• SmartGWT - Update ListGridRecord dynamically

  I am using SmartGWT and I have a ListGrid populated with an array of ListGridRecords using the setData() call. I am trying to update a progress property of a single record (on a timer for testing) and have it update in the browser. I have tried various combinations of draw(), redraw(), markForRedraw() etc. to no avail. I also tried overriding the updateRecordComponent() method in my table class, but it only gets called when the records are first created (after createRecordComponent()). I should note that I do NOT want to accomplish this by binding to a DataSource. I just want to be able to update the attribute on the client-side. • How to update a uniform variable in GLSL

  Hi All, I am trying to get update the eye position in my shader from my appliaction but I keep getting error 1281 when I attempt this. I have no problems after the initialization just when i subsequently try to update the values. • Sharepoint People Editor within Update Panel - Cannot set value after partial postback

  trying to set default value in the people picker with an update panel. On a test page without an update panel, the code PeopleEditor1.CommaSeparatedAccounts = "domain\\user.account"; works just fine. As soon as I add an update panel around that people editor the picker's text area gets cleared out and future calls to the above snippet are ignored.   I have a website that has an update query. Example. Table name - myTable Table Content - id(AI) name -- myName age -- 13 image -- (no values) birthdate -- (no values) I only put values in name and age. In image and birthdate, I haven't put anything. If I edit it and update it and I don't put anything in name and in age, I only put values in image and in birthdate. The output is like this. Now ruleTableDA.Update(dt) is throwing the exception "Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records."

  Hi, I have a strange issue (at least for me :)) with the MySQL's locking facility. I have a table: Create Table: CREATE TABLE test ( id int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, PRIMARY KEY (id) ) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=13 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 With this data: +----+ | id | +----+ | 3 | | 4 | | 5 | | 6 | | 7 | | 8 | | 10 | | 11 | | 12 | +----+ Now I have 2 clients with these commands executed at the beginning: set autocommit=0; set session transaction isolation level serializable; begin; Now the most interesting part. The first client executes this query: (makes an intent to insert a row with id equal to 9) SELECT * from test where id = 9 FOR UPDATE; Empty set (0.00 sec) Then the second client does the same: SELECT * from test where id = 9 FOR UPDATE; Empty set (0.00 sec) My question is: Why the second client does not block ? An exclusive gap lock should have been set by the first query because FOR UPDATE have been used and the second client should block. If I am wrong, could somebody tell me how to do it correctly ? DISTINCT will stop the repeated row to display. username is from user table. album, album_permission. its checking if album is private and if it is, then check if user has permission, by user_id. i think rest is easy to understand, but if you need to know more about it, then please ask. im really frustrated by this query and site is very slow or not opening sometimes cause of this query. please help

• Cannot update a single field using Linq to Sql

  I am having a hard time attempting to update a single field without having to retrieve the whole record prior to saving. For example, in my web application I have an in place editor for the Name and Description fields of an object. Once you edit either field, it sends the new field (with the object's ID value) to the web server. What I want is the webserver to take that value and ID and only update the one field. There are only two ways google tells me to do this: 1) When I get the value I want to change, the value and the ID, retrieve the record from the database, update the field in the c# object, and then send it back to the server. I don't like this method because not only does it include a completely unnecessary database read call (which includes two tables due to the way my schema is). 2) Set UpdateCheck for all the fields (but the primary keys) to UpdateCheck.Never. This doesn't work for me (I think) due to my mapping layer between the Linq to Sql and my Entity/ViewModel layer. When I convert my entity into the linq to sql db object it seems to be updating those fields regardless of the UpdateCheck setting. This might be just because of integers, since not setting an int means it is a zero (and no, I can't use int? instead). Are there any other options that I have?

  I'm attempting to use an UpdatePanel, but can't get partial-page updates to work. When I look at the ScriptManager's IsInAsyncPostBack property, it's always false. Here's a page that reproduces the issue. • Setting up a "cookieless domain" to improve site performance

  I was reading in Google's documentation about improving site speed. One of their recommendations is serving static content (images, css, js, etc.) from a "cookieless domain": Static content, such as images, JS and CSS files, don't need to be accompanied by cookies, as there is no user interaction with these resources. You can decrease request latency by serving static resources from a domain that doesn't serve cookies. Google then says that the best way to do this is to buy a new domain and set it to point to your current one: To reserve a cookieless domain for serving static content, register a new domain name and configure your DNS database with a CNAME record that points the new domain to your existing domain A record. Configure your web server to serve static resources from the new domain, and do not allow any cookies to be set anywhere on this domain. In your web pages, reference the domain name in the URLs for the static resources. This is pretty straight forward stuff, except for the bit where it says to "configure your web server to serve static resources from the new domain, and do not allow any cookies to be set anywhere on this domain". From what I've read, there's no setting in IIS that allows you to say "serve static resources", so how do I prevent ASP.NET from setting cookies on this new domain? At present, even if I'm just requesting a .jpg from the new domain, it sets a cookie on my browser, even though our application's cookies are set to our old domain. For example, ASP.NET sets an ".ASPXANONYMOUS" cookie that (as far as I'm aware) we're not telling it to do. Apologies if this is a real newb question, I'm new at this! Thanks.

• Basic site analytics doesn't tally with Google data

  After being stumped by an earlier quesiton: SO google-analytics-domain-data-without-filtering I've been experimenting with a very basic analytics system of my own. MySQL table: hit_id, subsite_id, timestamp, ip, url The subsite_id let's me drill down to a folder (as explained in the previous question). I can now get the following metrics: Page Views - Grouped by subsite_id and date Unique Page Views - Grouped by subsite_id, date, url, IP (not nesecarily how Google does it!) The usual "most visited page", "likely time to visit" etc etc. I've now compared my data to that in Google Analytics and found that Google has lower values each metric. Ie, my own setup is counting more hits than Google. So I've started discounting IP's from various web crawlers, Google, Yahoo & Dotbot so far. Short Questions: Is it worth me collating a list of all major crawlers to discount, is any list likely to change regularly? Are there any other obvious filters that Google will be applying to GA data? What other data would you collect that might be of use further down the line? What variables does Google use to work out entrance search keywords to a site? The data is only going to used internally for our own "subsite ranking system", but I would like to show my users some basic data (page views, most popular pages etc) for their reference.

  I want to have a multi-language magento site use a flag image instead of a language selector box for user to select language of page. • IPreInsertEventListener makes object dirty, causes invalid update

  In NHibernate 2.1.2: I'm attempting to set a created timestamp on insert, as demonstrated here. I have this: public bool OnPreInsert(PreInsertEvent @event) { if (@event.Entity is IHaveCreatedTimestamp) { DateTime dt = DateTime.Now; string Created = ((IHaveCreatedTimestamp)@event.Entity).CreatedPropertyName; SetState(@event.Persister, @event.State, Created, dt); @event.Entity.GetType().GetProperty(Created).SetValue(@event.Entity, dt, null); } // return true to veto the insert return false; } The problem is that doing this (or duplicating Ayende's example precisely, or reordering or removing lines) causes an update after the insert. The insert uses the correct "now" value, @p6 = 3/8/2011 5:41:22 PM, but the update tries to set the Created column to @p6 = 1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM, which is outside MSSQL's range: Test 'CanInsertAndDeleteInserted' failed: System.Data.SqlTypes.SqlTypeException : SqlDateTime overflow. Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM. I've tried the same thing with the PerformSaveOrUpdate listener, described here, but that also causes an update and an insert, and elsewhere there have been mentions of avoiding it because it is called regardless of if the object is dirty or not :/ Searching around elsewhere, there are plenty of claims of success after setting both the state and the object to the same value, or by using the save listener, or of the cause coming from collections or other objects, but I'm not having any success.
