  • plot of multiple line segments on 2D plot in Mathematica

    Hi, I would like to plot multiple, perhaps thousands of line segments on a single 2D plot in Mathematica. These line segments would be determined from an algorithm that would detected and save each segments endpoints. Once the algorithm has determined all the line segments within a finite 2D plot domain and range (e.g., x = 0,4 and y=0,0.5), I would like to plot them all on a single plot.   • JetBrains dotTrace, is it possible to profile source code line by line? else I need another tool

    I am using JetBrains dotTrace, I've profiled my app which is entirely CPU bound. But the results as you walk down the tree don't sum to the level above in the tree, I only see method calls not the body lines of the node in questions method. Is it possible to profile the source code line by line. i.e for one node: SimulatePair() 99.04% --nextUniform() 30.12% --IDCF() 24.08% So the method calls nextUniform + IDCF use 54% of the time in SimulatePair (or 54% total execution time I'm not sure how to read this) regardless what is happening the other 46% of SimulatePair I need some detail on a line by line basis. Any help or alternative tools is much appreciated. Thanks

    When I commit changes with Emacs' built-in VCS interface (I use it with Bazaar) it commits only one file - that's open in current buffer. So when I press C-c v v, enter message and C-c C-c, it does something like bzr commit -m "my message" file/open/in.buffer instead of bzr commit -m "my message" How to commit all changes with Emacs?

  • Cron won't use msmtp to send emails in case of failed cronjob

    I'm trying to configure a machine so that it will send me an email if one of the cronjobs output something in case of an error. I'm using Debian Wheezy. Cron is working normally (without the email functionality). msmtp is installed and configured. Have already symlinked /usr/{bin|sbin}/sendmail to /usr/bin/msmtp. I can send email by using: echo "test" | mail -s "subject" [email protected] or by executing: echo "test" | /usr/sbin/sendmail Without the symlink (/usr/sbin/sendmail) cron will tell me that: (CRON) info (No MTA installed, discarding output) With the symlinks I get: (root) MAIL (mailed 1 byte of output; but got status 0x004e, #012) Can you suggest how to config the cron/msmtp pair? Thanks! EDIT: Note: I've written "msmtpd" by mistake. Its not a daemon but rather an SMTP client named just "msmtp" (without the "d" ending). It is executed on demand and it is not running in the background all the time.   • Windows Batch file to echo a specific line number

    So for the second part of my current dilemma, I have a list of folders in c:\file_list.txt. I need to be able to extract them (well, echo them with some mods) based on the line number because this batch script is being called by an iterative macro process. Doh! So, I've tried echoing !a! (result: ECHO is off.); I've tried echoing %a (result: a) I figured the easy thing to do would be to modify the head.bat code found here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/130116/dos-batch-commands-to-read-first-line-from-text-file except rather than echoing every line - I'd just echo the last line found. Not as simple as one might think. I've noticed that my counter is staying at zero for some reason; I'm wondering if the set /a counter+=1 is doing what I think it's doing.

  • Perl, regex, extract data from a line

" \n"; Basically at first im trying to set the location of the my.txt file. Next im trying to read it and pull part of the line with regex. The error Im getting is: Unrecognized escape \m passed through at 1130.pl line 17. I took a look at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1040657/how-can-i-grab-multiple-lines-after-a-matching-line-in-perl to get an idea of how to read a file and match a line within it, however im not 100% sure I'm doing this right or in the best way. I also seem to produce the error: Error, my.txt not found. But the file does exist in the folder C:\backups\MySQL\

    I've implemented IAlertUpdateHandler interface in a class and used it for handling creation and updating of alerts. The code is fired but it goes into endless loop by calling itself again and again. Actually I want to suppress email notification so I'm calling a.Update(false); but this again calls PreUpdate or PostUpdate method and there is StackOverFlowException :( I've tried returning true/false from both the methods but nothing is helping.

  • Job queue manager with RPC interface

    I need a job queue manager that I can control over the Internet. It should be able to execute and stop processes, check on their status (ideally notice and execute some code when a process exits), respond to commands and also be able to report back to a server. Background: I have a GWT application that allows to create jobs to execute on a cloud instance (currently EC2). I want to push a "job packet" (data for a process to operate on etc) to S3, start a Linux EC2 instance (or use one that's already running), and tell a job manager on the instance to execute that job (possibly parallel to other jobs). It should then pull the "job packet" from S3, run a process that operates on that data and report back to the server that is running the server part of my GWT application with some information (e.g. exit code, stdout, stderr). If I have to write e.g. stdour/err to a file from the process and read that file, that's OK too. I would really like the manager to be "close" to the processes it runs, meaning I want to avoid using something like Runtime.exec from the JDK. It seems like I would have to do that if I used Quartz for example. I'm fine with the calls in both directions being asynchronous. I'm fine with any reasonable technology for the calls as long as I can easily build an interface for that in my GWT server side (e.g. HTTP requests to a servlet over SSL would be nice and trivial). The job manager does not need to have a very sophisticated queueing system. Running several processes either sequentially or in parallel should be fine. Determining how much compute time a process received during its lifetime would be nice (AFAIK, this might be challenging). I did not yet find any existing software that does this, including http://java-source.net/open-source/job-schedulers. I suspect I might have to build an RPC interface (with authentication etc, of course) around a job manager; maybe use something like Apache Commons Exec. In that case, I would prefer Java or Python for the job manager part. I would be happy to hear suggestions for either the former or latter scenario!
