of the 1st row of @Locations (Ordinal 0). And also if @Locations has 1 row, the Tour must have additional TourHotels, ALL of which must be in the remaining CountryIds (and ResortNames if specified) of these remaining @Locations rows.
