  • 100% height on nested table cell in IE

    I want a nested table to expand to the height of the enclosing cell. This works as expected in Firefox/Chrome/Safari, but not in IE7 or IE8. Please see the example here: http://www.bitmechanic.com/heightDemo.html The DOCTYPE is relevant. While the demo above validates as HTML 4.01 Strict, it does not render properly in IE7. If I remove the DOCTYPE entirely, or set it to HTML 3.2, it renders properly in IE. Any suggestions on how to get this to render in 4.01 (strict or loose)? The actual web site is a bit more complicated -- changing the DOCTYPE will cause all sorts of other problems. We're struggling to understand the (presumed) IE bug here and how to work around it. thanks -- James

    I use Authlogic with the Authlogic-openid addon (I gem installed ruby- openid and script/plugin install git://github.com/rails/open_id_authentication.git) and get two errors. First when running functional test, I get an undefined method openid_identifier? message on a line in my new.html.erb file when running the UsersControllerTest.   • In ExtJS, how do I place two fieldsets side-by-side in a panel with a hbox layout?

    In ExtJS, I'm having a little trouble placing two fieldsets side-by-side in a panel with a hbox layout. The hbox layout seems to be unaware of the fieldset's height, and cuts it off, even if I explicitly set the panel's height to something large. Here's what it looks like: The blue border is the hbox panel, and there's 2 fieldsets inside, 'Client Info' and 'Owner Info'.     Hello. I have just started my first project on GeoDjango. As a matter of fact, with GeoDjango powered Admin application we all have a great possibility to view/edit spatial data, associated with the current object. The problem is that after the objects having been populated I need to render several objects' associated geometry at once on a single map. I might implement it as a model action, redirecting to a custom view. I just don't know, how to include the OpenLayers widget in the view and how to render there my compound geometry from my GeoQuerySet. I would be very thankful for any hint from an experienced GeoDjango programmer.

    Hi, Can anyone advise if its possible to pass data via JQUERY to an ASP.NET MVC controller action and have a view rendered in new browser tab based on the model data passed to the action method. My scenario is that I have a Jqgrid populated with product info on a page. The user would tick the items in the grid that they would like a label produced for. After they've made their slection they would click a button and I would like (if possible) to render a view of that contains a label for each selected item and have the view render in a new browser tab. All the code to allow the selections and post the relevant data back to the action method is all working fine and I know its easy to use the Jquery $(selector).load() command to populate an element on the current page with the HTML returned from the action. But is it possible to populate an element on a page in a new browser tab. If it is how would I go about it? Hope this make sense.

    I have the following routes defined for my application: routes.MapRoute( "Referral", // Route name "{referralCode}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index" } // Parameter defaults ); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index" } // Parameter defaults ); And I'm trying to create an ActionLink to go on the Index action on my AdminController: @Html.ActionLink("admin", "Index", "Admin") However, when the view is executed the ActionLink renders as (Index action value is omitted): <a href="/Admin">admin</a> Normally this would be ok, but it's causing a collision with the "Referral" route. NOTE: If I instead use ActionLink to render a different action like "Default," the ActionLink renders correctly: <a href="/Admin/Default">admin</a> The fact that the "Default" action renders correctly leads me to believe the problem has to do with the default value specified for the route. Is there anyway to force ActionLink to render the "Index" action as well?

    I'm trying to get MRT working in OpenGL to try out deferred rendering. Here's the situation as I understand it. Create 3 render buffers (for example). Two RGBA8 and one Depth32. Create an FBO. Attach render buffers to FBO. ColorAttachment0/1 for color buffers, DepthAttachment for depth buffer. Bind the FBO. Draw geometry. Send data to different attachments using gl_FragData[] in the frag shader. At this point I would want to take the data in another pass using GLSL, how can a) retrieve data from the framebuffer color attachments, b) get data from the depth component.

    I create some dynamic report. by default, create a table with all available field and hidden by expression, therefore column hide when user want (by checkbox in aspx page) problem: my report is "right to left" therefore when hiding some column, report must shown from right, but as you know, when report render, it create table column from left, my question is how to render report from right ???? for solving this problem i create some column without data and set hidden expression != main column hidden state, therefore my problem solved but found another problem, report width!!! because page width really must 8.5in but when hiding some column, page Width not decrease and remain 15in!!! how to solve this problem ???   • Ensuring unique ID attribute for elements within ScriptControl

    I'm creating a control based on ScriptControl, and I'm overriding the Render method like this: protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer) { RenderBeginTag(writer); writer.RenderBeginTag(HtmlTextWriterTag.Div); writer.Write("This is a test."); writer.RenderEndTag(); RenderEndTag(writer); } My question is, what if I want to assign the div an ID attribute and have it be unique on the page, even if there are mulitple instances of my control? I've seen other people's code that does this: writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Id, this.ID + "_divTest"); That will prevent naming conflicts between instances of my control, but what if I've already created a div elsewhere on the page that coincidentally has the same ID? I've also heard about implementing INamingContainer. Would that apply here? How could I use it?

  • How well are SVG filter elements defined?

    We are considering using SVG filters as part of our toolchain, serving the SVG to browsers capable of supporting it, while serving pre-rendered PNGs to other. One problem we noticed is that the rendering of the filter chains seems to be very inconsistent across renderers. When looking at the "filters01" example from the SVG specification, the rendering looks very different across the tools we tried. Chrome (5.0.307.11) failed to render the image, while other tools (Firefox 3.6, Opera 10.10, Inkscape 0.47, GIMP 2.6.7) render something vaguely similar in style to the picture in the specification, but no two are truly the same. Is that an issue of under-specification or are the tools just not there? If we would use SVG with filter effects: is there a reference tool that can give us a rendering the way it is intended by the spec?

Specifically, I'm trying to understand in which scenario to use each one by listing how each works. I'm a little fuzzy on UpdatePanel vs CallBack (with ViewState): I know UpdatePanel always returns HTML while CallBack can return JSON. Any other major differences? ...and CallBack (without ViewState) vs WebMethod. CallBack goes through most of the Page lifecycle, WebMethod doesn't. Any other major differences?     Hello everyone, I'm debugging an HttpModule with an ASP.NET response filter. This dynamically rewrites portions of rendered SharePoint WCM pages. The publishing pages render fine in SP2007 on both Server 2003 and Server 2008. However the equivalent pages fail to render in SP2010 B2 on Server 2008 R2 / IIS7. The following error is returned by ASP.NET: Post cache substitution is not compatible with modules in the IIS integrated pipeline that modify the response buffers. Either a native module in the pipeline has modified an HTTP_DATA_CHUNK structure associated with a managed post cache substitution callback, or a managed filter has modified the response. This error is consistent with KB #2014472. However: Caching is disabled for anonymous & authenticated access at the site collection level There do not appear to be any Substitution controls on either the master or layout page The IIS 7 settings are all stock default This is happening e.g. on /pages/default.aspx. It seems likely I'm missing something cache related...but what?

Something like this: {{ form.myfield.0 }}} Or perhaps hanging it onto widget itself: {{ form.myfield.field.widget.0 }} What bugs me is that RadioFieldRenderer already implements __get_item__ to get just one RadioInput. The problem is that the renderer does not contain data, neither does the widget. And I'd really hate to mess with Field and BoundField. I need this to inject html before/after each radiobutton and I'd like it to be done in the template. From the code it would be easy. Any ideas are welcome.

    We are using ASP.NET ReportViewer Control to render rdl files. In the rdl files we have set the font to “Century Gothic” and in preview mode it renders the fonts nicely. However – when it gets rendered on browser we see the fonts defaulted to “Times New Roman”. I tried couple of things without success: 1. Setting the font family of the page () 2. Setting the FontNames of the ReportViewer control Please let me know how we can render the fonts to Century Gothic. One more thing is I don't see Century Gothic in the list of available fonts in the HTML Editor inside Visual Studio 2010. Do I need to add them somewhere?

  • Changing the Default View Engine's view search behavior.

    I'm working with ASP.NET MVC 2. I have a bunch of partial views that I render based on different conditions within the same controller. I'd like to not put the physical partial view files in with the controller's other views. I know that when I want a ViewResult using the View() or PartialView() methods the default view engine will search through the folder in the Views directory associated with the controller (i.e. if my controller is called Register it will look in the Register folder under Views) and also in the Shared folder. Is there any way to change this behavior, or perhaps tell it specifically where to look for the view -- heck, even give it a specific file to render? Is that possible? Perhaps even a sub-folder under the Shared folder will work...

  • WriteableBitmap in .NET 4

    Hi there, I have got a problem: I would like to use a method Render() for WriteableBitmap object. However, as I noticed, the method is not available without using a Silverlight assembly System.Windows.dll. I need to use RenderTargetBitmap in my project (PresentationCore assembly for standard .net). Here is the problem - there are definitions of some classes in both assemblies, thus they are in conflict. Basically, I need to add some stuff to Bgra32 bitmap. However, RenderTargetBitmap works only with Pbgra32 ones. I found that using WriteableBitmap to render would be nice. Maybe I am wrong? Do you have any ideas? Thank you in advance for the reply!
