• Is it a Microsoft issue?

  I have a exe was complied by VC6 and the file name is patch.exe, there is no manifest was added, in that case, the EXE file requires administrator privileges, even though I removed all codes, just keep a empty main(), the result is same. But if I change the EXE from patch.exe to a.exe, the issue is gone. Below is my test result. 1. EXE was complied by VC6 2. Without manifest or didn't specific privileges in manifest 3. the exe name included "patch" substring, case-insensitive Is it a Microsoft issue? Why? Tried VC2008, I can't repeat it.

• How to add a dynamically resolved activity name to the back stack (without using PARENT_ACTIVITY)?

  The goal is 1) Start activity A from AppWidgetProvider or any other background task (it is simple). 2) From activity A go to activity B after clicking Back button. The problem is that I can't set PARENT_ACTIVITY in AndroidManifest.xml, because the activity B class name gets determined at run time. So in one case I need to go to activity B, in other case it is another activity. Seems like I can't use TaskStackBuilder without PARENT_ACTIVITY. I could handle this in the finish() method of activity A, but it should be a simpler way to add activity B to the "back stack" when I run startActivity(intent). Any ideas?

  I am trying to right a script for a notification popup. I wan't the popup to fade out after X seconds or fadeout when the user clicks on the message. I can get both effects to work individually but when I try to combine them fadeOut works. • Maintaining traceability up-to-date as project evolves

  During various projects, I needed to make sure that the use case model I developed during the analysis phase is covering the requirements of the project. For that, I was able to have some degree of traceability between requirement statements (uniquely identified) and use cases (also uniquely identified). In some cases, enabling traceability implied some additional effort that I considered (and later proved) to be a good investment. Now, the biggest problem I faced was to maintain this traceability later, when things started to change (as a result of change requests, or as a result of use case changes). Any ideas of best practices for traceability maintenance? (It can apply to other items in the project - e.g. use cases and test cases, or requirements and acceptance test cases) Later edit Tools might help, but they can't detect gaps or errors in traceability. Navigation... maybe, but no warranty that the traceability is up-to-date or correct after applying the changes.

  Before you say "oh no, not again" here I'm stating my case. I'm parsing part of HTML output and the only thing I'm interested in is name and value attributes of each <input/ tag. HTML is actually HTML fragment, may not be well-formed. I don't have DOM or HTML parser and I don't try to parse nested elements anyway. The problem is that I don't know the order or number of attributes so it could be <input name="foo" value="boo"/> or <input type="hidden" name=foo> or <input id=blah value='boo' src="image.png" name="foo" type="img"/>. Is there a single regular expression that would get me values of name and value attribute in predictable order? I wouldn't have asked the question if I could assume that name attribute always precedes value but unfortunately this is not the case

She wants to create one big image for each of these emails and I'm trying to steer her towards using the traditional header-content-footer method so the text within the content will be viewable when images are blocked. Obviously as a designer, she believes in a happy world where 100% of people will open it to see whatever awesome design she made and click to go to our site.   Hello, I have this very strange error with h:graphicImage This code works fine :- <h:graphicImage value="/Common/Images/#{item.templatePicName}"/> And this one doesn't :- <h:graphicImage alt="${app:getCommonImagePath(item.templatePicName)}" value="${app:getCommonImagePath(item.templatePicName)}" /> It only shows alt value /Common/Images/Sunset.jpg which is perfectly fine and works in 1st case. Then why doesn't it work in 2nd case? There are no problems with my images.   Hello everybody, I just have a quick question about how to generate id's on-the-fly for HTML elements. So far I've tried a few things, I started with a "for" loop, I already know how many elements I have to generate Id's for, in this case I have an "ul" with 6 "li". My "for" loop is as follows: var items = $("ul li").length; for(var i = 0; i <= items; i++){ $("ul li").attr("id", "number" + i); } "number" would be the new id concatenated with "i", so I get a different Id for each "li". As you can probably tell, this does not work, because I end up with the same Id for each "li": in this case I get <li id="number6">... </li> for all the "li" elments in the "ul". I tried a "while" loop and ".each()" with jQuery but I get the exact same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

  Can some one tell me if it is possible to submit two different iphone applications which has same Icon.png but have a different bundle name? I am working on a travel guide app that is targeted for different cities. I want the users of different cities to download the app as per their cities. So I want to submit different apps for different cities(3 in my case). User can also purchase any of these cities through in-app purchase. In that case the new purchased city would be unlocked in the app. Here is my thing. I want the same icon for all the three apps. I can do away with different names for app store and bundle(home screen icon name). But I am not sure if apple would approve/reject this app. Can someone enhance this blur picture I have?

• Access the camera of a Smartphone using libGDX

  I searched the web, browsed through the libGDX wiki, but without success. My Question: Is there a way, to access the camera of smartphones, let the user take a photo, and then store the image in a Texture-instance? • Does database affect classes?

  I had created one class User and UserDAOImpl class for querying DB using class User. As there is one table to be queried, these two classes are sufficient for me. What if there is a case where new fields are to be added to that one table is to be divided into 3 tables( user_info, user_profile and user_address) to store user? As new fields are added, I need to change classes User and UserDAOImpl, it seems these two are not sufficient. It seems database changes affect my classes. In this case, do I need to divide class User into 3 classes as tables are changes? Can any one suggest me how can I solve this without making too many changes?

Note: the strings to test will be 99% of the time from 2 to 100 chars length. if ([foo length] > 0) or if ([foo isEqualToString:@""] == NO && foo != nil) I think it depends if isEqualToString: compares the length first (and in that case first way is faster) or if isEqualToString: compares first character of strings first (and in that case second way might be faster). ps: I already know isEqualToString: is faster than isEqual: which is itself faster than compare:.

So, in the following situation, I create a feature branch, and there are commits to the trunk E---F---G Feature / A---B---C---D--H--I trunk I'm looking for a tool which copies the trunk, and applies the commits one by one, letting me resolve any conflicts if any exist - but each commit retains the same commit message, and is still a separate commit. E'---F'---G' Feature / A---B---C---D--H--I trunk So commit E' will be a commit with the same changes as E, except in the case of E causing a conflict, in which case E' will differ from E in that E' has the conflicts resolved, and the same commit message as E. I'm looking for this as it helps in keeping branches up to date with trunk - the svnmerge.py / mergeinfo way does not help, as you still need to resolve your changes when you merge back to trunk.

• Android/ORMLite Insert Row with ID

  I'm currently using ORMLite to work with a SQLite database on Android. As part of this I am downloading a bunch of data from a backend server and I'd like to have this data added to the SQLite database in the exact same format it is on the backend server (ie the IDs are the same, etc). So, my question to you is if I populate my database entry object (we'll call it Equipment), including Equipment's generatedId/primary key field via setId(), and I then run a DAO.create() with that Equipment entry will that ID be saved correctly? I tried it this way and it seems to me that this was not the case. If that is the case I will try again and look for other problems, but with the first few passes over the code I was not able to find one. So essentially, if I call DAO.create() on a database object with an ID set will that ID be sent to the database and if it is not, how can I insert a row with a primary key value already filled out? Thanks!
