Personally I love IE for many reasons such as ease of use and stability.  I am cranked up to see what IE 9 does as it was retooled from the start. So this one should be big. Also, its bringing HTML 5 support now so we can have much richer applications. Its about time that HTML was revved to move from the old text like stuff to a better model. • AppHarbor - Azure Done Right AKA Heroku for .NET

  Easy and Instant deployments and instant scale for .NET? Awhile back a few of us were looking at Ruby Gems as the answer to package management for .NET. The gems platform supported the concept of DLLs as packages although some changes would have needed to happen to have long term use for the entire community. From that we formed a partnership with some folks at Microsoft to make v2 into something that would meet wider adoption across the community, which people now call NuGet. So now we have the concept of package management. What comes next? Heroku Instant deployments and instant scaling. Stupid simple API. This is Heroku. It doesn’t sound like much, but when you think of how fast you can go from an idea to having someone else tinker with it, you can start to see its power. In literally seconds you can be looking at your rails application deployed and online. Then when you are ready to scale, you can do that. This is power. Some may call this “cloud-computing” or PaaS (Platform as a Service). I first ran into Heroku back in July when I met Nick of RubyGems.org. At the time there was no alternative in the .NET-o-sphere. I don’t count Windows Azure, mostly because it is not simple and I don’t believe there is a free version. Heroku itself would not lend itself well to .NET due to the nature of platforms and each language’s specific needs (solution stack).  So I tucked the idea in the back of my head and moved on. AppHarbor Enters The Scene I’m not sure when I first heard about AppHarbor as a possible .NET version of Heroku. It may have been in November, but I didn’t actually try it until January. I was instantly hooked. AppHarbor is awesome! It still has a ways to go to be considered Heroku for .NET, but it already has a growing community. I created a video series (at the bottom of this post) that really highlights how fast you can get a product onto the web and really shows the power and simplicity of AppHarbor. Deploying is as simple as a git/hg push to appharbor. From there they build your code, run any unit tests you have and deploy it if everything succeeds. The screen on the right shows a simple and elegant UI to getting things done. The folks at AppHarbor graciously gave me a limited number of invites to hand out.   I have to create a graphical representation for staff salary. The staff is getting their salaries per day and I have there information in below format. This is one month data i.e. 1st March to 31st March <DATE>,<NAME1>,<NAME2>,<NAME3>......<NAME N> YYYY-MM-DD,name1,name2,Name3,.......name4 . . so on.. 1) Is rrdtool a better solution to create graphs and find AVERAGE, MAX, MIN. 2) If yes, How can I use above CSV file to create RRD. 3) If no, what else I can use this to automate the graphical information on my website. Any suggestion in Perl would be really appreciated.

  How can I add the suffix on the day number of a unix date? I'll explain. I have a TextMate bundle snippit that writes out today's date. It uses unix date and formatting. Here is the code: `date +%A` `date +%d` `date +%B` `date +%Y` It outputs: Monday 22 March 2010 I would like to add the suffix to the day (st, nd, rd and th) like so: Monday 22nd March 2010 As far as I can see, there is no native function in the unix date formatting, like there is in PHP (j). How would I achieve this in unix? A complicated regex on the day number?

  Is is possible to select a datetime field from a MySQL table and group by the date only? I'm trying to output a list of events that happen at multiple times, grouped by the date it happened on. My table/data looks like this: (the timestamp is a datetime field) 1. 2010-03-21 18:00:00 Event1 2. 2010-03-21 18:30:00 Event2 3. 2010-03-30 13:00:00 Event3 4. 2010-03-30 14:00:00 Event4 I want to output something like this: March 21st 1800 - Event 1 1830 - Event 2 March 30th 1300 - Event 3 1400 - Event 4 Thanks!

  Hi, I am working on Joomla 1.5 and our site is using the Bluehost server.Till March 9th, 2010 our site was working perfectly.And on March 10th,2010 , the following error was shown in the site as Warning: Unexpected character in input: '' (ASCII=28) state=1 in /home1/tcscoinc/public_html/tcsrnd/administrator/components/com_jaclplus/jac lplus.class.php on line 73 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home1/tcscoinc/public_html/tcsrnd/administrator/components/com_jaclplus/jac lplus.class.php on line 73 For time being, i have just renamed the file jaclplus.class.php to make the site to function. As we are using Jaclplus component and we have purchased the Jaclplus component from Byos Tech , i have checked in the membership details.And we found that our Membership has been expired on 03/10/2010 . I have asked them but they had replied that it may not be a problem on membership. Please anyone share what can be the reason for the error.I am not able to open that file(jaclplus.class.php) since its a binary file.

  Im trying to order results ASCENDING from the current date this is what im using now; SELECT * FROM friends JOIN bdays ON bdays.user = friends.friendname WHERE username = $userid ORDER BY DATE_FORMAT(date, '%m %d') any ideas? example ordering by date now, sorts the birthdays starting at january what i need, is instead of starting the list at january, is starting it from the current date. So, instead of; January February March April May June July August September November December It will order them like this; April (current month/day) May June July August September November December January February March April (all the way up to yesterday)

  Suppose you have a messaging system built in PHP with a MySQL database backend, and you would like to support searching for messages using arbitrary date strings. The database includes a messages table, with a 'date_created' field represented as a datetime. Examples of the arbitrary date strings that would be accepted by the user should mirror those accepted by strtotime. For the following examples, searches performed on March 21, 2010: "January 26, 2009" would return all messages between 2009-01-26 00:00:00 and 2009-01-27 00:00:00 "March 8" would return all messages between 2010-03-08 00:00:00 and 2010-01-26 00:00:00 "Last week" would return all messages between 2010-03-14 00:00:00 and 2010-03-21 018:25:00 "2008" would return all messages between 2008-01-01 00:00:00 and 2008-12-31 00:00:00 I began working with date_parse, but the number of variables grew quickly. • How to get logical parts of a sentence with java?

  Hello. Let's say there is a sentence: On March 1, he was born. Changing it to He was born on March 1. doesn't break the sense of the sentence and it is still valid. Shuffling words in any other way would produce weird to invalid sentences. So basically, I'm talking about parts of the sentence, which make the information more specific, but removing them doesn't break the whole sentence. Is there any NLP library in which identifying such parts is available?

• Python: Taking an array and break it into subarrays based on some criteria

  I have an array of files. I'd like to be able to break that array down into one array with multiple subarrays, each subarray contains files that were created on the same day. So right now if the array contains files from March 1 - March 31, I'd like to have an array with 31 subarrays (assuming there is at least 1 file for each day). In the long run, I'm trying to find the file from each day with the latest creation/modification time. If there is a way to bundle that into the iterations that are required above to save some CPU cycles, that would be even more ideal. Then I'd have one flat array with 31 files, one for each day, for the latest file created on each individual day.
