  • Android ListView appears empty, but contains objects

    - by Lethjakman
    I'm having a really odd problem with my android listview. The listview is inside of a fragment, everything's compiling and I'm no longer getting a nullpointer error, but the listview is appearing empty. Even though it's appearing empty, the log is stating that the listview has 385 objects. I can't figure out why it's empty. I do get a blue fragment, and the listview is populated. Any ideas? How I set the adapter: ActivePackages = getList(); LayoutInflater inflater = (LayoutInflater) this.getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); LinearLayout mContainer = (LinearLayout) inflater.inflate(R.layout.tab_frag1_layout, null); ListView activeList = (ListView) mContainer.findViewById(R.id.activelist); ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1, android.R.id.text1, ActivePackages); Log.i("valueof activeList",String.valueOf(activeList.getCount())); //returns 0 activeList.setAdapter(adapter); adapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); Log.i("valueof activeList",String.valueOf(activeList.getCount())); //returns 385. This is the xml for the fragment: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:orientation="vertical" > <ListView android:id="@+id/activelist" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:background="#0073fd"> </ListView> </LinearLayout>

  • jQuery::Scrollable Div does not work

    - by Legend
    I am trying to create a scrollable DIV using the following: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Test</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/> <script type="text/javascript" src="lib/jquery/jquery-1.3.2.js"></script> <style type="text/css"> div.container { overflow:hidden; width:200px; height:200px; } div.content { position:relative; top:0; } </style> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function(){ $(".container a.up").bind("click", function(){ var topVal = $(this).parents(".container").find(".content").css("top"); $(this).parents(".container").find(".content").css("top", topVal-10); }); $(".container a.dn").bind("click", function(){ var topVal = $(this).parents(".container").find(".content").css("top"); $(this).parents(".container").find(".content").css("top", topVal+10); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <div class="container"> <p> <a href="#" class="up">Up</a> / <a href="#" class="dn">Down</a> </p> <div class="content"> <p>Hello World 1</p> <p>Hello World 2</p> <p>Hello World 3</p> <p>Hello World 4</p> <p>Hello World 5</p> <p>Hello World 6</p> <p>Hello World 7</p> <p>Hello World 8</p> <p>Hello World 9</p> <p>Hello World 10</p> <p>Hello World 10</p> <p>Hello World 11</p> <p>Hello World 12</p> <p>Hello World 13</p> <p>Hello World 14</p> <p>Hello World 15</p> <p>Hello World 16</p> <p>Hello World 17</p> <p>Hello World 18</p> <p>Hello World 19</p> <p>Hello World 20</p> <p>Hello World 21</p> <p>Hello World 22</p> <p>Hello World 23</p> <p>Hello World 24</p> <p>Hello World 25</p> <p>Hello World 26</p> <p>Hello World 27</p> </div> </div> </body> </html> I don't know where I am messing up, but it simply refuses to work. Any suggestions?

  • How to Get user input from a Text Entry Box in Android?

    - by NewGuy
    in an android website, I found an article about how to create a text entry widget that provides auto-complete suggestions. (Following is the link to the site; and it shows all the codes). http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/views/hello-autocomplete.html Can anyone please tell me how I can capture the input entered by the user? For example, if the user chooses “Canada”, is there a way I can know the result in the “HelloAutoComplete.java” activity? Any help would be greatly appreciated. public class HelloAutoComplete extends Activity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); AutoCompleteTextView textView = (AutoCompleteTextView) findViewById(R.id.autocomplete_country); String[] countries = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.countries_array); ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.list_item, countries); textView.setAdapter(adapter); textView.setOnItemSelectedListener(new AdapterView.OnItemSelectedListener() { public void onItemSelected(AdapterView<?> adapterView, View view, int i, long l) { if (adapterView.getItemAtPosition(i).toString().equals("Canada")) { Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "Result Canada", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } //Does not get an out put when I select Canada. } public void onNothingSelected(AdapterView<?> adapterView) { } }); } }

  • How to output multicolumn html without "widows"?

    - by user314850
    I need to output to HTML a list of categorized links in exactly three columns of text. They must be displayed similar to columns in a newspaper or magazine. So, for example, if there are 20 lines total the first and second columns would contain 7 lines and the last column would contain 6. The list must be dynamic; it will be regularly changed. The tricky part is that the links are categorized with a title and this title cannot be a "widow". If you have a page layout background you'll know that this means the titles cannot be displayed at the bottom of the column -- they must have at least one link underneath them, otherwise they should bump to the next column (I know, technically it should be two lines if I were actually doing page layout, but in this case one is acceptable). I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to get this done. Here's an example of what I mean: Shopping Link 3 Link1 Link 1 Link 4 Link2 Link 2 Link 3 Link 3 Cars Link 1 Music Games Link 2 Link 1 Link 1 Link 2 News As you can see, the "News" title is at the bottom of the middle column, and so is a "widow". This is unacceptable. I could bump it to the next column, but that would create an unnecessarily large amount of white space at the bottom of the second column. What needs to happen instead is that the entire list needs to be re-balanced. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for how to accomplish this, or perhaps source code or a plug in. Python is preferable, but any language is fine. I'm just trying to get the general concept down.

  • TableLayout formatting loss after device rotation

    - by roundhill
    I'm seeing a strange issue with a TableLayout after the device is rotated from either orientation. If you load the view in either portrait or landscape mode, the table loads fine. But once you rotate the device, the columns collapse to just fit their width. I would expect that after rotation, the columns would still stretch to fit the width of the screen. Any ideas on what can be done to resolve this? Screenies and layout code below. Before Rotation: After Rotation: Table Layout: <TableLayout android:id="@+id/dataTable" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_below="@id/chart" android:stretchColumns="*" android:shrinkColumns="*" android:padding="6dip" > </TableLayout> Table Row: <TableRow xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <TextView android:id="@+id/col1" android:layout_marginRight="2dip" android:textColorLink="#FF21759b" android:text="Column 1" android:padding="4dip" android:textColor="#FF464646"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/col2" android:text="Column 2" android:textColor="#FF464646" android:padding="4dip"/> </TableRow> Thanks!

  • Windows Phone 7 applications - Orientation Change

    - by Peter Perhác
    Hello there fellow developers! I am working on a Windows Phone 7 app and I can't figure out what I believe is a simple problem for the more seasoned ones. Say I have a layout consisting of two elements: a ListBox (filled with an abundance of items) and a TextBlock (providing the user with some basic instructions). I want these to be one above the other when the device is in Portrait orientation and I want these to be next to each other when the device orientation changes to Landscape. For the Portrait orientation I am using a Grid layout manager, as it lets me define the rows' heights like so... row 0 Height="2*", row 1 Height="*" Listbox sits in row 0, TextBlock in row 1. Now, what would be really neat is to simple change the RowDefinitions into ColumnDefinitions and reassign the listbox/textblock to the grid's columns instead of rows for when the device switches into Landscape. But that's just my idea. I don't know how to get this done elegantly. Maybe there's a better approach to this? Or maybe this is the correct approach and there is some method built for exactly this purpose? Thank you for your suggestions!

  • Android AutocompleteView OnClickListener

    - by Chirag_RB
    I have 2 Auto Complete Views which i have to pre-populate with some text .However as soon as user clicks on the views , the text should disappear and allow user to enter text . I have written two separate on click listeners to do so . The On click listener for the first one is working fine . However i have to double click for the On click listener of the second one to work. Please find the chunk of code below and come up with some solution . final AutoCompleteTextView source = (AutoCompleteTextView) findViewById(R.id.source); ArrayAdapter source_adapter = new ArrayAdapter(this, R.layout.list_item, Model.City); source.setAdapter(source_adapter); source.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener(){ public void onClick(View v) { source.setText(""); source.setTextSize(14); } }); final AutoCompleteTextView destination = (AutoCompleteTextView) findViewById(R.id.destination); ArrayAdapter destination_adapter = new ArrayAdapter(this, R.layout.list_item, Model.City); destination.setAdapter(destination_adapter); destination.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener(){ public void onClick(View v) { destination.setText(""); destination.setTextSize(14); } });

  • More efficient way of writing this javascript

    - by nblackburn
    I am creating a contact form for my website and and using javascript to the first layer of validation before submitting it which is then checked again via php but i am relatively new to javascript, here is my script... $("#send").click(function() { var fullname = $("input#fullname").val(); var email = $("input#email").val(); var subject = $("input#subject").val(); var message = $("textarea#message").val(); if (fullname == ""){ $("input#fullname").css("background","#d02624"); $("input#fullname").css("color","#121212"); }else{ $("input#fullname").css("background","#121212"); $("input#fullname").css("color","#5c5c5c"); } if (email == ""){ $("input#email").css("background","#d02624"); $("input#email").css("color","#121212"); }else{ $("input#email").css("background","#121212"); $("input#email").css("color","#5c5c5c"); } if (subject == ""){ $("input#subject").css("background","#d02624"); $("input#subject").css("color","#121212"); }else{ $("input#subject").css("background","#121212"); $("input#subject").css("color","#5c5c5c"); } if (message == ""){ $("textarea#message").css("background","#d02624"); $("textarea#message").css("color","#121212"); }else{ $("textarea#message").css("background","#121212"); $("textarea#message").css("color","#5c5c5c"); } if (name && email && subject && message != ""){ alert("YAY"); } }); How can i write this more efficiently and make the alert show if all the fields are filled out, thanks.

  • WPF Dynamic Layout with ItemsControl and Grid

    - by Jason Williams
    I am creating a WPF form. One of the requirements is that it have a sector-based layout so that a control can be explicitly placed in one of the sectors/cells. I have created a tic-tac-toe example below to convey my problem: There are two types and one base type: public class XMoveViewModel : MoveViewModel { } public class OMoveViewModel : MoveViewModel { } public class MoveViewModel { public int Row { get; set; } public int Column { get; set; } } The DataContext of the form is set to an instance of: public class MainViewModel : ViewModelBase { public MainViewModel() { Moves = new ObservableCollection<MoveViewModel>() { new XMoveViewModel() { Row = 0, Column = 0 }, new OMoveViewModel() { Row = 1, Column = 0 }, new XMoveViewModel() { Row = 1, Column = 1 }, new OMoveViewModel() { Row = 0, Column = 2 }, new XMoveViewModel() { Row = 2, Column = 2} }; } public ObservableCollection<MoveViewModel> Moves { get; set; } } And finally, the XAML looks like this: <Window.Resources> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type vm:XMoveViewModel}"> <Image Source="XMove.png" Grid.Row="{Binding Path=Row}" Grid.Column="{Binding Path=Column}" Stretch="None" /> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type vm:OMoveViewModel}"> <Image Source="OMove.png" Grid.Row="{Binding Path=Row}" Grid.Column="{Binding Path=Column}" Stretch="None" /> </DataTemplate> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Moves}"> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <Grid ShowGridLines="True"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition /> <ColumnDefinition /> <ColumnDefinition /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> </Grid> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> </ItemsControl> </Grid> What was not so obvious to me when I started was that the ItemsControl element actually wraps each item in a container, so my Grid.Row and Grid.Column bindings are ignored since the images are not directly contained within the grid. Thus, all of the images are placed in the default Row and Column (0, 0). What is happening: The desired result: So, my question is this: how can I achieve the dynamic placement of my controls in a grid? I would prefer a XAML/Data Binding/MVVM-friendly solution. Thanks.

    - by Wahid
    Please Help. • Listfield layout question - blackberry

    - by Kai
    I'm having an interesting anomaly when displaying a listfield on the blackberry simulator: The top item is the height of a single line of text (about 12 pixels) while the rest are fine. Does anyone know why only the top item is being drawn this way? Also, when I add an empty venue in position 0, it still displays the first actual venue this way (item in position 1). Not sure what to do. Thanks for any help. The layout looks like this: ----------------------------------- | *part of image* | title | ----------------------------------- | | title | | * full image * | address | | | city, zip | ----------------------------------- The object is called like so: listField = new ListField( venueList.size() ); listField.setCallback( this ); listField.setSelectedIndex(-1); _middle.add( listField ); Here is the drawListRow code: public void drawListRow( ListField listField, Graphics graphics, int index, int y, int width ) { listField.setRowHeight(90); Hashtable item = (Hashtable) venueList.elementAt( index ); String venue_name = (String) item.get("name"); String image_url = (String) item.get("image_url"); String address = (String) item.get("address"); String city = (String) item.get("city"); String zip = (String) item.get("zip"); EncodedImage img = null; try { String filename = image_url.substring( image_url.indexOf("crop/") + 5, image_url.length() ); FileConnection fconn = (FileConnection) Connector.open( "file:///SDCard/Blackberry/project1/" + filename, Connector.READ); if ( !fconn.exists() ) { } else { InputStream input = fconn.openInputStream(); byte[] data = new byte[(int)fconn.fileSize()]; input.read(data); input.close(); if(data.length > 0) { EncodedImage rawimg = EncodedImage.createEncodedImage(data, 0, data.length); int dw = Fixed32.toFP(Display.getWidth()); int iw = Fixed32.toFP(rawimg.getWidth()); int sf = Fixed32.div(iw, dw); img = rawimg.scaleImage32(sf * 4, sf * 4); } else { } } } catch(IOException ef) { } graphics.drawText( venue_name, 140, y, 0, width ); graphics.drawText( address, 140, y + 15, 0, width ); graphics.drawText( city + ", " + zip, 140, y + 30, 0, width ); if(img != null) { graphics.drawImage(0, y, img.getWidth(), img.getHeight(), img, 0, 0, 0); } }

  • Not seeing Sync Block in Object Layout

    - by bob-bedell
    It's my understanding the all .NET object instances begin with an 8 byte 'object header': a synch block (4 byte pointer into a SynchTableEntry table), and a type handle (4 byte pointer into the types method table). I'm not seeing this in VS 2010 RC's (CLR 4.0) debugger memory windows. Here's a simple class that will generate a 16 byte instance, less the object header. class Program { short myInt = 2; // 4 bytes long myLong = 3; // 8 bytes string myString = "aString"; // 4 byte object reference // 16 byte instance static void Main(string[] args) { new Program(); return; } } An SOS object dump tells me that the total object size is 24 bytes. That makes sense. My 16 byte instance plus an 8 byte object header. !DumpObj 0205b660 Name: Offset_Test.Program MethodTable: 000d383c EEClass: 000d13f8 Size: 24(0x18) bytes File: C:\Users\Bob\Desktop\Offset_Test\Offset_Test\bin\Debug\Offset_Test.exe Fields: MT Field Offset Type VT Attr Value Name 632020fc 4000001 10 System.Int16 1 instance 2 myInt 632050d8 4000002 4 System.Int64 1 instance 3 myLong 631fd2b8 4000003 c System.String 0 instance 0205b678 myString Here's the raw memory: 0x0205B660 000d383c 00000003 00000000 0205b678 00000002 ... And here are some annotations: offset 0 000d383c ;TypeHandle (pointer to MethodTable), 4 bytes offset 4 00000003 00000000 ;myLong, 8 bytes offset 12 0205b678 ;myString, 4 byte reference to address of "myString" on GC Heap offset 16 00000002 ;myInt, 4 bytes My object begins a address 0x0205B660. But I can only account for 20 bytes of it, the type handle and the instance fields. There is no sign of a synch block pointer. The object size is reported as 24 bytes, but the debugger is showing that it only occupies 20 bytes of memory. I'm reading Drill Into .NET Framework Internals to See How the CLR Creates Runtime Objects, and expected the first 4 bytes of my object to be a zeroed synch block pointer, as shown in Figure 8 of that article. Granted, this is an article about CLR 1.1. I'm just wondering if the difference between what I'm seeing and what this early article reports is a change in either the debugger's display of object layout, or in the way the CLR lays out objects in versions later than 1.1. Anyway, can anyone account for my 4 missing bytes?

  • Adaptive ADF/WebCenter template for the iPad

    - by Maiko Rocha
    One of my WebCenter Portal customers was asking about adaptive design with ADF/WebCenter Portal and how they could go about creating an adaptive iPad template for their WebCenter Portal application. They were looking not only for the out-of-the-box support for mobile Safari which is certified against PS5+ (11.1.1.6) for ADF/WebCenter - but also to create a specific template to streamline their workflow on the iPad. Seems like they wanted something in the lines of Yahoo! Mail provides for the iPad - so the example I will use is shamelessly inspired by Y! Mail's iPad UI.  But first, let's quickly understand how can we bake in some adaptive goodness into ADF Faces. First thing we need to understand is, yes, there are a couple of constraints that we will need to work around, namely, the use or layout managers and skins. Please also keep in mind that I'm not and I don't pretend to be a web designer, much less an UX specialist, so feel free to leave your thoughts on the matter in the comments section. Now, back to the limitations. Layout Managers ADF Faces layout managers create an abstraction on top of the generated HTML code for a page so a developer doesn't need to be worried about how to size and dimension the UI layout (eg, af:panelStretchLayout). Although layout managers are very helpful, in this specific situation we will need to know a little bit more of how the final HTML is being rendered so we can apply the CSS class accordingly and create transition containers where the media queries will be applied - now, if you're using 11gR2 (11.1.2.2.3) there's the new component af:panelGridLayout (here and here) that will greatly improve creating responsive templates and pages because it is based on the grid/fluid systems and will generate straight out to DIVs on your final page. For now, I'm limited to PS5 and the af:panelStretchLayout component as a starting point because that's the release my customer is on. Skins You won't be able to use media queries, or use anything with "@" notation on the skin CSS file - the skin pre-processor will remove all extraneous "@" from the CSS file. The solution is to split your CSS in two separate files: a skin CSS file and plain CSS where you will add the media queries. The issue here is that you won't be able to use media queries for any faces components. We can, though, still apply the media queries for the components like af:panelGroupLayout and af:panelBorderLayout through their styleClass property to enable these components to be responsive to to the iPad orientation, by changing its dimensions, font sizes, hide/show areas, etc. Difference between responsive and adaptive design The best definition of adaptive vs responsive web design I could find is this: “Responsive web design,” as coined by Ethan Marcotte, means “fluid grids, fluid images/media & media queries.” “Adaptive web design,” as I use it, is about creating interfaces that adapt to the user’s capabilities (in terms of both form and function). To me, “adaptive web design” is just another term for “progressive enhancement” of which responsive web design can (an often should) be an integral part, but is a more holistic approach to web design in that it also takes into account varying levels of markup, CSS, JavaScript and assistive technology support. Responsive/adapative web design is much more than slapping an HTML template with CSS around your content or application. The content and application themselves are part of your web design - in other words, a responsive template is just an afterthought if it is not originating from a responsive design the involves the whole web application/s. Tips on responsive / adapative design with ADF/WebCenter Some of the tips listed below were already mentioned in multiple blog posts about ADF layout and skinning, but it is still worth remembering: a simple guideline for ADF/WebCenter apps would be to first create a high-level group of devices, for example: smartphones, tablets,  and desktop. For each of these large groups, create the basic structure to provide responsiveness: a page template, a skin, and an external CSS: pagetemplate_smartphone.jspx, smartphone_skin.css, smartphone-responsive.css pagetemplate_tablet.jspx, tablet_skin.css, tablet-responsive.css pagetemplate_desktop.jspx, desktop_skin.css, desktop-responsive.css These three assets can be changed on the fly through an user-agent check on the server side, delivering the right UI to the right device. Within each of the assets, you can make fine adjustments for each subgroup of devices with media queries - for example, smart phones with different screen dimensions and pixel density. Having these three groups and the corresponding assets per group seem to be a good compromise between trying to put everything on a single set of assets - specially considering the constraints above - and going to the other side of the spectrum to create assets per discrete device (iPhone4, iPhone5, Nexus, S3, etc.). Keep in mind that these are my rules and are not in any shape or form a best practice - this is how it fits best for the scenarios I've been working with. If you need to use HTML tags on your page, surround them with af:group to protect the DOM structure For stretchable/fluid layouts: Use non-stretching containers: panelGroupLayout, panelBorderLayout, … panelBorderLayout can be used to approximate HTML table component To avoid multiple scroll bars, do not nest scrolling PanelGroupLayout components. Consider layout="vertical" For stretchable/fluid layouts: Most stretchable ADF components also work in flowing context with dimensionsFrom="auto" To stretch a component horizontally, use styleClass="AFStretchWidth" instead of  "width:100%" Skinning Don't use CSS3 @media, @import, animations, etc. on skin css files. They will be removed. CSS3 properties within a class (box-shadow, transition, etc.) work just fine. Consider resetting some skin classes to better control their rendering: body {color: inherit;font: inherit;} af|document {-tr-inhibit: all;} af|commandLink {-tr-inhibit: all;} af|goLink {-tr-inhibit: all;} af|inputText::content {font: inherit;} Specific meta tags and CSS properties: Use  <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0"/> to avoid zooming (if you want) Use -webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch to enable native momentum scrolling within overflown areas (here) Use text-rendering: optmizeLegibility to improve readability. (here) User text-overflow: ellipsis to gracefully crop overflown text. (here) The meta-tags are included in each and every page in the metaContainer facet of af:document tag. You can also use a javascript to inject the meta-tags from the template. For the purpose of the example, I wanted to use as few workarounds as possible.   The iPad template and sample application This sample application has been built as a WebCenter Portal application, but you will also be able to reuse the template and techniques on your vanilla ADF application. Keep in mind that I'm neither a designer nor a CSS specialist, so please don't bash me too much on the messy CSS file you'll find on the application.  I've extended the provided PreferencesBean class that comes with WebCenter Portal and added code to dinamically change the template and skin on the fly.   This is the sample application in landscape orientation: This is the sample application in portrait orientation - the left side menu hides automatically based on a CSS media query: Another screenshot with a skinned popup opened: This is a sample application for you to play with - ideally you shouldn't use it as a starting point. On the left side bar you will find links rendered from a WebCenter Portal navigation model - the link triggers a full request through an af:goLink, while the light blue PPR button triggers a PPR navigation. The dark blue toolbar buttons at the top don't have any function,while the Approve and Reject buttons show a skinned popup. The search box of course doesn't have any behavior attahed to it either. There's a known issue right now with some PPR calls that are randomly generating a 403 error redirecting to the login page - I didn't have time to investigate if this is iOS6 specific or not - if you have any insights please let me know your findings. You can download the sample here.

  • JavaScript and CSS files for ASP.NET MVC 2 EditorTemplate user controls

    - by Zack Peterson
    I'm using an EditorTemplate DateTime.ascx in my ASP.NET MVC 2 project. <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<DateTime>" %> <%: Html.TextBox(String.Empty, Model.ToString("M/dd/yyyy h:mm tt")) %> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function () { $('#<%: ViewData.TemplateInfo.GetFullHtmlFieldId(String.Empty) %>').AnyTime_picker({ format: "%c/%d/%Y %l:%i %p" }); }); </script> This uses the Any+Time™ JavaScript library for jQuery by Andrew M. Andrews III. I've added those library files (anytimec.js and anytimec.css) to the <head> section of my master page. Rather than include these JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheet files on every page of my web site, how can I instead include the .js and .css files only on pages that need them--pages that edit a DateTime type value?

  • CSS3 - Validator - RGBA wrong?

    - by poru
    I'm using the W3C CSS Validator with the Profile CSS3 but the validator says that my CSS rgba()'s are wrong. I looked up the Color Module Level 3, and the syntax is the same as mine. I also tried the Dev-Validator, same result. Example input: div.class { border: 1px solid rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); } Am I wrong or why does the validator say that I have that many mistakes with rgba?

  • CSS3 webkit fading in a tooltip.

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
    HI, I've just been experimenting with a CSS tooltip that fades in with CSS3's transitions. I've got it working up to a point, but for some reason, when I hover over where it's meant to be, it activates, even though it's positioned left:-999px;. So basically, what am I doing wrong/is what I was going for possible? (Note I don't want to do anything with JS/JQuery, was just curious to see if I could do it in CSS) You can see and play with it here.

  • Layout problem: scrollview inside a table, inside a custom dialog

    - by Sean
    I have a layout problem which I can't fix. I've looked through many posts on here, and mine seems to be unique enough to post a question. I've created a custom Dialog which programmatically creates a 3 row table. The top and bottom rows have text, while the middle row contains a ScrollView, which contains a LinearLayout. That LinearLayout then contains some number of views (TextView in this example). Since I'm doing this programmatically, see the XML pseudocode below, and the actual code below that. What I would like to happen, is that when the height of the contained content in the LinearLayout gets too big, the ScrollView does its job, and the header and footer TextView's are always visible. The problem is that when the dialog gets big enough, the ScrollView appears to take over the whole dialog, and my footer TextView disappears off the screen. What can I do to make sure the footer TextView never disappears, but the ScrollView can still function? See the following image links: Footer visible on the left, gone on the right: http://img690.imageshack.us/i/screenshotss.png/ <TableLayout> <TableRow> <TextView> </TableRow> <TableRow> <ScrollView> <LinearLayout> <TextView/> <TextView/> <TextView/> ... </LinearLayout> </ScrollView> </TableRow> <TableRow> <TextView> </TableRow> </TableLayout> Here's the code: public class DialogScrollTest extends Dialog { public DialogScrollTest(Context ctx){ super(ctx); setTitle(""); requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE); TableLayout table = new TableLayout(ctx); TableRow row; TextView text; row = new TableRow(ctx); { text = new TextView(ctx); text.setText("TestTop"); row.addView(text); } table.addView(row); row = new TableRow(ctx); { ScrollView scroll = new ScrollView(ctx); { LinearLayout linear = new LinearLayout(ctx); linear.setOrientation(LinearLayout.VERTICAL); for(int t=0; t<32; ++t){ text = new TextView(ctx); text.setText("TestScroll"); linear.addView(text); } scroll.addView(linear); } row.addView(scroll); } table.addView(row); row = new TableRow(ctx); { text = new TextView(ctx); text.setText("TestBottom"); row.addView(text); } table.addView(row); this.setContentView(table); } }

  • Stick Footer Issue in Safari & Chrome

    My sticky footer works great in all the browsers expect Safari & Chrome, particularly the work.html page itself. http://obliqueinteractive.com/creative/work.html I noticed when i delete this css attribute from my style sheet, the problem goes away but doesn't allow for the footer to stick anymore html, body {height: 100%;} Could there be other css issues that are forcing the footer to act this way?

  • YUI - Pros and Cons

    - by StackOverflowNewbie
    I'm about to begin a new project and plan to use YUI and my JS and CSS framework for the following reasons: Treeview with tri-state checkboxes (seems to be the best implementation I could find) Calandar (seen others, but since #1 is on YUI, I'm glad it also has calendar) CSS framework (was going to use 960, but might as well go 100% Yahoo) I plan to use only 1 JS framework. Does anyone see any problems with my decision?

  • Aptana CSS hinting inside jQuery

    - by Arpinum
    I have code hinting for Aptana setup for jQuery. However, many jQuery actions use strings, which Aptana does not provide hinting. How can I have Aptana give hinting for html and CSS when I am typing inside a string? $(function() { $("#theList tr:even").addClass("stripe1"); $("#theList tr:odd").addClass("stripe2"); }); I have an id="thelist", but since I am inside a double quote, Aptana provides no help. Similarly, .stripe1 and .stripe2 are not hinted. I know CSS and HTML hinting are turned on. If Aptana cannot provide this feature, are there other code editors that will?

  • Insert unicode strings into CleverCSS

    - by Brian M. Hunt
    How can one insert a Unicode string CSS into CleverCSS? In particular, how could one produce the following CSS using CleverCSS: li:after { content: "\00BB \0020"; } I've figured out CleverCSS's parsing rules, but suffice that the permutations I've thought sensible have failed, for example: li: content: "\\00BB \\0020" // becomes content: 'BB 0' EDIT: My other examples and the rest of my post weren't saved. Suffice that I had a longer list of examples that also failed, as did my closing which was something like: I'd be grateful for any thoughts and input. Brian

  • Good code highlighting, syntax analysis and code assist editor on js.erb and css.erb files

    - by Pickachu
    I want to know if there is a good compatible api that supports erb and javascript highlighting. I've already tried Eclipse with Aptana RadRails. Perhaps I'm configuring something wrong, but it guesses that I'm using html.erb on both css.erb and js.erb files. I've tried too the Emacs with js2-mode, nXhtml and Rinari modes. Again, it works fine for html.erb, but it detects the css.erb and js.erb as html.erb files. Maybe it's possible to configure it to accept that files and be compatible.

  • Dynamically sized UIWebView in a UITableViewCell with auto layout - constraint violation

    - by Orion Edwards
    I've got a UITableViewCell which contains a UIWebView. The table view cell adjusts it's height depending on the web view contents. I've got it all working fine, however when the view loads, I get a constraint violation exception in the debugger (the app continues running and functionally works fine, but I'd like to resolve this exception if possible). How I've got it set up: The TableView sets the cell height like this: -(CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { if(indexPath.section == 0) { [_topCell layoutIfNeeded]; CGFloat finalHeight = [_topCell.contentView systemLayoutSizeFittingSize:UILayoutFittingCompressedSize].height; return finalHeight + 1; } The cell constraints are as follows: Arbitrary 7px offset from the cell's contentView (top) to the webView Web view has arbitrary fixed height constraint of 62px (will expand later once content loads) Arbitrary 8px offset from the webView to the cell's contentView (bottom) in my viewDidLoad, I tell the webView to go and load a URL, and in the webViewDidFinishLoad, I update the web view height constraint, like this -(void)webViewDidFinishLoad:(UIWebView *)webView { CGSize fittingSize = [webView sizeThatFits:CGSizeZero]; // fittingSize is approx 500 [self.tableView beginUpdates]; // Exceptions happen on the following line setting the constant _topCell.webViewHeightConstraint.constant = fittingSize.height; [_topCell layoutSubviews]; [self.tableView endUpdates]; } The exception looks like this: Unable to simultaneously satisfy constraints. Probably at least one of the constraints in the following list is one you don't want. Try this: (1) look at each constraint and try to figure out which you don't expect; (2) find the code that added the unwanted constraint or constraints and fix it. (Note: If you're seeing NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraints that you don't understand, refer to the documentation for the UIView property translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints) ( "<NSLayoutConstraint:0x10964b250 V:[webView(62)] (Names: webView:0x109664a00 )>", "<NSLayoutConstraint:0x109243d30 V:|-(7)-[webView] (Names: webView:0x109664a00, cellContent:0x1092436f0, '|':cellContent:0x1092436f0 )>", "<NSLayoutConstraint:0x109243f80 V:[webView]-(8)-| (Names: cellContent:0x1092436f0, webView:0x109664a00, '|':cellContent:0x1092436f0 )>", "<NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraint:0x10967c210 h=--& v=--& V:[cellContent(78)] (Names: cellContent:0x1092436f0 )>" ) Will attempt to recover by breaking constraint <NSLayoutConstraint:0x10964b250 V:[webView(62)] (Names: webView:0x109664a00 )> This seems a bit weird. It's implied that the constraint which sets the height of the web view is going to be broken, however the web view does get it's height correctly set, and the tableview renders perfectly well. From my guesses, it looks like the newly increased web view height constraint (it's about 500px after the web view loads) is going to conflict with the <NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraint:0x10967c210 h=--& v=--& V:[cellContent(78)] setting the cell height to 78 (put there by interface builder). This makes sense, however I don't want that cell content to have a fixed height of 78px, I want it to increase it's height, and functionally, it actually does this, just with these exceptions. I've tried setting _topCell.contentView.translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints = NO; to attempt to remove the NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraint - this stops the exceptions, but then all the other layout is screwed up and the web view is about 10px high in the middle of the table view for no reason. I've also tried setting _topCell.contentView.autoresizingMask |= UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight; in the viewDidLoad to hopefully affect the contentView 78px height constraint, but this has no effect Any help would be much appreciated
