  script: http://keith-wood.name/countdown.htm daily json response: items: { fajr: '5:23 am', sharooq: '7:23 am', dhur: '1:34 pm', asr: '4:66 pm': magrib: '6:23 pm', isha: '8:01 pm'} when site loads i make ajax request and get the above response times, these are events that happens daily for everyday, but different timing. i want to get that time and put a count down on how many minitues left or hours or seconds and show that and once the seconds are done, then show how many minitues ago that event took place, after 15 minitues later show new even count down. so following on how it will look on display dhur 2 hours left dhur 2 minutes left (if no longer hours left) dhur 55 seconds left (if no longer minutes left) dhur 5 seconds ago (if count down finished and then show how many seconds ago) dhur 9 minutes ago (if extended more then seconds, then show how many minutes ago) asr 1 hour left (after 15 minutes later time changes to new event) this is kind of very simple for pro in javascript and really complicated for me, so need your guys help, if the script im using not good and you prefer some other script for this kind of task, please share with me, it dont have to be jquery script, but helps if its jquery.

  I am using C# ASP .NET MVC and ajax calls. I am able to get the display of the table along with all features. But, I don't understand how do I add a checkbox and button. • Printing PDFs Server-side using Acrobat Reader from ASP.NET

  Hi, I have been presented with a problem which requires me to print PDF files from a server as part of an ASP.NET web service. The problem is further complicated by the fact that the PDF files I have to print can ONLY be printed using Adobe Reader (they were created using Adobe LiveCycle and have some strange protection in them). This piece of code seems to do the trick in the Visual Studio development web server, but doesn't do anything when the site's running in IIS. I'm assuming this is probably some sort of permissions issue!? I know this is a FAR from ideal thing to be trying to do, but I haven't really got much choice! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! • EJB3 JNDI Lookup Failure in JEE application client

  I'm trying to access an EJB3 from a JEE client-application, but keep getting nothing but lookup failures. My JEE Application 'CoreServer' is exposing a number of beans with remote interfaces. I have no problem accessing them from a Web Application deployed on the same Glassfish v3.0.1. Also, when I deploy 'CoreServer', Glassfish reports: Portable JNDI names for EJB CampaignController : [java:global/CoreServer/CampaignController!mvs.api.CampaignControllerRemote, java:global/CoreServer/CampaignController] Glassfish-specific (Non-portable) JNDI names for EJB CampaignController : [mvs.api.CampaignControllerRemote, mvs.api.CampaignControllerRemote#mvs.api.CampaignControllerRemote] I tried all four names, none worked. Is the appclient unable to access beans with (only) Remote interfaces?

I just installed mod_python in my XAMPP. I thought it would be easy to implement Comet with Python asynchronous programming. But still cannot get a clue how to implement it. Is there any idea how to implement Comet in mod_python?

  Dear stack overflow. I get a weird error when trying to use AXIS1.4 Wsdl2Java tool to generate client code for the web service that is installed on the secure IIS site. Weird thing is that if I use the code generated from the other server against the weird server everything works fine. It is only Wsdl2Java that is giving me a problem.

If so, does SmtpClient represent a POP3 client or does SmtpClient forward email message to POP3 client? Do attributes specified inside <smtp> element in web.config map to SmtpClient class? <system.net> <mailSettings> <smtp deliveryMethod="Network" ...></smtp> </mailSettings> </system.net> One of the possible values for the attribute deliveryMethod is Network, which tells that email should be sent through the network to an SMTP server. In other words, this value tells to send email to SMTP server using SMTP protocol?! For the PasswordRecovery control to be able to send email messages, we need to set basic properties in <MailDefinition> subelement of the PasswordRecovery control. Thus I assume MailDefinition is used by controls to create an email message?!

As a side note, in case I'm doing this all wrong, I would like to be able to make changes to the .Bids list without incrementing Version. I saw an example on Ayende's blog that did what I wanted with properties.

• WCF Webservices and FaultContract - Client's receiving SoapExc insted of FaultException<TDetails>

  Hi All, i'm developing a WCF Webservice and consuming it within a mvc2 application. My problem is that i'm using FaultContracts on my methods with a custom FaultDetail and i'm throwing manyally the faultexception but when the client receive the exception , it receives a normal SoapException instead of my FaultException that i throwed from the service side. Here is some code: Custom Fault Detail Class: [DataContract] public class MyFaultDetails { [DataMember] public string Message { get; set; } } Operation on service contract: [OperationContract] [FaultContract(typeof(MyFaultDetails))] void ThrowException(); Implementation: public void ThrowException() { var details = new MyFaultDetails { Message = "Exception Test" }; throw new FaultException<MyFaultDetails >(details , new FaultReason(details .Message), new FaultCode("MyFault")); } Client side: try { // Obv proxy init etc.. service.ThrowException(); } catch (FaultException<MyFaultDetails> ex) { // stuff } catch (Exception ex) { // stuff } What i expect is to catch the FaultException , instead that catch is skipped and the next catch is taken with an exception of type SoapException. Am i missing something ? i red a lot of threads about using faultcontracts within wcf and what i did seems to be good. • WCF 3.5 to 3.0 backwards compatibility with callback services

  I have a set of existing WCF services hosted in a .NET 3.0 app. They're using the WSHttp bindings and no security. I need to connect to these from a .NET 3.5 client. This seems to be working fine for the one-way services, but I also have some callback services (with CallbackContract and SessionMode = Required, using WSDualHttpBinding); these fail to connect with a timeout somewhere in the ReliableSession code. The service side cannot be changed (it's a historic version issue). Can I modify something on the client side to get this working? (I can connect with a .NET 3.0 client just fine, but I'd rather not be forced to try that path.) The open operation did not complete within the allotted timeout of 00:00:09.9410000. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. • Server-side auto-minify?

  Is there any way to automatically minify static content and then serve it from a cache automatically? Similar to have mod_compress/mod_deflate work? Preferably something I could use in combination with compression (since compression has a more noticeable benefit). My preference is something that works with lighttpd but I haven't been able to find anything, so any web server that can do it would be interesting.

• CQRS - The query side

  A lot of the blogsphere articles related to CQRS (command query repsonsibility) seperation seem to imply that all screens/viewmodels are flat. e.g. Name, Age, Location Of Birth etc.. and thus the suggestion that implementation wise we stick them into fast read source etc.. single table per view mySQL etc.. and pull them out with something like primitive SqlDataReader, kick that nasty nhibernate ORM etc.. However, whilst I agree that domain models dont mapped well to most screens, many of the screens that I work with are more dimensional, and Im sure this is pretty common in LOB apps. So my question is how are people handling screen where by for example it displays a summary of customer details and then a list of their orders with a [more detail] link etc.... I thought about keeping with the straight forward SQL query to the Query Database breaking off the outer join so can build a suitable ViewModel to View but it seems like overkill? Alternatively (this is starting to feel yuck) in CustomerSummaryView table have a text/big (whatever the type is in your DB) column called Orders, and the columns for the Order summary screen grid are seperated by , and rows by |. Even with XML datatype it still feeel dirty. Any thoughts on an optimal practice?

• Enteprise Library Exception Handling for WCF Fault Contracts - CLIENT SIDE

  I have a Windows Service which communicates with WCF services. The WCF services are all fault shielded and generate custom UserFaultContracts and ServiceFaultContracts. No problems there. In the Windows Service I am using EntLib for exception handling and logging.
