    I have a small thing. public int GetSum(List<int> x) { foreach (int i in x) sum += i; return sum; } where x is a List of integers defined as List<int> l = new List<int>(); l.Add(4); l.Add(2); l.Add(5); l.Add(8); l.Add(6); and has been passed as GetSum(l) Is it possible to rewrite the above foreach loop using a lambda? Reason: I started looking into the lambda stuffs since yesterday and is interested to learn .. however simple it may be. Thanks.

    Hello! In my JS, I have an object called box_object. Using jQuery I can use the .each() method. So I tried it, but it failed.     Hi,I have been stuck on this issue for quite some time now.Have read the documentation and many tutorials and they just confuse me more.I hope someone will provide me a straightforward answer.It's really important.Thank you.. Ok ..so i want an activity to get some input from the user as and then send that string to a service.Then i want my service to run in a way so that i can use other applications while this one keeps running in the background.Also i don't want the service to keep running every second.What i want is for the service to get updated location of my current position every 10 minutes so i was thinkin if there could be a way to make my service to go to sleep n wake up evry 10 mins n check for updates.I don't want to show the update on the UI so i dont think i need to use an AIDL approach and also dont need to bind to the service.I js simply want to start the service as soon as the user enters the string and keep the service runing every 10 mins.I think it is really simple but m very confused.Please help.

    I am trying to test out writing a dictionary to a plist. The following code does not report any errors, but I cannot find any trace of the file that I supposed wrote. Here is the code snippet: NSDictionary *myDictionary = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys: @"First letter of the alphabet", @"A", @"Second letter of the alphabet", @"B", @"Third letter of the alphabet", @"C", nil ]; I can see the dictionary contents displayed properly with either method calls: NSLog(@"Here is my partial dictionary %@", myDictionary); for (NSString *key in myDictionary) NSLog(@"here it is again %@ %@", key, [myDictionary objectForKey:key]); The following code displays the "succeeded" message when the program is run repeatedly if ([myDictionary writeToFile: @"myDictionary" atomically:YES ] == NO) NSLog(@"write to file failed"); else NSLog(@"write to file succeeded"); even when changing the atomically: argument to NO to not write a temporary file. However, when I search my current directory, or even my entire Mac, I cannot find any file called "myDictionary.plist" or any file with the string "myDictionary". Isn't the path variable "@myDictionary" supposed to represent the file at the current directory, i.e. where the class executable resides?

    I have a situation for which I am looking for a more elegant solution. Consider the below cases "BKP","bkp","book-to-price" (will represent) BOOK-TO-PRICE "aop","aspect oriented program" (will represent) ASPECT-ORIENTED-PROGRAM i.e. if the user enter BKP or bkp or book-to-price , the program should treat that as BOOK-TO-PRICE. The same holds good for the second example(ASPECT-ORIENTED-PROGRAM). I have the below solution: Solution: if (str == "BKP" || str == "bkp" || str == "book-to-price" ) return "BOOK-TO-PRICE". But I think that there can be many other better solutions . Could you people please give some suggestion.(with an example will be better) I am using C#3.0 and dotnet framework 3.5

    I'm used to the PHP fwrite/fread parameter orders, and i want to make them the same in C++ too. I want it to work with char and string types, and also any data type i put in it (only if length is defined).     Hello! At the moment, I am creating some kind of admin panel/backend for my site. I want to do the following: Only admins (a user has a user_role(integer) -- 1 = admin, 2 = moderator, 3 = user) can see and access a link for the admin panel. So I created an admin_controller. In my admin controller I created a new function called is_admin?: class AdminController < ApplicationController def admin_panel end def is_admin? current_user.user_role == 1 end end my route looks like. map.admin_panel '/admin-panel', :controller => 'admin', :action => 'admin_panel' and in my _sidebar.html.erb (partial in applicaton.html.erb) I created the link: <%= link_to "Admin Panel", :admin_panel unless is_admin? %> Now I get an error called: undefined method `is_admin?' Where is the problem? Please help me solving this problem!

    I want to store a username in a coupon object, each coupon object already has the uid of the user who created it. I can loop over the coupon objects and read the associated usernames from fe_users but how then will I save those usernames into the coupons so when they are passed to the template the usernames can be read like so coupon.username, or in some other easy way so each username will appear on the page with the right coupon as they are all printed out in a table? If I was doing basic php instead of typo3 i would just define a query but what is the typo3 v4.5 way? Now I want to redirect the user to another kind of profile-edit-page. How to do this?

    Hello! In my database, I have a "users", a "quests" and a "questings" table. A user can solve a quest. Solving a quest will save the "user_id" and the "quest_id" in my "questings" table. Now, I want to select all quests, a user has NOT solved (meaning there is no entry for this user and quest in "questings" table)! Let's say the user has the id 14. How to write this query? After solving this query, I want to filter the results, too. A quest and a user has a city, too. What to do for writing a query which returns all quests, a user has NOT solved yet, in the users city (user city == quest city)?
