    Hi, I;ve been trying to create a custom button in android using this tutorial - http://www.gersic.com/blog.php?id=56 It works well but it doesn't say how to change the font size or weighting. Any ideas? There was another question on here and the only answer was to use html styling but you can't change a font size in html without using css (or the deprecated font tag). There must be a better way of setting the pixel size of the font used on buttons?

  • ORM vs SQL XML, very simple middle-tier

    I know it is rather heated question. But anyway I'd like to hear opinions of those in Stackoverflow. Given that XML support is quite good in SQL Server 2005/2008, and there's no concern about database independency, why one need Linq-to-SQL, Entity Framework, NHibernate and the likes, which are quite complex and awkward in advanced use-cases, if by using POCOs, XmlSerializer, and stored procedures which process XML, one can achieve a lot less complex middle-tier?   • What is the most elegant way to implement a business rule relating to a child collection in LINQ?

    I have two tables in my database: Wiki WikiId ... WikiUser WikiUserId (PK) WikiId UserId IsOwner ... These tables have a one (Wiki) to Many (WikiUser) relationship. How would I implement the following business rule in my LINQ entity classes: "A Wiki must have exactly one owner?" I've tried updating the tables as follows: Wiki WikiId (PK) OwnerId (FK to WikiUser) ... WikiUser WikiUserId (PK) WikiId UserId ... This enforces the constraint, but if I remove the owner's WikiUser record from the Wiki's WikiUser collection, I recieve an ugly SqlException. This seems like it would be difficult to catch and handle in the UI. Is there a way to perform this check before the SqlException is generated? A better way to structure my database? A way to catch and translate the SqlException to something more useful? Edit: I would prefer to keep the validation rules within the LINQ entity classes if possible. Edit 2: Some more details about my specific situation. In my application, the user should be able to remove users from the Wiki. They should be able to remove any user, except the user who is currently flagged as the "owner" of the Wiki (a Wiki must have exactly one owner at all times). In my control logic, I'd like to use something like this: wiki.WikiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); mRepository.Save(); And have any broken rules transferred to the UI layer. What I DON'T want to have to do is this: if(wikiUser.WikiUserId != wiki.OwnerId) { wiki.WikiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); mRepository.Save(); } else { //Handle errors. } I also don't particularly want to move the code to my repository (because there is nothing to indicate not to use the native Remove functions), so I also DON'T want code like this: mRepository.RemoveWikiUser(wiki, wikiUser) mRepository.Save(); This WOULD be acceptable: try { wiki.WikiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); mRepository.Save(); } catch(ValidationException ve) { //Display ve.Message } But this catches too many errors: try { wiki.WikiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); mRepository.Save(); } catch(SqlException se) { //Display se.Message } I would also PREFER NOT to explicitly call a business rule check (although it may become necessary): wiki.WIkiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); if(wiki.CheckRules()) { mRepository.Save(); } else { //Display broken rules }

    I need to check if I Filesystem exists, and if it does exist there is 300 MB of space in it. What I have so far: if [ "$(df -m /opt/IBM | grep -vE '^Filesystem' | awk '{print ($3)}')" < "300" ] then echo "not enough space in the target filesystem" exit 1 fi This throws an error.     Hello Guys..., I want to use the UseEllipses DW property in PB 10.5. I found that this property is used in PB 11 and after but I don't know if you know something more for this in PB 10.5 or another way to implement it... I 've tried this = dw_master.Modify("comments.EditMask.UseEllipsis=Yes") but an error message is shown that 'UseEllipses' is an unknown property... That's why Iam asking you if you know another way of this property, in order to use it in PB 10.5.2 Thanks in advance !!!

Part of my string looks like this: "veau (c\u00f4telette)","veau (filet)","agneau (gigot)","agneau (c\u00f4telette)","b*\u0153*uf (hach\u00e9)","porc (hach\u00e9)" I would like to replace all the \u0153 with "oe".     i am doing load test on this REST API using SOAPUI. http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/xml?address=1600+Amphitheatre+Parkway,+Mountain+View,+CA&sensor=false i ve successfully setup the testsuite and all. my doubt is is it possible to change the query parameters in the REST API url by passing values from the script editor(either javascript or groovy) for the test suite when i perform test? if so, how should i write the script?     Here's the query: INSERT INTO jobemails (jobid, to, subject, message, headers, datesent) VALUES ('340', '[email protected]', 'We\'ve received your request for a photo shoot called \'another\'.', 'message', 'headers', '2010-04-22 15:55:06') The datatypes are all correct, it always fails at the subject, so it must be how I'm escaping the values, I assume. I'm sure one of you will see my idiot mistake right away. A little help?
