I have this setup in sshd_config: AllowUsers test1 test2 Match group sftpgroup ChrootDirectory /var/www X11Forwarding no AllowTcpForwarding no ForceCommand internal-sftp Match user test2 ChrootDirectory /var/www/somedomain.dk X11Forwarding no AllowTcpForwarding no ForceCommand internal-sftp I am trying to restrict test2 to only use /var/www/somedomain.dk For some reason when I try to login e.g. with Filezilla on account test2 I get this error: "Server unexpectedly closed network connection" The users are created and works. the SSH service has been stopped and started. test1 works when using e.g. filezilla and the root of the connection is /var/www. What am I doing wrong?

  I have a somehow complicated problem I am trying to solve. I've used the following .htaccess directive to enable some sort of Pretty URLs, and that worked fine. For example, http://myurl.com/shop would be redirected to http://myurl.com/index.php/shop, and that was well working (note that stuff such as myurl.com/css/mycss.css) does not get redirected: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond ${REQUEST_URI} !^(index\.php$) RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^/?(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L] But now, as I have introduced SSL to my webpage, I want the following behaviour: I basically want the above behaviour for all pages except admin.php and login.php. • How to store etckeeper repositories on a central server via git

  Hello, I would like to have one central git repository for all my servers' etckeeper .git repos. Here the suggestion was to use a file in /etc/etckeeper/commit.d, which basically looks like this, assuming that a git repo had been set up in somedir on somehost: #!/bin/sh cd /etc git push faruser@farhost:somedir The problem with this is, that it would be really nice to have all servers in the same repo on the central server. I tried git push faruser@farhost:somedir/server1 but that failed. As you can see, I've never worked with git before ...   Howdy, I'm a big fan of ksh93. My hosts' shell account does not allow me to configure .login .profile or chsh to change my default shell. As it is, I am dropped into jailshell-3.2 and I have to invoke /bin/ksh93 manually. Is there some work around for this? Thanks in advance.

• Dell docking station / Windows 7 not detecting HannsG JC199D via DVI

  I have a laptop running Win7 that I use with a Dell docking station. I'd used it with XP for a couple years running dual monitors from the docking station, one from the VGA and one from the DVI. After upgrading to Win7, the monitor that's on the DVI out is not detected, using "rigorous detection" or otherwise. I've switched the cables to verify that it's not the monitor at fault-- but I can't find any info on why the monitor wouldn't be detected. I've got the latest and greatest Nvidia drivers installed (at least, as far as Windows update is aware). Leaving the laptop lid partly open does allow Windows to detect the laptop's native screen as well as the VGA monitor, but never the DVI. The monitors are HannsG JC199Ds. Any ideas? Thanks!

• Forward Hostname via my router to another PC for debugging

  Hi, My web service runs on for example: http://mydomain.com/mywebservice.asmx. This works great, but I have a PDA application which I want to debug it synchronising through this web service. Currently the only way I can do this is to debug the webservice running on the actual server which is far from ideal. What I would like to do is for any device connecting on my wireless network, if it requests mywebservice.asmx for this to forward the request to my development PC and for IIS to then handle the request and allow me to debug in Visual Studio. So device on the network that requests the hostname: mywebservice.asmx will his this PC.. I am at a loss to set this up on my router (Zoom ADSL X6), this is massively out of my scope but any help would be much appreciated

• Very slow connection to xserve via afp or smb

  Help. File transfer and connection speed to our Xserve are painfully slow from newly purchased iMacs. The Xserve is only used as a file server, its running 10.4.11. The problem seems to be only happening on brand new iMacs running 10.6.3. When connected either over afp or smb copying files is many times slower than usual. Other machines on the network running either 10.4 or 10.5 have a normal connection speed. To try to rule out OS incompatibility I connected the new iMac running 10.6 to another computer running 10.4 over the network. The file transfer speed was fast as normal. So it seems the problems lies with the X serve (maybe). The afp logs either access or error don't show anything unusual. One thing that did look different was when the imac was connected to the Xserve the user had its id listed as its IP address. The other machines connected, had the id of broadcasthost. I also noticed that when connected from the new iMac I can only see one of the mirrors. When any other computer connects both mirrors are shown. Tried a restart of the Xserve but the problem persists. Thanks in advance for any advice

  It seems that all the wireless laptops in the office have disconnected and are unable to reconnect to the wifi after a terrible storm caused some power interruptions. Troubleshooting actions Verify wireless broadcasting is up With each laptop i ended up flushing their dns cache on Win 7 (ipconfig /flush ) Performed an ipconfig /all to see what the new ip is Made sure password was correct Reset the router (multiple times) restarted each laptop. Tried connecting wirelessly Am i missing some small detail ? Network information The router is a linksys/cisco WRVS4400N router. Supports a lot of fancy features i don't know how to use. We have 3 static ip's the conference room computer, the wireless printer, my computer Mostly windows machines, we have 3 mac users

However, when I embed it within a Page, I get a broken image icon. However, all browsers treat it as a download. Conversely, this image, which was made the same way, works fine when I embed it within a Page. • Cherrypy web application won't communicate outside localhost via VPN

  I'm trying to run a Python2.7/Cherrypy web server on Win 7 which is connected to a VPN to establish a dedicate IP address. (If I run the exact same application on Win XP connected to the VPN it works fine.) On Win 7 I tried configuring it to use port 8080, 8005, or 80 with no improvements. I turned off Windows Firewall altogether to test and there was no improvement. If I run Apache on the Win 7 machine on port 80 it works fine so I'm pretty sure it's not the VPN service or router. If I go to WhatismyIP.com it shows that I have the IP address being provided by the VPN. Here is the Python code, but I suspect the problem is the network configuration: import cherrypy class HelloWorld: def index(self): return "Hello world!3" index.exposed = True cherrypy.root = HelloWorld() cherrypy.config.update({"global":{ "server.environment": "production", "server.socketPort": 8005 } }) cherrypy.server.start() This will return a web page if I go to localhost:8005, but not if I go to the VPN IP address:8005 from another machine. • How to choose which fields are available via LDAP from an Active Directory

  I'm using PHP to do an ldap search and then pull the attributes out using ldap_get_attributes. This returns an array of data (that can be seen here) however there are some fields that are missing such as Organization Title, department, company, address and telephone number. How to I make these fields available? There is a similar question here: http://www.petri.co.il/forums/showthread.php?t=15227 I've followed the steps outlined there an tried changing some access permissions but am not really sure what I'm doing and can't see any permissions that directly relate to the fields that I can see when I edit a user in the "Active Directory Users Computers" window. I am a PHP developer, not a Windows server administrator so am finding configuring an AD rather challenging so please don't assume any level of knowledge about AD. I've asked the same question on stack exchange but understand this is a more relevant place to ask.

  I am trying to copy multiple (1000s) .JPG files from remote SFTP server to current server using mget command but it is not working. Here is the command that I used sftp [email protected] sftp> cd /images sftp> mget *.JPG Screenshot at http://i.stack.imgur.com/bSciQ.png Nothing happens so when I do CTRL + C it gives an error that says File "/images/*.JPG" not found. I have already referred all suggestions posted on the forum but nothing is working. Let me know if there is another way to copy.

It works fine on servers at our office but when I ran it on our remote servers I got must issue a starttls command first So maybe there is a setting somewhere which is different between the two servers, and that's why it's working on one and not the other. One of our team is struggling to send an email to said employee. The client says the email is valid, but the postmaster reply tells me otherwise. could not be delivered. • deploying AV via GPO only to workstations

  We have a small (100 machines) Windows domain running Server 2008R2. We use Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 I want to have GPO deploy the AV software to client machines automatically, but only to client workstations, not to servers, which run a different software. I've set it up before using a GPO linked to the domain mycompany.local and it works, but it deploys the AV software to ALL machines on the domain, including my servers. I can create an OU in active directory for Servers, and perhaps create one for client machines too, but I'd rather not have to go and move new domain members from the default under Computers into a different folder. How can I use GPO to deploy this AV software only to workstations on our network, and not to servers?

• How do I open a file with a program via a shortcut from the cmd prompt

  Here's my predicament: When I add a program's location to my PATH, I can do the following in cmd prompt to open a file in my current directory: notepad++ open_me.txt And this opens open_me.txt in notepad++. However, I don't want to have to add every single program I want to run to my path. What I want is to add a folder called C:\Users\Me\Documents\Programs to my path and just drop shortcuts to various programs into that folder and have them function the same as adding them to my path. So I dropped a link to notepad++.exe named "np" in my folder, and what I got was this: I have to run it with start np (instead of just np) But more importantly, if I try start np open_me.txt, it opens notepad++.exe but looks for open_me.txt in notepad++'s directory. How can I do this properly? (Also, I'd like to be opening notepad++.exe with the shortened name of np)
